Tebow was giving Thomas "no balls" (1 Viewer)

Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas said Thursday that he wasn't "sad" to hear Tim Tebow was traded because he "wasn't getting no balls" last season.

Although Tebow was portrayed as a locker room leader, Thomas revealed that teammates would call him out by saying, "Tim you gotta make that throw. You gotta read the defenses better." Thomas can expect better throws if not more volume from Peyton Manning. As Rotoworld's Mike Clay points out, no wide receiver in the NFL was seeing a greater percentage of his team's targets late in the 2011 season.
True say.Not a whole lotta balls were going around in DEN.

Thomas is going to be in for a wakeup call though, if Manning starts calling him out for not handling balls properly.

Yeah, I think some of the Broncos receivers might have some issues when the sheriff comes to town. I bet it is kind of hard going from being "the guy" in some senses on a team to "the guy that better shut up and listen". People will need to know really quickly that Manning runs the show.

This is one reason why I think Decker is the guy to own. Calling out his ex-QB shows the character of this guy and unless he matures quickly, I'm not sure he'll mesh with Manning. Decker is a hard worker and you don't hear this stuff coming from him.

(TheHuddle) Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas does not sound upset over the departure of former QB Tim Tebow. Thomas felt Tebow was often unable to find him in the passing game, even though Tebow threw him that famous slant pass in overtime of the Wild Card playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers last season. 'I ain't going to say I was sad because the only thing they remember is that pass,' Thomas said. 'You gotta go back and look at the rest of the games. I wasn't getting no balls and you had to make some of these plays where some players were open and he is not making the throws. But I don't want to talk bad about Tim, but hey I am happy we got Peyton.'

Analysis: Wow, Demaryius. This Tebow guy put you on endless ESPN and NFL Films highlight reels forever with that throw against Pittsburgh... and you're complaining? For the record, Tebow targeted you nearly 10 times per game over your last six games together.

Thomas has a chance to be a real beast, but I see very little reason to say anything badly about him and Tebow. Seems like a dumb thing to say.

Hey Bay-Bay, you had 745 receiving yards in your last 7 games with the Teebs. If you think your production with Manning is going to top that 106 yard per game mark, you better think again.

First of all, his statement is false. He saw just as many balls as your typical top 30 wr under Tebow's watch. Second, what a dumb move. Even if he was right he still shows true lack of character and class in kicking a guy in the media after he doesn't have to man up to him in the locker room. Plus he sounds uneducated, thus making him look even worse.

With all that said, I could care less about all that because I want to win fantasy championships. I'll be after him.

In an interview with WQXI-AM 790 in Atlanta, WR Demaryius Thomas said the attention placed on Tim Tebow rubbed some Broncos the wrong way. "Everything on ESPN was all about Tim. That bothered some players," Thomas said. "I felt like it was a team thing. If it wasn't for the defense most of the time there wouldn't be any supposed 'Tim Tebow Time.'" Thomas added that Tebow was "not making the throws" to open receivers as often as was necessary.

:lmao: GeniusHope DT likes all the Tebow supporters hating him the rest of his time in Denver. When you already have a fractured fan base, the last thing you do is go out and choose sides on the polarizing guy that fractured it.

if i was payton i would throw about 100 rocket velocity passes at this guy trying to bounce them off of his head for the first few practices until he gets the message that he should shut up and catch the ball wrs are great when they shut up and run but no one asked them to talk anyhow keep the mouth guard in i hope payton teaches him and then smashes in his face mask and says along with the td id like a little respect robert duvall cowboy style take it to the bank brohanco fans

Oh no someone said something less than favorable about Tebow

Did anyone actually listen to the whole interview Thomas?

When ask what he thought his opportunities when Tebow 1st started. He mentioned that he was coming off of an injury so Tebow’s 1st start was also his 1st start so he didn’t have any idea what type of opportunities he would get.

He said he got a couple of balls in his 1st start and he thought they had a connection, but then there were games that he didn’t get many balls. He said during those games he felt like he was back at Georgia Tech getting only 4 targets a game. And then he said toward the end of the season he was getting more balls thrown his way and he was happy with that.

Gee, I don't know why all the Bronco players wouldn't enjoy Tebow getting all the credit for the team's success. Obviously they're haters.
Thomas's Twitter account was full of hateful tweets directed at him after his comments.

How was what ESPN did Tebow's fault? Every time I heard Tebow interviewed, he always gave credit to the rest of the team. I never heard him claim the credit for himself. Sounds like DT's real problem is that he isn't being treated like a star and he is jealous of the attention Tebow got. That won't get any better with Manning in town.

Really? A WR complaining that he didn't get the ball more often than he thought he should have is now news?

While thomas complains about not having balls, decker is out there practising and catching passes from manning.

Yes, because the complaint contained the name "Tebow".Which is kind of funny that Thomas's complaint about Tebow getting all the exposure, is only getting nationally reported because it involves Tebow.

Isn't Thomas recovering from injury?edit: Apparently he is.

There is a reason why third-year wide receiver Demaryius Thomas hasn’t been running routes with fellow receiver Eric Decker for quarterback Peyton Manning in Denver — he recently had surgery on his pinky finger (which he fractured last September) to remove a pin, according to CBS4‘s Vic Lombardi and Thomas, himself.

Sounds like most of the posts in most of the Tebow threads.
