TE Brenton Strange, Jax (2 Viewers)

Activated will play this week. Unknown if on a snap count.
Definite wait and see usage.
WIth Gadsden on bye in my 14-team non-PPR league, I'm currently starting Barner. Thinking of going with Strange instead for the upside. In a non-PPR league, unless a guy scores a TD there's really not much difference between 4-40 and 1-8
I personally would start Barner over Strange. At least for now. That might change later.

I'm forced to start him. LFG!
I want to see a roster and waiver wire forced to start Strange.
I'm starting him in one league and was Slayton being active from starting him in two leagues. These are TEP leagues, but still, it's not crazy to me to be forced into needing to start him.
Understood. I could see someone starting him for upside over another option. Just can’t see a roster that is “forced” to start him.

If you were riding into this week with the only option as Strange, then you are in big trouble either way.

Maybe I’m just playing semantics with words.

The league I’m starting him I am literally forced to start him or pick someone up.

I have no active players on my bench. The highest projected player for the week available to be picked up is Noah Fant. These are 1.5 TEP leagues.

But to your point that team is in fact in big trouble.

The other league I was down to choosing between Rashid, Coker or Strange or Slayton if he is active and it looks like he is I’m going with him. If he was out I was leaning starting Strange if he was active. This is playoff team so not in big trouble, and technically unlike the other league I’d not have been forced to use him but if I did I would not have classified it as chasing upside. More hoping he can hit his average before his early exit game.

I thought I was set at TE with Kraft and Kincaid. Lost Kraft for the season, and Kincaid has been hurt the last two weeks. I could have picked up Schultz last week, but being undefeated at that time, and not needing a win, prioritized Strange first, who I believe has a higher ceiling than Schultz, because we haven't really seen what Strange is yet. I mean, Strange likely is a JAG but we already know Schultz is one.

BTW I lost by three last week because I didn't pick up Schultz. I honestly didn't care at the time and it was the right move from a practical standpoint since I already locked up the #1 seed. But, looking back, would have been pretty sweet to potentially go undefeated over the full season, and I wish I would have played to win.

I lost Kraft and Kincaid has been out with a hammy. I picked up Strange last week to play but had to drop him when he wasn't activated for Friermuth v. the Bengals which, while the process was correct, only netted me 2.9 points. WIll this week's outcome with Strange be the same? Maybe but I think he is highly underrated, especially from a real-life perspective as to what he brings to that team.

We have very deep benches and I don't want to drop any of them which include BTJ, Burden III, Kincaid, Jordan Mason, Sean Tucker, Keaton Mitchell, Tank Bigsby, and Chiefs D/ST (paired with SEA - defensive points are huge in this league), and Jayden Reed stashed on IR.

Top options on the WW for TE is Brock Wright, Isaiah Likely, Jonnu Smith, Okonkwo, etc.

I am currently in first place at 8-3.
