The Footballguys Bowl! - Was "Interest In A Footballguys Subscriber League?" (3 Viewers)

League 0006 drafting from pick #3
CD Lamb - happy as a Cowboys fan
Travis Etienne - just missed K Williams and Henry
Nico Collins - Coin flip him or Aiyuk
Kenneth Walker - just missed James Cook
Amari Cooper - was targeting him or Walker here
Jayden Reed - most good RBs gone
CJ Stroud - QB run started, took him over Dak and Love
Jordon Love -(QB10) last good QB, value too good to pass with two teams with still no QB
Devin Singletary - RB34 not many left
Brian Thomas - good value here
SF 49ers - too early , missed out on RB run Benson, Charbonnett, Hubbard, Allgeier and Wright
Jakobi Meyers - no good RB left
Clyde Helaire-Edwards - need RB bad
Luke Musgrave - still no good RB
Troy Franklin - still no good RB
Tank Bigsby - handcuff
Will Shipley - hopeful
AJ Dillon - still breathing
Devontez Walker - shot in the dark over 3 others still on WW
All in all pretty happy as long as my RBs stay healthy

A new high for Jonathan Taylor, a new low for JaMarr Chase
What spot are you?
10, unfortunately. Haven't loved a lot of my mocks.
I had 10 this morning, overall not bad
I'm liking it so far. My favorite mock results all were WR/WR and snagging Mahomes.

What time do tonight's drafts begin? And how can I watch? I just checked, and there should be a slew of drafts starting at 8pm EST. If you are in one of these, please post a link now, thanx.
Division 0090 drafts this evening at 8pm EST.

I'm in the 2 slot on Monday night. Lamb 1 and Kupp 2 is ideal. Nice.
I like the start. After those 2 my draft hasn’t gone as planned but I’m fine with Jacobs in the 3rd and felt the value of Hurts in the 5th was too good to pass up.

Biggest change so far is didn't expect Pickens to fall, so went heavier at WR than I planned. Will just have to be active at RB each week I think.

Did my draft this morning. I'd really really love to complain about a 7am draft start time for those of us on the west coast. But the thing is I had it marked that way on my calendar and knew it for several days now. Aaaaand was awake and playing Civ 5 with my son and brother at 630am. So no excuse for missing my first four picks. But I do appreciate what the CPU did for me.

League 0088 and here is my team from the 11:

Lamar*, Fields
Barkley*, Gibbs*, R Davis, Tracy, Laube
McLaurin, Ridley, Hollywood, C Samuel, Shaheed, Gabe, Wicks, Franklin, Dyami Brown
LaPorta*, Pitts, Ferguson
Detroit DEF

I was more pre-occupied with developing Atomic Theory and invading Canada than logging into Sleeper this morning. My bad. But those first four are exactly in the kind of builds I've been doing.

Ha! That's why we had 8 different draft time AM and PM! Thanks for being part of this and I love the team.

I'm also about to do something weird at Defense, thinking this league is going to have too many sharp folks trying the WW game. Maybe a dumb zig but we'll see. Since Likely went as my "oo, huge upside", may as well.

I went real scary, and took 2 TE's, but I had a plan, and it worked. In the 10th I went with Hockenson, who will start the season hurt. But I then took Taysom Hill in the 14th, and he will be my starter until Hock returns. Taysom has finished as a TE1 in full PPR the last 2 seasons.

Well, at least you can start all 3 TE's

ARich as the 10th QB off the board, wow!

Cornering the market on D's?

Just making sure I got two I can hold all the way.

Then I took ATL for week one. Psychologically, I like having a player I know I can cut right after week 1 for waivers no regrets vs wondering if I want to wait a week on a guy and missing Garrett Wilson or Puka or whomever week one.

