Any chance Raiders without Ruggs put Waller and Moreau out there together more?

DARREN WALLER TE, LAS VEGAS RAIDERS
The Athletic's Vic Tafur said the loss of Henry Ruggs has allowed Raiders opponents to focus on stopping Darren Waller.
As Waller drafters know all too well, the tight end's stats are way down from his outstanding 2020 campaign. Opposing defenses are using bracket coverage against Waller -- taking away underneath targets while preventing big plays over the top of the secondary. That's been easier to execute since the Raiders lost downfield speedster Ruggs, who was released last month after causing a car accident that killed Tina Tintor. “There’s a lot of ways and situations where there’s a lot of bodies around me,” said Waller, who saw far more single coverage in 2019 and 2020 than he has in 2021. “There aren’t as many opportunities where it frees up where I am getting a good look." Vegas offensive coordinator Greg Olson this week called Waller the team's "best player" and said he wants to find more ways to get the ball to Waller. “Without giving anything away, we’ll just continue to work ways to get him the ball,” he said. Through Week 10, Waller's peripherals are intact: His 11.2 yards per catch is identical to last year's mark and his 8.87 targets per game is near his 9.1 mark from 2020. Waller in Week 11 plays a Bengals defense that has given up a low 4.1 catches and 43.2 yards per game to tight ends this season.

TE is pretty weak overall, the weekly upside is basically enough to keep starting him unless you happen to own one of the few better optionsDifficult keeping this guy on the roster. Potential is there but the offense is terrible and his output is suffering. Have to keep riding with him based completely on "What if?"
Exactly. TE is weekly roulette. If you hit, it's usually big time.TE is pretty weak overall, the weekly upside is basically enough to keep starting him unless you happen to own one of the few better options

Agreed, I don’t understand all of the complaining. I know people drafted him to be in the top 3 but he isn’t that far off. And guys saying it is hard to keep him on their roster are delusional with what the rest of the TE landscape looks like.he’s still the #5 TE ppg in ppr since week 5.
True. Part of my #####ing about this is my league's requirement to field a TE. Would prefer it to be a flex or superflex spot. There's not enough good TE play week to week in a 12-14 team league so it just seems a waste to me. When the volume is there Waller is fine but being somewhat dependent on LV's offense is nerve wracking at times.he’s still the #5 TE ppg in ppr since week 5.

Darren Waller (knee) is questionable to return for Week 12 against the Cowboys.
Waller struggled to stand up after having his leg rolled up on following a 20-yard catch. Foster Moreau and Daniel Helm will take his spot inline in the interim.

Darren Waller's MRI showed he avoided a major knee injury and suffered only a strained IT band.
We don't yet have a clear timeline on Waller's return, but the MRI was excellent news considering the potential alternatives. Foster Moreau should still be added from waivers as a contingency, but it's possible that Waller's absence could be short. The Raiders play Washington in Week 13 and Kansas City in Week 14. Waller will slot back in as an elite TE1 as soon as he's able to return.

Best possible scenario, even if he misses a week or two.Darren Waller's MRI showed he avoided a major knee injury and suffered only a strained IT band.
Raiders coach Rich Bisaccia said Darren Waller (knee) is considered week-to-week.
Waller suffered a strained IT band in the Raiders' Thanksgiving loss to the Cowboys. Foster Moreau looks likely to draw his second start of the year in Week 13. Las Vegas takes on a struggling Washington defense, teeing Moreau up for a TE1 outing. He played on 100 percent of the Raiders' snaps and posted a 6/60/1 line in his previous start. Moreau is the best pickup at tight end for fantasy managers looking for a streamer.

Darren Waller (knee) did not practice Wednesday.
Waller's status doesn't come as a surprise. Raiders coach Rich Bisaccia called him week-to-week with a strained IT band on Monday. Waller avoided a major injury but he still looks likely to miss Week 13. Foster Moreau played every offensive snap in his one start earlier this year and should be expected to earn the same role this week. He'll be a low-end TE1 and the premier streamer of the week if Waller is ruled out.

Darren Waller (knee) remained sidelined for Thursday's practice.
More specifically, there was "no sign of him" at practice. There has been zero indication Waller is going to suit up against the Football Team after going down on Thanksgiving, leaving Foster Moreau as the Raiders' likely starting tight end and a TE2 streamer. Waller will probably be formally ruled out on Friday.

Raiders coach Rich Bisaccia said Darren Waller (knee) is considered day-to-day.
Waller was considered week-to-week before missing the Raiders' Week 13 game against Washington. The new designation from Bisaccia provides some optimism that he will be back to face the Chiefs this week. Foster Moreau drew the start last week but only reeled in one of his three targets for 34 yards. Despite the lackluster outing, Moreau would remain a solid streaming option if he is once again the starter.

Darren Waller (knee) is not practicing Wednesday.
Waller missed last week after initially getting hurt on Thanksgiving against the Cowboys. He's considered more "day to day" now, but Waller's status for Week 14 against the Chiefs remains uncertain. In his absence last week, Foster Moreau disappointed with one catch for 34 yards on three targets despite playing 85% of the snaps.

Darren Waller (knee, back) is out for Week 14 against the Chiefs.
Foster Moreau will fill in for Waller again against the Chiefs. While Moreau offers some pass-catching ability, he doesn't come close to replicating Waller's impact on the offense. Hunter Renfrow will likely be tasked with picking up the additional slack, as he did against Washington. Waller will look to return in Week 15 when the Raiders take on the Browns.

YepDamn. It.
Yep
week 1 of our playoffs and I get to roll with Gerald Everett, who netted -0.3 points last week.![]()
Same boat. CMC, Walker, and Gus Edwards hurt. I am limping into the playoffs but you can’t control injuries.Total bust. Started of strong this year with CMC, AJB, Waller. Poor me. Pity me.
“I’m your Huckleberry” (sorry, couldn’t resist)Same boat. CMC, Walker, and Gus Edwards hurt. I am limping into the playoffs but you can’t control injuries.
Yep. My 1st rounder too. Would've been better making a different pick and streaming a TE all season.Waller is out again this week. Bust of a pick.
I had Mike Davis too! He wasn’t an injury problem. He just stinks.“I’m your Huckleberry” (sorry, couldn’t resist)
Started off CMC, DHop, Waller, JRob, Dak, Mike Davis, Trey Sermon.
Shocker: I missed the playoffs in that league.
He didn't today. No news outside of that.Steering back to actual Waller news, does anyone know if he's practicing this week?
I was hoping he might be back for the finals this week but he ended up on the Covid list so it looks like I am going to go to my backup plan again. What a bust this year!
https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/football/news/raiders-darren-waller-lands-on-covid-list/
I think this is a very small chance he could play but everything I have read says it is highly unlikely.Do the new COVID rules allow for him to play this week (if he tests negative), or is it a certainty that he's out? FBG ranking still suggest he might play (non-zero stats for this week).
Has to be activated off covid list by 4 PM ET today to have any chance to play.Does he have to get activated today to have a chance to play tomorrow?
Well I lay my head on the railroad trackTotal bust. Started of strong this year with CMC, AJB, Waller. Poor me. Pity me.
