The day after... (1 Viewer)

Well, ok, so there might be a few odd fantasy things going on during the NFL playoffs. And ok, I do believe in the ol' "there is no such thing as an offseason" in football (even fantasy football). But there won't

be any games played for fantasy for 8 long months. Am I the only one in mourning?

September through December seems to just fly by!

It's a tough slog until the NFL draft... at least then we can start discussing rookies and their teams & prospects leading up to FF drafts. So it's like four months, at least, not eight with no FF.

No problem for me. NBA and more importantly MLB will keep me busy in the sports department.

I love the break from the NFL. It is much needed. And this season to be frank has been really a wakeup call to the NFL on many fronts. The game is now suffering from over exposure and has become so corporate now (as all sports have) it is actually disgusting, way too many BS rules in favor of the offense and passing game, too many head first hits still happening, and still too many overpaid rookies which needs to be addressed in the next CBA big time. Replay needs to go away (I am old school in that regard it is a curse) it has made the officiating so much worse now but I know it won't. Too much money on the line.

So long Fantasy Football. I will not miss ya....but as soon as the NFL draft happens...that bug will rear it's head again and we will all be talking about rookie drafts for our dynasty leagues.

Just much more closer to the baseball season. :pickle:
:suds: Been playing FBB for 3 seasons and enjoy it way more than FF. The week long games even out things. One guy going off does not kill you like it does in FF. Plus everyday is like Sunday in FBB.In FBB it is better to be good than lucky due to the week long games, in FF is is better to be lucky than good.

in our 2 player keeper league we turn on player trading the day after the season ends...but until ESPN loads the next season and draft-pick trading is live, there isn't a lot of action in the off-season...and I miss it

Really? Well I guess if you only play in regular FF leagues and don't join any of the FF Playoff contests (and there are LOTS) or choose not to go to the mock draft forum here and get in the WSL drafts in a few weeks. Seems odd to be so heavily invested in FF and then YOU drop it after the regular season.

What is WSL?

Week 17 is always very sad for me. The few games that have playoff implications are nice, but just the feeling that there are two weekends of 4 games, then 2 games, then none, then the most overrated NFL game to watch as a fan - the Super Bowl. I don't think I will ever play in playoff FF because it's based on NFL teams winning and losing, so you are combining FF skill/strategy with NFL betting to make it even more random just on how many games your players will even play - not my cup of tea.

I play a FBB league just to fill the time some, but i completely abandon my team once July hits, so with that said, I may not even play this year - much more interested in watching some of the NBA playoffs and getting in-depth with my own dynasty rankings and all the off-season moves in the NFL.

I will do a fantasy playoff game, and then leading up to the Super Bowl is college signing day to keep my interest a bit. Football spring practice and the draft after that, leading into spring training and the baseball season. So while the intensity of keeping up with informtation isn't there, I have stuff to follow. Once the summer comes along, I begin to focus more on fantasy football again.

ya, it is a bummer. but I try to focus on the Nfl DRAFT and coaching changes, which are also important to me.

As a Yahoo league winner, I qualified to play in the Miller Lite Post Season Challenge on Facebook. Take on other fantasy league champs in the League of Greatness for the chance to win $3,000 cash $100 Visa gift cards (240 of them)!

Survivor Style.

I actually enjoy the break.

Of course, I'm enjoying it more as the champion.

I like watching week 17 and the NFL playoffs just for the games themselves, without rooting for individuals on seemingly every play.

It's fun during the fantasy season to be sure, but it's not really relaxing.

I've been an NFL fan far longer than I've been playing fantasy, so it's kind of nice to chill out.

Come April as the draft creeps up, I'll start to seriously look at 2011.

I actually find the first part of the off-season more bearable than the second part. The halves broken up by the NFL Draft. At least prior to the draft, there is NFL activity and developments. Once the draft and reviews happen it becomes a barren landscape for any news of any merit. And then even when training camps open up, it's like a false start because they get monotonous within days.
