How often can you pick someone and no one at the same time?
Oops.taken as hero
Damn. I was thinking about taking Walker at the end of the draft.
Took a shot on this because I saw that only about 1/2 has taken a commercial so far, so in theory it's has a better shot at more points than a couple other categories I have. I am the last one to take 50s-70s comedy, and only 2 of us have to take their animated show, for example.Nice - I need to spend more time on my commercial list. This should have been on it.
Whoever is the judge for this one, good luck. There is not a bad one among the bunch.Nice - I need to spend more time on my commercial list. This should have been on it.0 clue what to do with this category or how it will be judged. Just another selection that stood out from my childhood:
37.15: LIFE CEREAL - MIKEY LIKES IT! (commercial)

I think it should be judged by impact, and I think the Mikey one is an absolute steal. It might very well be the SODWhoever is the judge for this one, good luck. There is not a bad one among the bunch.
There are likely still some Top 5 commercials left. Extremely judge-dependent category, though. Not much clear chalk IMHO.I think it should be judged by impact, and I think the Mikey one is an absolute steal. It might very well be the SODWhoever is the judge for this one, good luck. Did any of the rest of you have the "the kid who played Mikey consumed Pop Rocks and Coca-Cola at the same time and his stomach blew up" rumor circulating at your school?0 clue what to do with this category or how it will be judged. Just another selection that stood out from my childhood:

Of course. Who didn't.Did any of the rest of you have the "the kid who played Mikey consumed Pop Rocks and Coca-Cola at the same time and his stomach blew up" rumor circulating at your school?
Barbara Bel Geddes played Miss Ellie for almost the show's entire run. After Bel Geddes underwent heart surgery in 1983, Donna Reed was signed on to play Miss Ellie for the 1984-85 season. Bel Geddes had recovered sufficiently to return to the cast for the 1985-86 season, though Reed was blindsided by the news that the role would not remain hers.Struggling with these character categories I have left. I watched this show with my parents, so why not..
38.02: MISS ELLIE EWING (lead woman, drama)
Won an Emmy for the role.
I need to watch this, I keep hearing good things about it.38.05 Jack Ryan - Action
Again, I'm picking things I have seen and loved. This is Action.
Awards - 2 wins and 24 nominations (3 Emmy nominations)

Now, um, why do you need such a big bag of oregano?

Thank the gods I can disallow this. It's a reality programme. It is not a documentary. And it blew disco chunks.38.12 The Mystery of Al Capone's Vaults - Documentary

My mom was convinced he was dead. Even after I told her Oprah had him on her show so that we could all see him, she still didn't believe me.Did any of the rest of you have the "the kid who played Mikey consumed Pop Rocks and Coca-Cola at the same time and his stomach blew up" rumor circulating at your school?
We’ve poopooed picks like this. They need to be characters, not actors.Round 37.11 - Leading Man Comedy 1950-70 - George Burns
The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show ran from 1950-58. It won four Emmys for best comedy/sitcom.
He played himself, but it is definitely a character in a show. (Bea Benaderet played a neighbor.)We’ve poopooed picks like this. They need to be characters, not actors.

OK, punting on documentary for now. I am picking things I watched and this was a staple for my college years.Thank the gods I can disallow this. It's a reality programme. It is not a documentary. And it blew disco chunks.
There are tons of great TV docs. Please pick one that won't make me tear my hair out.

I think everyone should give five choices when they pick for the documentary category and let Mrs. R choose which one she likes.I don't think there is a category that I look forward to drafting less than this category.
At this point, I'm picking it in the last round, it's something I have seen and I don't care how it rates.I don't think there is a category that I look forward to drafting less than this category.

38.12 Arsenio Hall - Talk Show Host
From January 2, 1989, until May 27, 1994, he had a Paramount contract to host a nationwide syndicated late night talk show, The Arsenio Hall Show. The show became a breakout, late-night success, especially rating high among the coveted younger demographic and known for its audience's distinctive alternative to applause in chanting, "Roo, Roo, Roo! " while pumping their fists. The practice soon became such a ritual that by 1991 had become a "pop culture stamp of approval" — one that Hall said had become "so popular it's getting on people's nerves." The gesture was so well known that it appeared in films such as Pretty Woman, Passenger 57, Aladdin, and The Hard Way
So good. Got into this more than SNL too. Was 2nd on my list behind Chapelle Show. This has long been a favorite of mine, probably more so than SNL
SCTV (Second City Television) - Variety or Live Show
Hint: if you care about score, true crime might not be the way to go.At this point, I'm picking it in the last round, it's something I have seen and I don't care how it rates.
Jeepers Creepers may be the best sketch in the history of television.Rd. 38- Mr. Show with Bob and David- Variety
Not sure how it will rank but this is one of my all time sketch comedy shows. Its like SNL for people who love to laugh. Its a show where each sketch ties into the next. It can be described as being a "tangent" or "chain" sketch comedy show. Each sketch didn't end but merely blended into the next ,finally coming full circle to the original host segment. It was clever, smart and deep.
Bob Odenkirk and David Cross are comedy geniuses who were smart enough to bring other great comedians to the show.People who would go on to huge success like Jack Black, Jay Johnston, Paul F. Tompkins, Brian Posehn, Tom Kenny(SpongeBob),Jerry Minor, and Sarah Silverman. Rolling Stone magazine ranked it as 71st best show in TV history.
