The best game show of all time and it's not close. It rewards intelligence, as others have said, yet is easy to play along with at home. I've watched it since the '80s (and made it to an in-person audition in 2015, though wasn't picked to go on) and other than sports it probably accounts for the highest volume of my TV viewing.

Some folks don't like that they now have more tournaments, but I like seeing returning players.

IIRC, the glut of tournaments was due to the Writer's Strike last year which impacted most of the season. They had to cobble together games from old unused questions and didn't feel it was right to have a bunch of new players taking their one shot in a second-rate game.

They're still doing it. Second Chance and Champions Wildcard are before every TOC now, with JIT and Jeopardy Masters after. Second Chance and Champions Wildcard are shorter than they were during the strike, but it's still 5 tournaments instead of 1.

Didn't have it on my list mainly because I didn't really factor in your normal TV game show into it.

In college we would also try and guess the Final Jeopardy answer based solely on the category clue the few times we watched it.

I have been able to get it right 3 times (and I hardly watch the show). I have probably attempted this 75 times.

Surprised Lost was this highly ranked. I remember watching it, and getting bored, cuz nothing ever happened......it was like constant teaser, with little pay off.

Deadwood is awesome.

No offense intended to you, but this is a weird take to me. I get not liking it, but saying nothing ever happens??
I spose i'd revisit......I watched it when it came out. I just remember my wife, and I getting bored as it went along. I mean, cool idea. Some good acting......I just didn't think the payoff matched the hype.

What are some comp shows for Deadwood? Like finish the sentence "you'll like this if you like ____."

Cursing
Chlamydia
Y'all are useless
Not sure there’s anything like it, it can be a bit boring at times, and Milchs dialogue can be tough to follow along with

But it’s really well acted and you feel immersed in the Wild West. It has a lot of historical characters (calamity Jane, wild bill, William Randolph Hearst)

Al Swearengen might be a Top 10 all time character

It was so disappointing that the show did not get a real conclusion (haven't watched the movie) - but the acting and dialogue was so incredible the show deserves this ranking anyway,
At least we got John from Cincinnati in its place. I expect that to be appearing here sometime soon…

I think I'm the only person who liked that show. I didn't really understand what was going on, but thought it was really interesting. And wanted to see it continue to figure out what it was. I was disappointed when it was cancelled.

We need Terrance and Phillip to get involved in the Canada/US tariff situation.

I enjoyed Lost as much as any show. While I didn't deeply explore the theories or engage heavily in online communities, the discussions enhanced my experience. The beautiful setting was also a big draw for me. I plan to rewatch it, but I doubt it will match the experience of watching it while I t was airing.

Did you ever watch NYPD Blue? David Milch was a co-creator of that and creator of Deadwood. Instead of a police precinct in modern New York, kick it back to a sheriff in a SD gold rush town in the 1880s.

I have 22 shows not listed so far. Here are their ranks:

1 - I expect it to be top 5
2 - I expect it to be top 10
5 - I expect it to be top 5
10 - I know is not in the top 300 since it was already referenced as my highest show that won't be listed - Criminal Minds)
11 - Won't be on the List. It's not a great show but it just cracks me up and is very re-watchable
12 - I expect it to be top 5
16 - I am guessing it won't be on the list and am shocked. I wonder if I missed it somewhere
20 - I expect it to be top 10
30 - First of many copycats. At the time it was quite revolutionary but kind of got a bad rap over the years because of all the spinoffs.
34 - Another great re-watchable. My go to show to watch during my lunch hour. Not gonna make the top 17
41 - Just like #11 although I would say it's a better show than #11 technically I enjoyed 11 just more. Neither will be top 17
44 - I expect it to be top 10
50 - Very fitting to the pandemic. I watched it during the pandemic and a lot of what happened I could have seen happening if it got worse. Underrated show.
51 - Just a procedural that I enjoyed. I like this type of show
53 - "Spin off" of a show that was ranked #50 and may have had the funniest scene I have ever seen (in show #50 not my spinoff choice)
54 - Surprised it hasn't been on the list yet. I would be surprised if it made top 17 I supposed it could
56 - Another show that surprised me wasn't listed. Makes me wonder if I missed it being listed. Can't imagine it would be top 17
58 - This was hilarious and it's brother was on the countdown. This was the newer version and had one of the best endings of any show ever tying it to it's predecessor.
61 - One of the similar shows was in the countdown but I liked this one better. It probably wasn't technically better but I just enjoyed it more.
66 - Guilty pleasure show from the 70's. Just had to have it on the list.
68 - Similar to my #51 above it type of show. It was entertaining and is a fun rewatch but I really didn't expect it to make the top 300.
69 - The actor playing the main character has a show in the countdown already and another that should be top 5 (and is my #1 show). This show cracked me up and is a nice mindless show to watch before going to bed. I didn't expect it to make the top 300

I will fill in what shows when the unveiling is over just in case I am wrong and 17 of these fill out the remaining shows...haha

Star Trek: The Next Generation 42

Good Eats 201

1 of those 3 will not make the top 300, and I honestly didn't think it would. It is a nitche show. The other 2 are shoe ins for top 5 I'm sure.

Since all the cool kids are doing it.

I really did try to with it. My friends and I would watch each week trying to justify why we thought it was good and thinking just the next episode it was about to really get going. We tried, we really did but with each episode it became harder and harder to make excuses.

Here are my top 10 since everyone is doing it:

1. ??????
2. ??????
3. Ted Lasso (29)
4. Ozark (22)
5. ????????
6. The League (183)
7. Friends (19)
8. Dexter (45)
9. The Americans (30)
10. Criminal Minds (not listed in top 300 - which I think is a travesty)

I have no doubt the three missing shows are still to come. Two of them (#1 and #5) will likely be in the top 5. The other one could be anywhere due to its age.

never seen deadwood

there was a time in my life when I'd watch Jepordy everyday. Its enjoyable to watch and try to play along but I didn't include any game shows.

I've watched South Park when it first came out and I enjoy watching some clips on youtube. I'm a little surprised that this group has it this high.