Division 0090 draft just wrapped up.
https://sleeper.app/draft/nfl/1118721996847718400

My squad:

QB Hurts (5.2), Stafford (13.2)

RB Jacobs (3.2), Jones (6.11), Edwards (9.2), Dobbins (11.2), K Miller (17.2), J Williams (18.11)

WR Lamb (1.2), Kupp (2.11), Ridley (7.2), Watson (8.11), Samuel (10.11), Jeudy (12.11), Downs (14.11), Tolbert (19.2)

TE McBride (4.11), Otton (16.11)

D Ravens (15.2), Seahawks (20.11)

I never ended up with Hurts, Jacobs, or Jones in any of my mocks. I like the value pretty well on all of them though. Team 8 lost connection and was auto drafted 4 RBs, TE, and 2 QBs with their first 7 picks. RBs started flying off the board especially between rounds 8-12 it seemed. Where I selected Watson I had hoped to get Warren or B Robinson on the way back around but team 1 sniped them both so I pivoted to Gus. I knew I needed to secure JK as well after that and thankfully I was able to do so. After missing out on Chandler and Lloyd as handcuffs I was just going to walk away with only 4 RBs but I decided to waste late picks on Miller and Williams instead. lol

Suggestion - drop Otton, pick up a different TE. Same bye as your starter.

Good catch! That’s actually something I’ve paid close attention to but I do like how much Otton is on the field. I’ll have to scour the waiver wire for a fill-in.

I'm telling you, after looking at all these Sleeper mocks, I guess we just have to expect the unexpected. And @farfromforgotten , since McBride's bye isn't until 11, you can consider holding Otton until much later. You don't have to swap him out now for an inferior TE this early.

Expect the unexpected should be the motto when it comes to actual real drafts.

And yeah, I’m definitely holding Otton and waiting til closer to week 11 to make a move on that front. I do appreciate you pointing out their matching bye weeks however.

my assessment as well. I don't hate it but I need those WRs to hit.

One thing I’ve learned over the years:
Mocks are garbage.

People try new stuff in mocks to see if it works. Sometimes with hilarious results, but more to the point, allowing value to fall because they’re trying a specific build or strategy.

I never believe mocks. I use them to follow ADP trends and to get my brain into draft mode.

The more mistakes I make in mocks, the less likely I am to make those mistakes when it counts.

I shouldn't be calling these mocks. These were actual Sleeper drafts from this morning and evening. FWIW, I thought I drafted very well, then compared to ADP, I only did average at best. Well, it's because I have a man-crush on Rachaad White this year. Comically, I fought hard on these boards the year Peyton Barber was also a plodder for the Bucs, back in 2018. He finished with 254 touches and under 1K yards, heheheh.

I reserve my man-crushes for the later rounds.

Rachaad is a 7th rounder. What are you talking about?

3rd. Been mocking going WR or RB in round 1 and always found liking my teams better when I started RB.

Team:
Stroud 7.3, Lawrence 11.3
Hall 1.3, Kamara 4.10, Singletary 8.10, Charb 12.10, Allen 13.3, J Hill 18.10, Dillon 20.10
Olave 2.10, Evans 3.3, McLaurin 5.3, Sutton 9.3, Samuel 10.10, W Robinson 14.10, D Robinson 17.3
Ferguson 6.10, Otton 15.3, Okon 19.3

I did many mocks and found myself liking teams where I went RB first. This real draft was no different.
I like the WR's that come back more than the RB's.

I also don't like the lack of practice for Hill, Lamb and Chase.

I slightly regret Stroud over Burrow and Murray but I have a lot of week 12 issues and didn't want to compound the problem.

I honestly didn't want to take Charbs but I couldn't find Allen and clicked the next best player on my list.

I had T Hill sniped right in front of me in round 13.

I have a lot of faith in McLaurin. That pick might make or break my season as a I passed on an elite TE and some good WR's.
Had I known Dionte would have made it back in the 6th, I probably would have gone TE / Johnson

Overall like my team. This was a pretty competitive draft and went smooth. An hour and a half for 20 rounds seems fair.

I like your squad. I couldn’t have taken Hall 3rd overall myself but I wouldn’t be mad about having that group of WRs either. I’m a big fan of Ferguson this year. Well done.
