That TD was like finding money on the street for those who started him.
It's exactly why we started him.
Yup. He has TD potential every week in this offense. I was surprised he wasn't involved at all in the passing game. As others have said it's the one thing he's done reasonably well this season.
If he does start catching 2-4 passes per game plus the TD potential he'll be starting RB2 upside square in the face every week regardless of how awful he may look on the field.
This has been the hope for now going on 2 years running. This is why there is so much skepticism about this POS. Because he rarely if ever deliverers what you need. The only thing he is right now is a flex option at best and even that is going to fade as Herron will in all likely-hood out play him. Just like every other back on the roster has since his arrival to Indy.
In the final month of last season after Brown had passed him on the depth chart, Richardson scored twice and averaged more than 3 receptions per game. He had double-digit touches in every game. So despite being clearly outplayed by another RB, Richardson was a productive fantasy option in PPR. Even yesterday he was productive thanks to the touchdown.
I don't think anyone is arguing that he's a great RB or looks great or anything like that. But he has generally been a solid RB3 in PPR leagues this season and was again yesterday. If he starts getting consistently involved in the passing game again I think he'll move into RB2 territory given his clear TD potential in this offense. I think people who say he sucks for fantasy are bashing him because it's the fashionable thing to do. The truth is he's been a pretty reliable RB3 in PPR all season long.
