Ted Lasso (Apple TV - Season 3 coming March 2023!!!) (2 Viewers)

“I feel like the story wrapped up in a satisfactory way” lololololololololol guys, Apple threw a giant bag of cash with the cartoon dollar sign on it at all the participants and told them to sign here. Nobody involved actually cares about how it ends.
“Nobody cares about our streaming app anymore. I know! Bring back Ted Lasso and they’ll all return!”

Yup. You’re gonna see a lot of ads for Apple shows before each episode. If they are smart they’re run a 90 second ad during each episode as well. Nobody is watching that app.

Reminds me of one of my favorite all time shows Scrubs. They nailed a perfect ending for the series and them got greedy for one extra season trying to spin it off into an intern show with limited appearances from the regulars that was awful. It didnt ruin the show for me as I just ignore the last season but hoping thats not the fate here.

Yeah, I loved the show....but the ending kinda felt pretty much perfect. And how exactly are they gonna bring back Ted with Roy installed as new manager. Are they really gonna have Ted manage the women's team or something? How do you explain him going BACK to England after heading home and reuniting with his family? Just makes very little sense.

The show honestly makes more sense without Sudeikis at this point.
It's not that hard - Ted misses England and the team and brings his whole family over. Takes a job in the front office instead of managing. Ted's kid takes up soccer and he coaches the kids team.
The shiz show known as youth sports would provide incredible content if they went that way. Moms offering a shag in exchange for kids playing time is a softball really. So much content.

Danger Force was horrific in comparison to the goat kids show Henry Danger now that you mention it.

binged all 3 seasons over the weekend (second watch). what a great show. yes, there were some misses (everything Keeley in Season 3), but overall so well done. It doesn't need a season 4, but I'll watch it.

Obviously Ted comes back to England to take over at City when Pep leaves at the end of the season. He must rebuild that club when they are dropped to the 2nd division after the FFP violations.

Looks like Jamie Tartt may not be returning, at least as a regular.
That's a big problem. He was the best character at times towards the end.
Two great lines in 10 seconds.

Just noticed the "Talk to me geese" reference in the last episode :bag:

My daughter got me the book Believe which is an oral history of the Ted Lasso show. I have only read a little amount so far but here are some interesting tidbits:

* The actor who plays Roy was not expected to be an actor on the show. He was hired as a writer. When writing the early episodes before casting was done, he started to think he really understood Roy. He put together a tape, and got the part.

* The actors who went on to play Jamie and Ned originally auditioned for the Higgins role

* The foil in season one was not suppose to be Jamie. It was originally written to be a Latin flair player, from South America or Italy. They could not find the right actor. The actor who got the role went in and did a Manchester accent and that won people over to change the character over to what we now know as Jamie.

* The famous line “Football is Life”, did not come from the writers. The actor who played Danny Rojas was on a track to be a pro player but blew out his knee and went into acting. During the audition he said the now famous line. One of the writers in the room “oh my god….we are going to have you say that constantly and it will be the greatest thing ever”

* On one of Beards many white board presentations, the opposing team players names are all taken from the movie Victory.

* The actor who went on to play Sam rewrote his audition scene, something that is considered a serious breach of etiquette in the business. The character was originally from Ghana but the actor himself was a Nigerian who grew up in England. He rewrote his audition scene to match his upbringing. And everyone was sold.

Have a feeling this is not gonna work out. You can only play the "Fish out of water" card for so long and it really feels like they ended it on the perfect note.
Rumor has it he will be coaching a womens soccer team in the UK. By season 7, he'll be coaching an All-galatic transgender, Elvis impersonators, currently incarcerated alien team

This has potential to be good if they can start a new arc completely. The characters are established and the writing has been stellar.

But if this is just a one off cash grab season, forget it.

I wasn't thrilled by this news. While the end of S3 was good, the season as a whole was a big dropoff from 1 and 2, both of which were all-timers, IMO (I call Ted Lasso one of the best shows ever merely off the strength of those two seasons), and it is hard to imagine that they will recapture the magic for a S4 for what appears to be more of a cash grab than anything. I get the cast wanting to do it if more money is being offered, that said.

Don't disagree, but maybe Lasso becomes part of the water and there is a new fish out of water.

Women's flag football probably gets a shot also.

Maybe he's coaching a women's team in the US?
Maybe he is flying over to help set up the AFC RIchmond Women's team and isn't staying long and it's not about him?

The end of the show was good. I am hopeful S4 is good and done right. We'll see!

Cautiously optimistic. I feel like they wouldn’t be doing this if they didn’t have a really good plan. While I agree season 3 was a step down, it also had a very obvious resolution and ending. I feel like to bring Ted back full time, you have to do a time jump to where his kid is grown up but then that kind of blows up the rest of the characters as they would have aged out of being active players. But if Ted is only coming back part-time is it really Ted Lasso or is it a spinoff? Does he come establish a women’s team or does he come help the men’s team out of a crisis or something?

i tell people ted lasso is the greatest show ive ever seen ive never watched a show that made me just have to work to keep it together about once an episode and i think it ended absolutely perfectly to the point that i drive around listening to father to son sometimes and not even joking i think it made me a better person to have watched it so you bet your keester i am skeptical but you can also bet i will watch every second of season 4 take that to the bank bromigos

I stand by what I said last year, there is no need for a season 4 and it can only hurt what was one of the best short run TV series ever. It seems a blatant cash grab to me and needless.

Will I watch every episode? Of course I will, don't be obtuse.

brohans i watched lasso episode 1 as the first apple show i ever watched and i knew about 20 minutes in that i was hooked and by the end of the first season i knew it was the best thing id ever watched it is so ridiculous that a tv show picked me up as much as it did but there you have it take that to the bank bromigos

This is the most surprising thing about the show. Going in I never expected it to have such big life lessons and to actually push me into wanting to do better. I am right there with you brohan.
