Very cool, thanks now I can tie your site into My Yahoo and save me some extra clicks..

Not sure if the Shark Pool is updating correctly though..Still playing around with that ...

I was thinking the same thing

I asked "Memphis" in the board upgrade thread and thought he forgot or just wasn't into it.

Thrilled that functionality is here now

How do you use the RSS feeds? (sorry...technically challenged here)
Check out the RSS feed over in the FFA...descriptions of how to link to Feed to various sources including desktop widgets, RSS readers, etc...

RSS = Really Simple Syndication

Basically RSS is code that allows you to access news/feeds from a source. If you have Google homepage you can add this to your homepage to view FBG news there.

Would imagine Yahoo, etc have the same capabilities but don't use them

FYI, MyFantasyLeague also does this so you can post league scores, news to your Google homepage

Thanks for the info. However, if you are on the internet anyway, why wouldn't you just go to the FBG's webpage for the news/updates? An RSS feed seems unnecessary to me.

I think my homepage is just the Yahoo page, but I might as well change it to FBG's! :hifive:

First of all...hi CKev...I am guessing you are the one and only from BFHP:)As far as why use RSS...if you read alot of news sources and other forums and such, it's a nice way to get up-to-date info in one place, not to mention the uses for getting info to small mobile devices.

I think this has to do with the feed sorting. There are basically two ways I can sort the threads on the feed:- Based on last post time (so replies will "bump" a thread to the top)- Based on original post time (so that only new threads will be added to the feed and they'll be added at the top)There are arguments to be made for both of these but for now I've set up the feeds to be based on original post time. So you're always guaranteed to get a notification whenever a new thread is posted. And since only the first post is included in the feed anyway, it kinda makes sense to sort them that way.

Exactly. On my Google homepage I get financial news, local news, world news (from the sources I like best) and now FBG news all in one place. If I log into to check my email I can get an update on everything in 30 seconds or so

It saves some clicks and lets you see headlines immediately. I was able to add my ESPN baseball league to "My Yahoo", so when I bring the homepage up I immediately see my player news or add/drops right there under news headlines. For those much more tech-savvy than I, can we just go to Add Content on My Yahoo and find an option to add the FBG feed? For ESPN, I somehow got a prompt from Firefox to add it when I was on it one day. :clueless:

I posted this link above...seems some guys are having a hard time following directions...

I mentioned this in the other related thread, but I'll mention it here too. :P Awesome addition to the site. I added FBG news blogger, FBG Podcasts and the FBG forums to my iGoogle homepage.

I can add the News Blogger RSS, but not for any other part of FBG.
all they have so far is the news blogger...and the forums (links are at bottom of forums click on the rss logo)
Is there a way to get the Shark Pool feed onto My Yahoo? I also can only find the Blogger using the Add Content feature there. I see the logo you mean at the bottom of this page but,as far as I can tell, if you subscribe that way, you have to access it via Favorites in IE ?????

How to Add RSS Feeds to MyYahoo....This goes for any RSS link you have...

Once you find a RSS link:

1) Right-click on the link and select "Copy Shortcut" OR write it down.

Goto to your MyYahoo Page:

1) Click "Add Content" from your MyYahoo Page.

2) At the Add Content page, next to the Find Button in the Find Context box - Click on Add RSS by URL

3) Right-Click and paste link in the box OR Manually type the RSS address in the box.

Instructions are also on this page.

4) Hit "Add" and it finalize it can find your RSS and put it at the bottom of your MyYahoo Page.

5) Move your RSS section around like any other section.

I have FBG feeds, Rotoworld.com, MFL leagues and CBS Sports in mine.

Great way to contain all your information on one page and save you from clicking all over the place.

Ckev
