I don't know how old you are but I think I shopped at Journeys when I was 15. Time to put on your big boy pants and dress like a man.

Not picking on you but pretty much all of those look like they'd be found in the discount rack at the Salvation Army - used.If I was gonna blow 4 hundo on a pair of shoes I'd probably pick up one of these guys

The ones with the expandable waist lines? Love them! They really do stand the test of time.I bought my first Levi stretch jean two years ago. After I wore a stretch jean I hated all my other jeans as they felt like cardboard. Probably had 5-6 pair that cost 60-100 that I wanted to toss. Have bought 3 pair of jeans since and all have had that little stretch that is so comfortable but you can`t tell.

The American Eagle extreme flex jeans are like that. I can't imagine going back to rigid jeans. The ones with the expandable waist lines? Love them! They really do stand the test of time.

Bad joke. Sorry. I just think the response to an honest effort to share some pretty affordable shoes was petty and pretentious. Journeys or not Onitsuka Tigers and Vans are a couple legit styles. I actually purchased these in a Vans store at $65+tax so seeing them at ~$42 shipped is pretty crazy. What are you, 5?
Don't pay any attention. This thread has been that way for years.Bad joke. Sorry. I just think the response to an honest effort to share some pretty affordable shoes was petty and pretentious. I'll let you guys get back to trashing $40 shoes in favor of their $400 counterparts.
NotedJust don't put on any white sneakers with jeans....huge fashion noob mistake.
Nice, but $160 is waaay too much. Not excited about spending 160 on low top sneakers but got these for casual use. https://www.weargustin.com/store/3421
Yeah I know. Looked for months and just couldn't find any I liked with the right combination of colors with the sole. Shoes are the one thing I don't mind spending on.Nice, but $160 is waaay too much.
Could be useful if I ran out of toilet paper #trashany ripndip fans here? their stuff is pricy but so cool. #### dude

I think it's a decent price for quality sneakers. Of course, I paid twice that for these Lanvins that look similar.Nice, but $160 is waaay too much.

No offense They are nice and I like them but if I saw a guy wearing those I would think they bought them at Kohls for 50.00 plus 30% off coupon with 10.00 in Kohl's cash.flapgreen said:Not excited about spending 160 on low top sneakers but got these for casual use. https://www.weargustin.com/store/3421

Might want to get off the defensive and listen to the advice given...This might be more up your alley: http://www.lifeisgood.com/men/
The responses in this thread are pettier than the girls I work with. Kind of incredible really. If I want fashion advice from posers advocating $400 vans with different words on the side I'll let you know.Might want to get off the defensive and listen to the advice given...

Ren, as a fellow Loo-villian, all I can say is this...our fashion does not compute to the outside world. The responses in this thread are pettier than the girls I work with. Kind of incredible really. If you're spending that much they ought to look more interesting than a Shoe Carnival special. I'm having a hard time following the justification for spending that much money on plain looking stuff. My hat's off to people who can afford to make decisions like that but man aliveI pay up for sneakers so they don't have words on the side.
Mostly it's getting those classic styles but made well with quality materials rather than glued together. But I agree that you should be able to do that for less than $200, and anything more you're paying for a name or lack of supply. If you're spending that much they ought to look more interesting than a Shoe Carnival special. preferably examples before you take her back to the hotelnight on the town
No kidding, man of constant sorrow. Louisville has a pretty brutal hipster culture in its own right. We used to live by the bardstown/baxter intersection in the highlands so we saw a lot of that stuff.Ren, as a fellow Loo-villian, all I can say is this...our fashion does not compute to the outside world.![]()
Patience & tolerance are all we can offer.
Commmon Projects and Lanvin? You remind me of a Yung Major circa 2009. You should also check for Givenchy and YSL. They're making some nice sneakers nowadays. Big fan of these: http://www.barneys.com/product/givenchy-new-urban-street-leather-sneakers-504882054.htmlShrugs said:I think it's a decent price for quality sneakers. I generally make it a point not to chase trends. I keep a pretty simple wardrobe, and most of it is interchangeable. When I find some time I'll take a few pictures and share so you can comment/eviscerate it however you see fit.If I can give some feedback to you Ren, it would be stop trying to chase trends or be part of them, and start understanding what styles don't go out of style
here's a homework assignment. Find 4 images that look fashionable to you for the following:

biz casual

I'm not offended. This thread is full of these comments. I'm good with them.No offense They are nice and I like them but if I saw a guy wearing those I would think they bought them at Kohls for 50.00 plus 30% off coupon with 10.00 in Kohl's cash.
I think they're nice- of course we'd all like to spend as little as possible, but if you've got the loot to spend on what you want... how much you spend shouldn't be much of a quibble (for others).I'm not offended. This thread is full of these comments. I'm good with them.
Don't be so sensitive. There's plenty of different opinions in here. I think everything Major suggests is ridiculous looking. I don't really think he believes half of the stuff he suggests. I also don't see things like Wilked. But I think both of those guys are from the Northeast. I'm from the South. Fashion is very regional. But clothes that fit well and match isn't.The responses in this thread are pettier than the girls I work with. Kind of incredible really. If I want fashion advice from posers advocating $400 vans with different words on the side I'll let you know.
I think we're all a little different in here. I own a handful of shoes and live fairly casually. I get a lot of use out of sneakers.I think they're nice- of course we'd all like to spend as little as possible, but if you've got the loot to spend on what you want... how much you spend shouldn't be much of a quibble (for others).
Interesting to hear.and fwiw- I used to see more trends here in NYC (especially before we moved our office from soho to freaking bryant park), but feel like men's fashion has devolved into tshirts and pants bro-wear. not exactly going gang-busters on trends here![]()
