I was at a bar last night and went to www.nfl.com on my winmo phone and got some crappy WAP site that did not even work. I don't think the phone is restricting you, the site is probably checking what version of what browser you are using, recognizes the browser as a mobile browser application and serves up the scaled down site as a result. So regarding Safari, is there anyway to change the settings in the iPhone to let you view FULL web pages as opposed to the 'mobile' versions? Such as the ones for CBS/ESPN, etc.? I googled it a few times but wasn't able to find anything (probably since I'm not exactly sure what to search...)

I thought one of the big deals for the iPhone was that it was full web-browsing?
. 2nd he's not talking about the iPhone specifically, just movies on cell phones. But he makes a good point- most films are meant to be seen in a theater, under certain conditions. The same is true for watching movies on an airplane... in fact, I'd rather watch a movie on my iPhone, than an airplane. What about watching movies in a lousy 640x480 standard definition format.
If you haven't purchased it and were planning on it, I'd stay away for now. So far I've spent $10 for an app that doesn't work.

The form letter that Sling is sending customers that ask about the iPhone says that Apple is freezing them out.
True or not, I'm in favor of *any* market pressure that incents Apple to loosen the reigns on app approval. Apple by their current strategy is stoking the fires of the iPhone unlocking movement. They're going to have to start moving faster and being more open or the underground market is going to start moving into the mainstream. All it would take would be for one spurned developer to release a compelling enough app that requires a jailbroken iPhone and monetize it, and there go the floodgates.
