The Bourne Legacy (1 Viewer)

He was also great in The Town (I think that's the title). I originally was pissed Damon wasn't doing this...but having gone back and watched the movies, Damon wasn't anything special. The choreography, music, and story/etc. were the good parts. Damon was passable. Renner is a MUCH more believable Bourne-esque action-hero/super-killer agent imo.
I disagree on Damon, he did a fantastic job in scenes like the one in the airport which I believe is the opening of the 2nd film...he's not acting in front of a blue screen, Damon was very good in all 3 movies. He is believable when he is acting out of vengeance for his fiance/wife, i really thought Damon was about the best he has ever been on film. Not much interest in the new one, catch it on Netflix.

Not bad at all. I enjoyed it. The people I went with were not pleased. But the movie was pretty much exactly what I thought it would be. At least rent it.

If the film is good it could be a breakthrough for Renner going to the A-List.Felt his acting presence was bigger than his roles in MI:4 and Avengers.
He was up for best actor Oscar for hurt locker wasn't he? That's pretty breakthrough. First time I saw him was on that bravo reality show on young actors. Oscars is a long way from that.

Yah, I enjoyed it, like you said, pretty much what I expected. The "muttering" in the theater after really surprised me though, heard a number of negative comments. I also hadn't read any of the Bourne books expect Ludlum's so I wasn't concerned that it wasn't following a book story or expecting it to.Only thing I really didn't care for was not really
wrapping up anything in regards to the gov't folks. They shut down the program without any fallout except 2 people getting away. I figure the point was that this kind of thing just happens regularly, and is probably leaving things open for a sequel, but it did seem a bit incomplete without anymore closure in that regard.

Like many have said it was better then expected. Great actors all over the screen and Norton really shined in his scenes.

Liked it better then Ultimatum and Supremacy despite Renner only being adequate.

I thought Renner was a lot better than adequate

I don't know why, but I didn't really care for this movie.

It was just...messy. The quick edit/shaky cam style feels contrived now.

Renner isn't given much to do. Rachel Weisz, who I really like, is simply asked to look afraid for two hours.

It doesn't build any momentum and then just...ends. I couldn't believe the abruptness of the ending.

It was worth watching once, but I wouldn't want to own it like the first three.

He was nominated for The Town, as well. He's good.

:goodposting: I saw it and this pretty much describes most of how I felt.I don't think i'd stop to watch it on TNT like the first 3

It is not even close to being better than Ultimatum or Supremacy.

I agree that the end was abrupt, but I still enjoyed the movie

I agree with most of this criticism, but think I felt it was passable. But no, I don't need to see it again.
But, yeah, the last half hour was a chase. There was nothing at the end of it, save for the Landy coal-raking which had already been strongly foreshadowed. So, it was just a chase to escape.
