“As a result, U.S. officials said there is no detailed record, even in classified files, of Trump’s face-to-face interactions with the Russian leader at five locations over the past two years.”
linkRep. Eliot L. Engel (D-N.Y.), new chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, told the Post that the meeting will be a target for investigators now that Democrats have taken control of the House. While in the minority, House Democrats attempted to subpoena Trump's interpreter, but were blocked by Republicans.
It’s fine...everything is fine.This didn’t just happen once either...

You can call him poutine, because it’s all gravy baby. You know Putty has records though...
My guess is that Republicans will not go along with reform initiatives post-trump. To acknowledge the need for reform would be to bring light to their egregious lack of involvement in attempting to rein him in. They will remain true to their party and themselves. This is a good point. I am hoping some lesser known Dems, or even Repubs, are drafting legislation like the above that will be focused on after the report or after 2020 to really "reform" the government and bring back some integrity to it. These minor changes should play a huge role in the next election and the next Congress, if not the current Congress. Maybe it's time to revisit some of these "laws" that we have taken for granted, as they are not laws, but rather simple decorum that other President's have done.
if I were this interpreter, I'd be a little concerned for my safety about now
Possibly, but then the Dems need to pound and pound these issues. Through the voting process, hopefully more Representatives would be voted in with this same mindset. It won't happen right away but it could be taken care of in a couple of elections. My guess is that Republicans will not go along with reform initiatives post-trump. Had lunch the other day with a real conservative guy and the subject of the NRA and their spending during the election came up. First, he couldn't understand what they might have hoped to achieve by spending $30M in advertising (he's in sales, btw). When Butina came up and her potentially funneling money from Russia, he paused and said... "I can't wait til they finally investigate The Clinton Foundation."Typing this only because I don’t know what the truth is, but... in the M. Knight Shyamalan universe, Trump is completely innocent, and Hillary is the real criminal. Imagine if that is the truth.
And vaguely reminiscent of cheese curds. You could call trump poutine because he is lumpy and an unnatural colour
Barney Frank had it right. There’s no sense arguing with a dining room table.Had lunch the other day with a real conservative guy and the subject of the NRA and their spending during the election came up. I was without speech.
Ugh. This crap needs to end.Trump just said on Fox he's close to a national emergency it's 100% ok
He thinks this is a reality show, with him as the star.Trump just said on Fox he's close to a national emergency it's 100% ok
This is the thing that scares me the most. He’s always looking to make distractions. The worse the news, the bigger the distraction.Trump just said on Fox he's close to a national emergency it's 100% ok
He's not wrong....he is the walking epitome of a national emergency.Trump just said on Fox he's close to a national emergency it's 100% ok

Trump answer: you the thing with my wife, she was a very Bad person ("hombre") Many pEople said so. She should have been Killed many many years ago. So sad, low Energy. ...Q: Did you kill your wife?
Innocent answer: Absolutely not. In fact I was at a work function the whole night. 20 witnesses.
Trump answers are like: How dare you ask me that. What I can tell you is she drank a lot and hung out with losers.
“Hiding stuff shouldn’t be illegal.”@ren hoek what’s the spin look like from your side on this one?
I mean we’ve all played hide and seek right?“Hiding stuff shouldn’t be illegal.”
“If it isn’t illegal to hide legal stuff, why should it be illegal to hide illegal stuff? It’s all just stuff.”I mean we’ve all played hide and seek right?
Plus, both sides do it.“If it isn’t illegal to hide legal stuff, why should it be illegal to hide illegal stuff? It’s all just stuff.”
That's exactly what's going to happen. Pence is up to his eyeballs in this ####.Pence better be squeaky clean.
Trump and Pence going down only for Pelosi to take over would be the ultimate series finale.
Declare martial law. Sweep out all the russian sympathizers. Roll back the last two scotus justices.
Yeah, didn't he chair the transition team? He knows stuff. That's exactly what's going to happen. Pence is up to his eyeballs in this ####.
Why wouldn't he start with "no" even if it's a lie. We know he can lie. Why wouldn't he lie about this?"Are you now or have you ever worked for Russia, Mr. President?"
Trump doesn't directly answer: "I think it's the most insulting thing I've ever been asked. I think it's the most insulting article I've ever had written."

I guess if we want a straight answer we should ask Putin. I’m not joking. “Did you want president trump to win and did you direct any of your operatives...”"Are you now or have you ever worked for Russia, Mr. President?"

I've thought all along that someone on the inside has been talking to the FBI from early on. Pence would be a solid possibility, as backstabbing Trump could net him the Presidency, while also allowing him to neatly sidestep the ####show of Trump going down.Yeah, didn't he chair the transition team? He knows stuff.
Assuming he's not already compromised by heading the transition teamwhile also allowing him to neatly sidestep the ####show of Trump going down.

Breaking: Trump has gone to extraordinary lengths to conceal details of his conversations with Putin, including on at least one occasion taking the notes of his own interpreter and instructing the linguist not to discuss what had transpired, WaPo reports.

This is maybe a way to understand the NYT report about the counterintelligence investigation into Trump in context. Trump's meeting with Kislyak and Lavrov in the Oval and his tone there in combination with his refusal to share information with his own government meant that the IC and even diplomats at State likely needed some understanding of what was really going on.Because of the absence of any reliable record of Trump’s conversations with Putin, officials at times have had to rely on reports by U.S. intelligence agencies tracking the reaction in the Kremlin.
Previous presidents and senior advisers have often studied such reports to assess whether they had accomplished their objectives in meetings as well as to gain insights for future conversations.
U.S. intelligence agencies have been reluctant to call attention to such reports during Trump’s presidency because they have at times included comments by foreign officials disparaging the president or his advisers, including his son-in-law Jared Kushner, a former senior administration official said.
“There was more of a reticence in the intelligence community going after those kinds of communications and reporting them,” said a former administration official who worked in the White House. “The feedback tended not to be positive.”
Sure, but that's kinda implied by him talking to the FBI early on- that would indicate he's smart enough to avoid implicating himself.Assuming he's not already compromised by heading the transition team
Pence was recommended by Manafort. Christie was running the transition until Trump won and him and most of his team were fired. Pence then took over. I have to think he’s somewhat involved. Makes me wonder if Flynn told him the truth and that Pence was the one lying in the TV interviews.I've thought all along that someone on the inside has been talking to the FBI from early on. I believe that and I would wager most here do as well. It appeared to be a classic fall on your sword move by Flynn.Pence was recommended by Manafort. Wow. Could strike a deal to resign?A New York Times reporter on MSNBC just said that Giuliani is privately telling people that he expects the Mueller report to be “horrific”.
