T.O. FRUSTRATED (1 Viewer)

I love how the fact that he didn't completely embarrass himself and stick his foot in his mouth means the guy "comes off pretty good".
How else does one look pretty good??He complemented his teammates. Show enthusiasm for winning. Confident in the coaches and the QB.

He's still focusing on getting more looks, how his talents aren't being used properly. Most players say they trust the coaches and game plan and they just need to go out and execute better as a team. This guy says he needs to be more involved and that the 13 looks he got weren't good enough for him to do anything with them. That's an indictment of either his teammates, his coaching staff or both. When asked what would make him happy he says getting more involved instead of getting more wins.
I read the complete opposite. Besides .. just b/c you are thrown the ball doesn't mean they are catchable. Not even half those 13 passes were catchable.

That's what a team wants. Their best player not to want to the ball more. In fact, Owens should be just very pleased to get 0 catches per game. Yeah, that's what a team really wants. (sarcasm mode turned off)

The guy asks if he's having a slow start, instead of just saying yes I could be doing better he says I'm not being utilized... and we could be 4-0. I'd jump on that as well. Again, he clearly isn't giving the team-first answer and calling him out on it is the right thing to do.
I think he says the complete opposite. He's getting paid a lot of money and has done very little on the field. In that position, you bet I would be pushing what I bring to the table.
It's still all about Him lovin' him some him, and this writer exposed it. Just the fact that he's giving this kind of long interview knowing the type of attention it will bring and the way it could be spun shows that he is addicted to the spotlight. He's like a moth attracted to the bug zapper - he can't resist the temptation of that light.
You mean Owens is arrogant? No way. I had no idea. Like an earlier poster said.. trying to get a reaction out of Owens is pathetic. Rather than forgive and forget, the media prefer to create something out of nothing. They (and a lot of people on this board) are no better than Owens when it comes to character.. not one bit.

I'll give you that the title is lame and misleading, but if I'm not mistaken, that's often done by someone other than the author of the article. The rest of it is just asking questions to let TO expose his selfishness, because it's so easy. If you don't see that his selfishness IS the story, I don't know what you've been watching.
What has his selfishness have to do with anything? Everyone knows that. Hmm.. did that get him suspended last year? That's why its poor reporting.. there's nothing new to be gained here.. only to try to make someone look bad. That's what we want out of reporters and people in general? That's pretty sad you feel that way.Why not show how Owens has never done illegal drugs, beat up his girlfriend, and otherwise gotten into trouble, like so many other athletes have? Why not talk about his faith? Seems more people don't know that then they know of his selfishness. That would be reporting.

I hate to say I told you so.
Remind me again...wasn't something about TO being the cancer that caused the demise of another team???Meanwhile, back in NE, the win column grows as the cast-off acquisitions increase.
Here are the things I've said:ESPN made a mountain out of a molehill on the TO story because it made them money.Reid should never have taken on Owens if he wasn't prepared to deal with his personality. Benching/cutting him does not constitute dealing with him.Owens hasn't said many things that are truly bad; ESPN in particular and the rest of the media (especially now) try to create stories from out of context quotesA team that stars Owens and is willing to deal with his personality will win more gamesI stand by all of those comments. Dallas is not using Owens as a star. They're using him as a decoy. If they lose with Owens on the field because they didn't throw to him, that's on them. Owens is not dividing the Dallas locker room. He hasn't been a cancer, and he's acting like a team player. Yeah, he wants the ball. I know it's shocking that a team's best receiver would be upset that he didn't get a chance to win the game - let alone the best receiver in the NFL - but he was trying to be a leader, and he didn't get the chance. It's frustrating, and I don't blame him for being frustrated. His comments on the sideline were the comments of a leader, not the comments of a distraction - if you listen to his teammates, they've all said he was trying to get them pumped up and saying he was going to help them win this game. It's too bad (for him and the Cowboys) that he never got the chance.

There are at least 50 starting WRs in the league who could word for word give that exact interview and would not have one speck of a negative inference drawn from it.
Maybe, but there aren't 50 WRs in the league that would say those things in the first place. T.O. is a gloryhound who has no one to blame but himself.

worth re-posting
Not even close. Even if you were quoting something in that interview, it would have been much better to trim it down to what you wanted to reference. Quoting the whole thing and having nothing to say about any of it is annoying and makes you look senseless.

Where can I get a pair of those nice, rosey-colored glasses you're wearing?
