Free agent Tatum Bell is hoping for another shot in the NFL."I know I could come in there and compete for the starting job," Bell said, speaking of his former team, the Broncos. "If not, I know I could at least be a good backup." Bell is only 28 and racked up 117 total yards on 12 touches in his last appearance, but has only drawn interest from the upstart UFL.Source: Denver Post
Here we go.....I was shocked he looked decent at the end of last year after spending most of the year at T-Mobell. You think he sits out a year with Shanny and comes back better than ever in 2010??
No chance. The reason he looked decent last year is because Denver has hands down the best offensive line in the entire NFL. Don't believe me? Denver allowed the fewest sacks in the NFL despite attempting the third most passes, and they averaged 4.8 yards per carry as a team (good for 3rd in the NFL) despite the fact that they lost SEVEN RBS TO SEASON-ENDING INJURIES. That offensive line could have made Chris Perry look like a stud.I think there's no chance Tatum winds up back in the NFL. Why? Because as I said, Denver lost SEVEN RBS TO SEASON-ENDING INJURIES last year. If Denver had only lost 5 RBs for the season, no team would have even given Tatum Bell a shot. It took losing SEVEN backs for the Broncos to bring Bell back, and even then they only did it because it was too late in the season to teach their system to a new RB. I've made the joke before, but Tatum Bell is a guy who so much baggage that he had to steal Rudi Johnson's luggage to carry it all.
