The semi-official Green Bay Packers 2011 Thread (1 Viewer)

8-0 and Rodgers playing out of his mind.

Defense still struggling though. No consistent pressure and not sure if its Collins being out or what, but there is constant miscommunication among the DBs.

Funny thing from yesterday was after the game when we hear that the Chargers had to go to using a silent count in the 4th quarter...at home. Tons of Packer fans there and it was obvious.

9-0

Interesting thing I noticed this year...a group of about 3-5 posters who claimed to be Packer fans who were very vocal over the last 3+ years with how things went down with Favre. Vocal in their dislike of Ted Thompson and those of us who were with Thompson and Rodgers and what they were thinking. Those guys pretty much disappeared after the Super Bowl and have not really been seen since.

You would think as Packer fans they would be happy about the Championship and the run the team is on now.

Instead, they are silent.

With some people it turned out they were more Favre fans than Packer fans. I think a lot of folks got so entrenched in the split and taking sides and stuff that they just ruined it for themselves.Probably nobody cares, but I could tell my dad for one was incredibly conflicted 2008-2009. It was never like he turned his back on the Packers or even really said anything particuarly bad about TT, MM, or AR. More just that he had trouble letting go, and seemed more excited about the Jets/Vikings games than Packers games, even though he would always say he was first and foremost a Packers fan. On time he even said something about "the Packers game on today" when he was talking about a Vikings game. Kind of funny that it was my brother and I, who have set foot in the state of WI once in our lives, had to be the ones to set him straight. The whole deal with Sterger finally soured him on Favre. More directly to your point, with the Internet it's easier to just sulk off and never be heard from again, or come back under another alias. Anybody that took strong anti-TT/MM/AR stances IRL has surely had to admit they were wrong with friends, family, and other fellow fans. I doubt there are more than a handful of Packers fans that haven't been won over at this point.

I know it has to get old for some to keep reading these types of stories on him...but man, the guy is just all around good. The quote his mom had a few weeks ago from him was great. Along the lines of his goal changing from being the best QB in the NFL, to being the best man to have played QB in the NFL.How f'ing luck are we as Packer fans right now???

cornhole alert..........

i'm flying up for the raider game. let me know if any of you are going to the game, tail gaiting, want to have a drink the night before, etc.

and we are still looking for 4 tickets if anyone has an in on some.

can't wait to see lambeau!!

Dave Tollefson put on the belt after sacking Rodgers in the 4th quarter. That makes teams 0-3 against Rodgers when doing so (Abraham, Graham, Tollefson) unless I'm missing one somewhere. :football:

Awesome bro, enjoy it. Should be making my first pilgrimage to Lambeau next season.

Big win. The injuries are starting to build up again. Clifton, Sitton, Collins, Woodson, Bishop, Hawk, Starks and Quarless. That's 7 starters and the 2nd string te. I do think Newhouse, Smith and to a lesser extent Saine have looked good. Need to get some of these guys back and stay healthy. The goal is the Lombardi Trophy

Packer fans I came to ask you guys about Saine.

Would you rather have Saine or Starks for your fantasy playoffs?

Starks, but the Packers are usually pretty conservative when it comes to injuries so it would not surprise me if they shut him down this weekend. If that happens I think we will see a committee of Saine, Grant and Kuhn

Quarless to the IR (not surprising).

Harrell promoted as the 3rd QB on the active roster.

Not a shock...thought it was to protect him as Rodgers backup next year...then later read that the Bills were trying to sign him so Green Bay protected him.
