The "National Media" (1 Viewer)

I'm convinced that the talking heads (especially on ESPN) really do a poor job of analyzing teams. I think if homers from all (or most of the teams) post examples of how someone recently gave false analysis about your team then maybe we can demand better from them.

I'll give an example from yesterday for the Colts. ESPNEWS' Qadry Ismail said that the Colts running game now is doing "OK", but they aren't busting 50-yard runs like Edge did. Edge did a lot of things for the Colts, but Edge (especially post-injury) didn't supply a lot of long runs. That to me is simply poor analysis and is unacceptable to me that someone gets paid for that.

No heart - check

An old washed up QB - check

Overpaid players - check

No personnel man - check

Headcoach with no new ideas - check

Sounds like they figured the Redskins out. But hey, at least I'm not a Lions or Browns fan. Those guys have lived with suckitude for even longer.

Packers:

Hits....

Favre is good

Misses:

A. Green back to old self (he isnt)

Team is old (Besides Favre team is very young)

Team is ok with rebuilding (Team is 4-5 and looking to contend now)

Woodson is the Packers best corner (Harris is)

Clifton is a stud (maybe two years ago)

there may be more

For the Jets, it isn't just the national media, it was almost everyone. This team was clearly improved talent wise, yet everyone expected a 3 win season, worse than last year's record. OK, rookie HC, Rookie OC, new shemes, but it was nearly unanimous that they would be the worst team in the NFL. That made NO sense to me whatsoever. I've already won two on line bets, and after they get the 7th win, which they will, I'll collect on another bet.

ESPN only talked about how the weather affected NE yesterday.... no props to the Jets at all. Like the weather didn't hurt both teams? News flash... NE has the better ground game, the weather should have helped them against a team that has to rely on it's passing offense to score. Bottom line was that the Jets D scheme had Brady confused all day. Mangini outcoached the teacher.

Brian Pata's murder is a direct reflection on the University of Miami & the football program.

This is the worst I have ever heard.

:goodposting: I actually enjoy the no-respect we get this year. Hell, i was saying a .500 season wasn't out of the question this year, but people like to kick a team when they are down, and we were DOWN after last season. Bye Herm, Hello Mangini....and Chad just keep playing well enough to win.

Sounds a lot like the Saints pre-season media "buzz" Even now, a lot of national media hangs the "same ol' Saints" tag on the current brass-balled squad, waiting for some kind of inevitable collapse. IF they collapse ... it won't be because of some kind of Saints history biting the current squad on the backside -- the past is the past, and few of the current Saints were a part of that.

That this is a disapointing year for Cardinal fans. True cardinal fans knew The "CARDINALS ARE EXACTLY WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE"

Media

Coming together under a strong new coching staff. Still the lame bad luck, but some of the most talented young players in the league.

Truth

The punchline remains the same. We are getting abused in the struggle to return to our herarlded days of 8-8. We have some of the most incosisntent young stars in the league.

The Detroit Lions

Cowboys:

TO...24/7

Today TO ate a baby.

TO hates kittens and kicks them.

TO is satan.

TO was the shooter on the grassy nole.

etc etc
