What I don’t understand is if you’re going to run on 3rd down there, why Perone instead of Mixon?
Mixon had a good game and you pull him in that situation?
Weren't they in hurry up? Even if not, they had the 2-minute offense on the field and Perine is the 3rd-down back, they were trying to catch them off guard. He was in on that whole drive as he always is in those situations.
Now if you want to ask why in the world Perine is the 3rd down back when one of Mixon's biggest strengths at OU was his receiving ability that's fair. But on that play they were trying to run a draw in passing formation.
