TE Brock Bowers, LV (1 Viewer)

I was tinkering with an exploit/avoid thread this week, this is what i was writing about the Raiders for this weekend

Raiders at Ravens

Targets that matter
Brock Bowers 8…rookie TE eat your heart out if you opted not to draft him
Davante Adams 6…this seems a little light
A.Mattison 6…not sure he’s going to see that every week
J.Meyers 3
Z.White 3

Minshew did not have the best day vs LAC but we got a taste of who he plans on throwing the ball at and early returns on Bowers are promising. 6 catches for almost 60 yds, they are going to have him heavily involved most weeks. Price tag will be higher than draft day but you might be able to trade for him before he crosses 100 yds for the first time or has 2 TD catches, it’s coming at some point this season.

As a rookie in his very first game, Brock Bowers:
  • Earned a 21.2% target share
  • Ran 77.5% of the routes
  • Ran 65.5% of them from a WR spot
  • Blocked on zero pass plays
  • Had the 2nd most targets of any TE
  • Had the 2nd most yards of any TE
TLDR : Brock Bowers will be a league winner in 2024.
Did the Raiders trade him today?
Bork Bowser is the best football player in the universe.

this MFer

knows stuff

Currently tied for the league lead in receptions at 15 with Nabers and Godwin.

He was just short of his first career TD today as well after hulking his way through a few defenders. I thought maybe he was in, but it was never reviewed and the Raiders ran it in on the next play anyways.

He’s not a tight end. He’s a pass catcher. There are no 230 lb “tight ends”

We can make records fall all of the time if you just assign a position to the guy.

Two games into his career and without benefit of a TD he's already TE1 in TEP leagues.

I only got him on one dynasty team, a TEP FFPC league we are entering the 13th season I believe. I've never had a stud TE in this league. Have had Goedert the duration of his career and he's been the best one I've ever had. It feels GREAT!

he weighed 241 at his pro day and that was lighter than his playing weight. he's the same size as engram. he'll be 250 next season no doubt.

I'm still trying to process the notion that the Raiders didn't #### up a first round draft selection.

Yet...

As a Bears fan who wanted SO BADLY for his team to draft Bowers at #9, it was beyond frustrating watching Odunze fail to catch that TD last night.

Brock would’ve caught it. And that’s because Brock Bowers is the best football player in the world.

I think Odunze and Caleb are going to be great for you long term.

Bowers is going to be great but, like Kolton Miller wasted for the next five years on a franchise that sucks but refuses to choose to suck enough to have an opportunity to get a franchise QB in the first place.

I wish the Raiders were bold enough to do what the Bears did.

You are really going to just pound this forever, huh?

In the thread discussing our rookie phenom.

It's a bummer, bro

Forever? Hopefully not.

Being a Raiders fan is a bummer, my friend. But you'll have to pry them from my cold dead hands. And cetera.

Bowers looks amazing 😍 🤩 😍

Brock going to be 1st round pick next year after he breaks the single season TE receptions record as a rookie.

The record is 116 held by Zach Ertz.

I know everybody loves season long projections after two games and Brock is on pace for 127 catches right now :shades:

The Coachspeak Index
#Raiders HC Antonio Pierce on when he realized Brock Bowers would have a big impact on the offense:

“The day he walked in that door. We knew we was just getting a blue-chipper.”

people were out on Brock Bowers because of his landing spot

but the fact that the Raiders already had a good tight end in Michael Mayer and then STILL drafted Bowers 13th overall was a huge buy signal

After a bunch of trades in 2022/2023 that worked out really well, I ended up with 1st and 7th overall in a 16 team dynasty, 1 QB, full PPR. Tried to move up to #4 so I could grab Bowers to pair up with MHJ, but no takers. Between getting drafted by the Raiders and a couple teams grabbing QBs early, he fell to 7th. Sometimes the best trades are the ones you don't make. Can't imagine trading him at this point.

Good stuff

Along those lines, if the Falcons had Cousins and drafted Penix anyways at 8th overall, much like Brock Bowers, what does that tell you?
-I know the joke, it's the Falcons but just using the same logic which I agree with looking back
I should have been more excited about Bowers landing in Vegas
