X-Files Coming Back - The Truth is out there! (1 Viewer)

They decided the lameness of how the show fizzled out the first time wasn't enougn
 I had such high hopes for these 6 episodes that they would attach a better ending to the original show... instead we got this crappy attempt to reboot  the show.

Really, just kinda bad.

Interesting first episodes, then 4 episodes not connected to the BIG THING that got them all excited at the end of the first episode, then this last episode that is just a mishmash of random scenes, filler dialogue, and ends with an abrupt cliffhanger.

I heard FOX aired the 6 out of order, but even still, what a waste.
The first and last episodes were always going to be "My Struggle" and "My Struggle II".  The four in the middle, it really didn't matter the order.

Though they did air them 1005, 1003, 1002 and 1004.

I know, it was just dumb to start off with a BIG THING and then drop it for four episodes then pick it up again suddenly. Plus, the "II" part was just crap. It wasn't very well done, the story barely existed. It was 40 minutes of blah-blah-blah then 5 minutes of buildup for a cliffhanger.

If they were going to do just 6 episodes, I'd rather they have picked up one story thread and carried it through the whole thing. Not one episode, four fillers, then a busted finale.
totally agree. I'd have been happy with some of the comedy stuff mixed in or dominating a couple of episodes, but with the bottom-line story arc running through all 6 episodes. how they did this was a complete mess.

Wow, wasn't expecting that to be the end. Now I have no idea why they blew up that girl, partly because I honestly don't know if the people who blew her up were the same as the one in the ending or had something to do with TSM or had something to do with O'Malley's team or was just plain aliens. So confused, didn't really seem to tell us anything other than TSM is bad, but wants to make the world better with reducing population and that Scully has alien DNA and that can save the world.

Scully may have the DNA, but it was pretty much too late, wasn't it? Even if the CDC commandeered every available lab to make the "cure", many tens of millions in the US alone would die before widespread inoculation would have been delivered. Not to mention the notion of 60's tech being able to splice DNA into a living human's genome to begin with. This couldn't be done even in 2016. And then Scully, in a day, figures out how deliver this cure in an IV form, that will splice into other humans...and cure them?

The whole thing was just dumb. Pathetically so.

I can't believe there is going to be another season of this drivel. Anyway, I sat through all six painful episodes. Never again.

Just watched the finale. Dumb.

I did enjoy the one-offs (didn't get to see Babylon). So I'll probably still watch.

Over the past few days I've watched the Two Fathers/One Son two-part episode from Season 6 of the original series.  It didn't get any better than that.  Those episodes were the peak of the show and would have served as a finale that would have gone down among the greats.
