I guess you could but it's a chain so I don't know that it qualifies and I also know that there are plenty of folks in OH that have no clue what a White Castle is.You got me beat on 43 years, but I grew up there and lived there until 27. I don't know what else you would choose over Skyline/Cincinnati but it certainly wouldn't be those buckeye things. They are more of just a quaint food item (since it's Ohio) rather than some signature state dish. What else, White Castle?
ok. done. thanks. It's so hard to get to "G" on that list.I didn't look,
Hate that Skyline chili is always the go to for OH in these things because they throw some chocolate in the mix and spread it over spaghetti.
This is why I voted for MalaiseStop this disinformation immediately.
It's basically a Greek pasta sauce. And yes it uses a variety of spices common in Greek dishes, such as cinnamon and cloves.
We know it's not actually chili. We just call it that to piss you off.

They kinda do with Donato's no?And maybe Ohio should be thin crispy square cut pizza.
Yeah the best BBQ seems to be on the Missouri side. Back here in KS Mennonite country I would go with Bierocks or chicken and dumplings.Jayrod said:I figured Missouri would go KC Barbecue or St. Louis Italian. Looks like we threw Kansas a bone and let them have the BBQ.
Toasted Ravioli on the Hill is no joke. Good stuff.

Aren’t those just interstate off-ramp places? Aptly named bc I’ve heard that’s what you get shortly after eating there.how are those runzas? Do small places have them?
I have seen the chain places "Runza" but never eaten there
I don't think I've ever seen one in KS. Interwebs tell me there's one in Lawrence but I've never been there.how are those runzas? Do small places have them?

This I don't take exception to. This specifically may not be everywhere, but some version of it. Sure. Cincinnati chili is limited to one place and the locals don't even like it. Buckeyes are just a lazy fall back for those that know bastardized chili aint it. Doesnt make it right though. And maybe Ohio should be thin crispy square cut pizza.
Have you been to the El Charro in Tucson as referenced? It is really on another level.I guess Chimichanga could be OK for AZ, but the problem is first, every chimi tastes great, it’s not that hard when you deep fry a tortilla. Second, a lot of really good Mexican places don’t even have fryers, so you’ll miss out on a lot of great food going with a chimi.
The correct answer is a taco in a corn tortilla. Any taco, because there are so many great choices.
I've had some pretty good fish fries in Wisconsin myself...i always thought sweringens al gen up in rhinelander had the best fish fry i ever had but that may be because some of the best times i ever had were fishing up there with my family when everyone was still alive take that to the bank brohans
No. John's Roast Pork (JRP) is arguably better and their cheesesteak blows away the roast pork.Everyone in Philly knows the DiNic's Roast Pork sammy blows the cheesesteak away.
I have not, so I guess I spoke a little out if line. I will give it a try at some point.Have you been to the El Charro in Tucson as referenced? It is really on another level.
Otherwise, I don't really disagree with your taco with a corn tortilla suggestion. I'd also be good with a hatch green chile burger or a torta.
Yeah I saw after I typed it that the hatch green chile burger went to New Mexico. Hard to argue with that.I have not, so I guess I spoke a little out if line. I will give it a try at some point.
As much as I love hatch green chiles, I think that’s more of a New Mexico thing than an Arizona thing. But Richardson’s is one of the best restaurants in town so…
I may be. In Chicago now but heading back Wednesday. I may make it up there. How long are you there?Yeah I saw after I typed it that the hatch green chile burger went to New Mexico. Hard to argue with that.
BTW I'm in Prescott this week if you're around.
Depends on how long the jury may deliberate. Should be there through Friday.I may be. In Chicago now but heading back Wednesday. I may make it up there. How long are you there?
Cool - hijack over. I’ll let you know if I get up thereDepends on how long the jury may deliberate. Should be there through Friday.
Guessing this may be honda but I love stuff like this.
The One Food to Try in Every State
Agree? Disagree?
If disagree, what should it be?
Krispy Kreme for NC seems like a total cop-out. Why would I go to NC when I have a KK 5 miles down the road?
Feels like some BBQ options would have made sense for a few of these states.
At least it wasn't Krispy Kreme....jeez.
Plus North Carolina has their own flavor of BBQ- so I would have expected that.
Awful choice.
Not a terrible list. I expected worse, but there were a few glaring mistakes.
Surprised not to see ice cream not walk away with an win or two here as the primary.
- NC - The Krispy Kreme choice is straight-up trolling
Good point.
Except for Krispy Kreme, apparently the best are in NC
Yeah, the KK choice is pretty bad. Eastern NC style whole hog BBQ would have been a great choice.
I've never had John's, but the DiNic's sandwich is magnificent and was voted best sandwich in America by Adam Richman!!Zow said:No. John's Roast Pork (JRP) is arguably better and their cheesesteak blows away the roast pork.
The staff eye rolled my wife multiple times after she ordered her cheesesteak very non-Philly likeI've never had John's, but the DiNic's sandwich is magnificent and was voted best sandwich in America by Adam Richman!!
