What I don’t understand is if you’re going to run on 3rd down there, why Perone instead of Mixon? 

Mixon had a good game and you pull him in that situation?

Weren't they in hurry up?  Even if not, they had the 2-minute offense on the field and Perine is the 3rd-down back, they were trying to catch them off guard.  He was in on that whole drive as he always is in those situations.

Now if you want to ask why in the world Perine is the 3rd down back when one of Mixon's biggest strengths at OU was his receiving ability that's fair.  But on that play they were trying to run a draw in passing formation.

That is not what I would have done, but Perine is their third down back and two-minute guy for some reason. Probably blocking. But trying to pick up that yard on a draw right into Aaron Donald's territory was so stupid. I throw up my hands. Can't figure it out. 

I get it on paper, but situationally I don’t. I want my shifty guy who’s shown he can make something out of nothing at that point in the game and a first down needed, especially since it was going to cost you a timeout too.

I don't know if anybody else has mentioned it yet, but I thought there was a clear false start by the Rams on that holding play as well.  Snap was late.

I called that at the time to my wife. Very messed up snap.

Hard to go wrong with either him or Kupp. Both made game changing plays and Rams lose without either of them. I’d give it to Kupp personally but basically a tossup between them

BS...it wasn't on fourth down, it didnt extend a drive. And it was SOFT...not egregious bad call. way way way TOO much BEING MADE OF IT

I think what makes it stand out as so bad is because the refs let them play all game before throwing that flag. If it’s egregious I could get it but that’s a tough spot to turn a would be 4th down into a first down. 

In addition to that, Kupp should have never been in the game after the head to head hit where he stayed down. He was supposed to be in the concussion protocol.

That was kinda how it was in the 80's up until the Hershel Walker trade. Then most teams got super spooked about trading picks for proven players. 

It's probably a flawed strategy unless you have multiple HOFers and a great HC. Too many teams do it, and you end up grossly overpaying for slightly above average players 

That said, it is a copycat league so it's possible a few teams give it a go

It’s amazing to see all the whining.  There was a couple controversial calls (non-calls) against both teams.

i really didn't have a dog in the fight, but i think it is less about the specific call, and much more about the refs letting them play (on both sides of the ball), then all of a sudden less than 4 minutes of the game feeling like they had to throw a flag almost every play. just seemed way overboard and hard to be upset with Cincy defense if they were playing how the refs had called 7/8 of the game, then decided to change it up all of a sudden

Honestly, I'd take Donald over deion already. 

One guy closed down half the field on every defensive snap and gave you offense via KR/PR and part time receiver.
 

You said Donald was close to being the  the best player of all time. 
 

I would take Randy White, Bob Lilly, Warren Sapp, Mean Joe green and Alan page all before I got to Darnold.

Fair enough I suppose, but still believe Rams earned it on that drive, and after the missed facemask complaining about a soft penalty seems weak.

I get that but I think the missed call at the start of the 2nd half was far more game changing than anything that happened in that last Rams drive.  And I really was rooting for the Bengals.  I just don’t believe that the refs dictated the outcome of this game.  I saw 2 defenses play an amazing game and one of them just made an extra play.

Yup. My cousin has been saying Vegas has their hands in it for decades. I thought he was crazy. The Chiefs game was way too suspect for me. The play before the half and the play where Mahomes got sacked fumbled - there were no less than 5 guys wide open.

That BS non OPI call was basically all of the Bengals offense in the second half.  It was massively important.

No, see the NFL was clearly rooting for the Bengals, but see then in the Super Bowl, they wanted the Rams. I think some of the refs are in the Illuminati, they have an annual meeting at the edge of the flat earth with JFK and the elders of Zion, and the owners, and they all decide to risk the credibility of their multi-billion dollar franchises. It involves numerology as well, but I don't want to get to into it, this thread might be monitored.

Mixon hasn't been a world beater this season.  And Perine has been solid in the 3DRB role all year.  That being said, Mixon was looking juiced today and they should have stuck with him.
