I think that taking the original iPhone to 3G speed was revolutionary. Then doubling the speed to 3GS (which Apple claimed was 2x as fast) was similarly exciting. The next logical step would have been going to 4G.
Short of that, and short of a Verizon announcement, why not work in cloud based iTunes (via the Lala acquisition)? Why not make the video chat open to any video client? I just think that with the Incredible, EVo, and new line of Bolds coming out (with BB 6) that Apple didn't maker as big of a splash as they normally do. The iPhone is a great phone and the iPhone 4 is no doubt an improvement - I just don't see it winning any more market share then if they'd simply left the 3GS out there.
