The Le'ron McClain Conundrum (1 Viewer)

Abstract

This thread is not intended to be a WDIS thread.

I'm in a must win game and I'm seriously considering starting McClain this week. These mind games that Harbaugh plays makes me extremely skeptical, he seems to change his mind everytime the wind changes direction. The lastest I've heard is that McGahee isn't upset with his situation and Harbaugh said that he will be involved with the offense in December. But yet, all I read is that McClain is a very safe play. How safe of a play do you guys think he really is? I'm also rostering McGahee and K. Faulk

O.K., I edited my post to make sure his name is spelled correctly. Does anyone have any helpful comments?

As a Baltimore homer, I think you start McClain very much at your own risk. Harbaugh doesn't tip his hand at all -- nobody knew McGahee wouldn't play last week. And now Willis has said all the right things about his benching and how he just wants the team to win -- exactly the kind of team-first stuff that Harbaugh is after -- so he might very well be rewarded by getting the ball 20+ times.

The point is -- there's no way of knowing, which makes McClain unsafe to start.

Sorry man, couldnt resist. I had McGahee in my lineup tha last two weeks and he has killed me. I think its a crapshoot right now, but McGahee would be the last one I would start. McClain at least might get the goal line work. Id look at other options first, but if I absolutely had to, I would probably put McCLain at the top of the list between these three.

I'm deciding on DMac / Fargas / McClain as a Flex myself....

i'm just as  as everyone else.. but right now I have McClain in my line but am thinking of changing that out for Fargas, atleast I know hes getting carries tonight.

Also to be considered is that the Redskins are pretty solid against the run. I actually expect McClain to see a lot of carries this week in attempt to wear down their defensive front, but with Harbaugh being unpredictable and the Redskins having a solid rush defense there is no way I could rely on McClain this week. That said, 60 yards and a TD is a realistic possibility (but tough to predict).
