WOW!!!!!Video calling is the "one more thing?"
Maybe Jony is on VZW? Please?WOW!!!!!Video calling is the "one more thing?"
Maybe Jony is on VZW? Please?I do understand resolution but size is still an issue.Touchscreen: My fingers still take up the same percentage of the screen. So what's the point of buying an ipad when you can buy this instead? A bigger screen?Great resolution is nice, but a 3.5" screen is still a 3.5" screen for viewing and touching.
The increased resolution is HUGE news for viewing. This will be nothing like viewing on a 3GS or similar screen. It is especially big for e-books, where the screen resolution now exceeds standard print resolution.
As an example, think of the difference between viewing two televisions when one is standard def and the other is HD.
Seriously?WOW!!!!!Video calling is the "one more thing?"
It's called FaceTime. WiFi only. iPhone 4 to iPhone 4. No setup.

We need to work with the carriers? Oh boyRequires WiFi. Boo. Then again, everyone video-calling would kill any mobile carrier's 3G network![]()
I would have used even bigger type if it was offered.Seriously?WOW!!!!!Video calling is the "one more thing?"

International carriers are different.11:36AM "The video and audio quality is great. Now it's going to be WiFi only in 2010. We need to work a little bit with the carriers..."

Again, hard to surprise thanks to Engadget. Make no mistake, video chat will a TON of these. Regular consumers won't know/don't care if a few other phones had it first. This is groundbreaking and drop-dead sexy in a mass consumer product like the iPhone. I can see the ads already...Pretty lame one more thing. He already announced the front facing camera. Was this a surprise?
Which looks like iChat?Looks a lot like the EVO video chat.
Interesting. If you like the iPhone already (and I know you do) then I imagine these features are significant upgrades and will be much appreciated and used. And if you're on ATT and don't mind the service then I'm sure its a good day. But the expectation has been for Apple to change the game every summer, leaving the competition in its path. I imagine Dan Hesse is probably pretty happy right about now considering Apple (1) didn't expand its potentiatl customer base and (2) can't boast about having the fastest phone.I would have used even bigger type if it was offered.Seriously?WOW!!!!!Video calling is the "one more thing?"![]()
It's true. Apple really hit this one out of the park. Will sell like crazy, again.Again, hard to surprise thanks to Engadget. Make no mistake, video chat will a TON of these. We're talking mobile devices here chief.Which looks like iChat?Looks a lot like the EVO video chat.
I really, really doubt that.Interesting. If you like the iPhone already (and I know you do) then I imagine these features are significant upgrades and will be much appreciated and used. .Yep, they timed the EVO release perfectly.Interesting. And they'll take the phone back when they realize Grandma doesn't have Wifi at the nursing home and junior doesn't have WiFI in the auditorium where he's graduating high school.Again, hard to surprise thanks to Engadget. Perhaps, but they've only "changed the game" with a phone once. There is nothing revolutionary in the upgrades. The Apple game changer this summer was the iPad.Interesting. Look we all know you are about as big of a fanboy as can be, and that's cool. I'd like to hear what was groundbreaking that was mentioned today, please.Sprint is doing backflips right now, they couldn't have timed the EVO release better.I really, really doubt that.Interesting. I've heard of many customers being offered early upgrades for an additional 2 year contract.I think AT&T is looking to lockdown as many customers as possible and with a recent jacking up of the early termination fee, is AT&T planning for the end of iPhone exclusivity or just more competition from the Android market on competing carriers?11:41AM "AT&T is going to make an incredibly generous upgrade offer. If your contract expires at any time in 2010, you can upgrade to the iPhone 4. You can get it up to six months early."Very nice to see.
June 21st.When is iOS 4 available? Can I do this when I get home tonight?
Depends on your needs, and your budget, but if it's one or the other, I'd get the iPad... but I'm waiting for the next model... with the camera that will use FaceTime!any reason to not just keep your older iphone and buy the ipad?![]()
Of course it will. Apple is a marketing machine and if they marketed the iRock it would fly off the shelf faster than the Pet Rock did in the mid-70's.It's true. Ok, so really only the bolded. Gotcha. Makes sense how it will take the other companies 2 years to catch up.Fast, best display on the market, thinnest phone with similar abilities on the market, great battery life, gyro, front facing camera, HD video. More. Watch Stevie again. This thing is pretty magical.Based on the screen resolution and video camera? As much as I am refusing to switch to ATT for the iPhone (network issues, odd pricing/plans now, etc), it looks like it will be another few years before phones yet again catch the iPhone. Might have to reconsider my thinking.![]()
And the mass market story will be just that; Apple has changed the game in comparison to the previous standard: the iPhone 3Gs. Apple is the market benchmark, it is up to the competitors to eclipse the iPhone to attract attention. Even if Apple only put themselves on par/slightly ahead of the competition, they win based on mindshare and desirability. The only story the Android phones have is being "more advanced". Otherwise they are just the iPhone alternative on the other carriers. 99% of the public is nowhere near as tech-savy as the typical FBG. Things like processor speed and "open standards" mean nothing to them.Interesting. Backflips? The iPhone will destroy the EVO in sales.

Huh? I'm not saying each one of those is new. I'm saying all of them combined make for a great phone. Throw in OS4 and yes, other companies are far behind. How's battery life on that EVO? Video chat work as well? Can you edit HD video on there?Ok, so really only the bolded. Gotcha. $99 for an 8GB iphone 3GS (with iOS4) ain't a bad deal.
It looks like they made some nice improvements, but lets not kid ourselves if Apple trotted the same guts as their last model in a slightly slimmer shell it would sell like crazy. There is just an Apple can do no wrong mentality out there right now. It's true. Apple really hit this one out of the park. Will sell like crazy, again.Again, hard to surprise thanks to Engadget. Did it ever occur to you guys that by mocking that aspect it only made it funnier to some apple fans to fire it off sarcastically at every opportunity given how it gets under certain folks skin? Just saying....Please stop this.Fast, best display on the market, thinnest phone with similar abilities on the market, great battery life, gyro, front facing camera, HD video. More.
