I like the player but he needs more usage before I can get too excited about him.
Per PFF Week 1:
“In this game, Sanders was up to 60.9% of the snaps. That included leading the way on early downs at 57.6% and continuing to take 78% of the third-down snaps. However, in two-tight-end sets, Mitchell Evans was on the field more often than Sanders, who caught two passes for 27 yards. While this was a small step in the right direction, you’re better off rostering nearly any other lead-receiving tight end.”
Per PFF Week 2:
“Ja’Tavion Sanders caught seven passes for 54 yards and played a higher percentage of Carolina's snaps this week (66%) than last. However, that snap rate isn’t high enough to trust him going forward.”
Also had some drops and still has some work to do as a blocker. It’s worth noting that 7 of his 9 targets came late in the game (though none in the final drive). Good speculative add though considering how underwhelming the other Panthers targets outside of McMillan. Thought it was interesting that Renfrow caught 2 TDs. Just not sure this is an offense to invest in.
I saw Jeremy Fowler tweet out yesterday it was big opportunity for James Mitchell.
Hard to make any sense of it to me. I got some shaky TE situations in my TEP leagues but not to point I've wanted to get into his mix yet.
If that's the former Lion James Mitchell, I wouldn't get your hopes up. No speed, no moves - pretty much just catches 5 yard dump offs and falls down.

Sanders is still super young at 22. Ended up getting 9 targets in game 2 which was really promising. He's my long term stash in dynasty sitting on my taxi. Might take a while to be a consistent starter but random scrubs don't get 9 targets. Being injured isn't helping his case though.
