Do we just have Gagne for this season, or can we lock him up and move Paps into the rotation?
Not sure what the story is there.to be honest.... scouring SOSH and RSN.net right now for details/theories. HOping this deal doesn't piss off OK and Timmy.

so how do you slot the relievers now? alternate gagne & paps? rest them as they're both a touch injury prone? or do some crazy ### oki/paps/gagne 7-9 innings? allowing the starters the luxury of only going 6?

SOX OFFICIALLY LAND GAGNE

Papelbon, Gagne, Okajima, Timlin, Delcarmen

It's Official NO TEAM, will score against the RED SOX after the 6th inning, if none of these guys get hurt, write the SOX in for a trip to the 2008 WS!

Boys,.........they have to have the lead in the 7th, 8th and 9th to get Gagme, OkieDokieDr.Jones, and Papelblown in. Otherwise, it's kind of like having a sportscar with no gas.

:moneybag: Aww he's resorting to 3rd grade nicknames. He must really be coming to the realization that it's over. Sox are 8-2 in their last 10 outscoring their opponents 71-34 over that span. The only have 10 games remaining against teams with winning records. We'll have more than our fair share of leads heading into the 7th. Good luck with the wild card though. :goodposting:

Hold on Snoop. Fruitbat? Shemp? Slappy McBluelips? Don't these ring a bell?I got a stat....over the last 8 innings Boston players not named David Ortiz are batting .000. Do you have a pipe?7 back with 6 to play against the Sox( if Baltimore wins) and 2.5 back of the Indians. This might traditionally be the time you guys started looking at the Pats chances......but we still have meaningful baseball to play.

DC,Boston fans are supposed to remain classless. It's allowed when your team has 1 championship in 90 years.

You are better than them, my friend.

Schill with another dominating start...

7 IP, 4H, 0R, 4K, 0BB, 77 pitches, 60 strikes.

Cannot WAIT to get him back, he has looked nothing short of awesome in his rehab starts

Tavarez goes tonight, someone say a hail mary...

YOOOOOOOOOUUUUUK!

Sox take the lead in the bottom of the 7th.

Oki warning and Gagne stretching. Might get to see the beaverchinned wonder tonight

Paps gets the 9th with a 1 run lead. Weak grounder then gets Huff and Roberts to K for the Save :lmao:

Heater running around 95 with a couple kissing 97. Not bad. Not bad.

great late game win tonight! this would have been an awful game to lose momentum wise. win tomorrow & head west on an upswing for 6 tough games with seattle & the angels.

i'll be at the game on tuesday

What is the rule for the amount of time a pitcher has between pitches to throw the next one? Whatever it is, Trachsel violates it every damn time. Painful to watch.

Strikes out Millar Looking

Strikes out Tejada Looking

Weak sky high pop that the wind screws with bounces off dirt behind 3rd into the stands for a GR double

Peyton with weak blooper to right that scores a run

Flyout to Manny at LF

Gagne holds... Red Sox Win

I heard Francona explain it, but didn't really understand why...something about the upcoming scheduleGagne looking very good, Lowell blew the play (should have been an error) that would have given Gagne the 1-2-3

btw, Wake now is tied for the lead in the AL for Wins...has had a decision in each of his starts - unbelievable. Wake has been the unsung hero on this team all year...

now is it a save situation? :boxing: started out strong with 2 strikeouts, then gives up 2 hits & a run...
Save situation = (1) come into the game at the start of an inning ahead by 3 runs or less(2) come into the game with the tying run on deckGagne came in to start the inning with a 4 run lead = not a save situation.

It doesnt have to be the start of an inning. You can come in with 2 outs in the 9th and a 3R lead and its a save situation. Also, if you come into the game with any lead and pitch 3 or more innings to end the game it is a save situation.

At any rate, you cannot pitch your way into a save situation. Either it is when you come on or it is not.

I forgot that they refined the save definiation to include any lead of 3 runs.

Looks like for once the Sox will miss the opposing team's respective Aces...

In Seattle they'll miss Felix Hernandez.

(Lester vs Horacio Ramirez, Matsuzak vs. Washburn and Beckett vs. Batista)

In Anaheim they'll miss Escobar and Lackey!

(Schilling vs. Weaver, Wakefield vs. Saunders and Lester vs. Moseley)

:unsure:Now let's hope we can capitalize.... The Goal... win 2 of 3 the rest of the way.
