The Trent Richardson Thread (7 Viewers)

Yeah, if it's true that his conditioning is off (and it isn't just a ) then he is wasting valuable fantasy roster space.

Why? Because he's statistically the worst RB to ever play in the NFL.  His goal should be prove he's an NFL RB.
LOL. Read TRICH is ripped and assumed it was good news.  Dude needs a free coupon for CTE testing.  It's OVER.  Easily one of the top 2-3 dynasty ff team killers in the past decade or so. He set dyno teams back so much they may not recover for 2-3 more years.

I don't think he's talking about people who drafted him. Those who traded for him gave up a ton to get him. If you give up a ton and get nothing in return, it can take awhile to recover.

I traded two firsts for Justin Blackmon when he was supposed to initially come off of suspension in a PPR league where the market had skewed heavy for WR's and made the championship game last year. I don't take this hobby too serious but no excuses here.

His 2013 season was very tough to recover from for my fantasy teams. The way one player can take down a fantasy team is not just by sucking or not being available but by sucking when he's in your starting lineup and by the time I realized it was not working for him after the trade he had contributed greatly to putting a lot of my teams in a hole, it was almost like forfeiting your first round pick and playing a man down each week.

If you drafted Richardson then you had the 1.1, so unless you got the pick through a trade your team was bad to begin with.  That said, missing on him only set a team back a year.

I made my worst trade ever for T-Rich, Dez Bryant and a late 1st :bag: :wall:   Still won the championship in 2014 and made the playoffs in 2015; 32 team league.  but yeah, my team would be a lot better on paper with Dez and whomever the 1st would have been.

Trent did not (tis but a) scratch the surface of what he might have been as an NFL RB.

(See what I did there? ;))

I'm reminded of the Black Knight of Monty Python's Holy Grail. He was woefully inept too...
Perhaps if TRich showed the same kind of dedication, persistence and confidence as The Black Knight, he could be successful.  "Knee injury? Ha. Merely a flesh wound; I could make the Hall of Fame running on one leg!"

Apparentely arrested for scratching a girl at a Walmart. What a man

WBRC FOX6 reports free agent Trent Richardson was arrested for domestic violence Thursday night in Hoover, Alabama.
A female victim was treated for scratches and bruises. The incident reportedly began at a Wal-Mart and continued until police were called to a Hyatt hotel, where Richardson was taken into custody. He's been charged with third-degree domestic violence and will appear before a judge on Friday. Richardson is being held on $1,000 bond. The former third overall pick hasn't played an NFL snap since 2014. Feb 17 - 3:45 PM

I think you have to recognize the distinction between playing well and having good stats. Those two things often overlap, but sometimes they don't. I've seen several backs this preseason who have played well and had ugly stats. Tre Mason is one example. On paper it looks like he's really struggling. If you've watched the games, I think he has shown pretty good promise. Much of his struggles can be attributed to contextual failures such as bad blocking. When there is literally no hole, it's very hard to get good yardage.

In a similar vein, I thought Trent looked fairly good last game. I wish the clips were online so people could watch for themselves, but I didn't watch him and think, "OMG this guy is brutal." The Colts suck at blocking in general and it doesn't seem like that has changed. If you want to blame that all on Richardson then that's fine, but for me he looks more like a promising back in a horrendous context rather than a guy who obviously lacks any and all merit. I've seen worse backs like Rashad Jennings generate a positive buzz this preseason and I think a lot of the difference is just down to the playcalling and the quality of the blocking that's in front of them.

We already know what's going to happen tonight. If Trent averages 3.X YPC or worse, it's going to be the same crowd with the "OMG he sucks so bad! LOL!" stuff. If he comes out and lights it up, there will be a few true believers playing the "I told you so" card and then a lot of haters playing the "It's just one meaningless preseason game" card. Everyone will go to sleep having interpreted the events of the game in a way that supports whatever opinion they already hold. I think instead of just looking at the box score, it's probably better if you also look at the actual performance in addition to that, but of course that introduces a lot of subjectivity into the mix. Unless it's obviously slanted one way or the other, chances are you're going to get some people thinking he looked promising and some people thinking he was dog ####.

So basically this thread will continue to be a porto-potty until several years have passed and the verdict of his career has been decided beyond a reasonable doubt.

that prob went by quicker than you expected

hmmmm....let me do some math on this --- mostly because I like math.

after 455 carries he's at 3.3 ypc on the career.

this should be about his last season in the league, and probably benched for half of it, so I'd estimate he gets maybe another 100 carries to bring that 3.3 up to allen's 3.7 ypc when he was in his 40s, and is most likely cherry picked as his worst year in a 20 yr career.

anyway, that's about 500 yds this year on those 100 carries for a 5 ypc in 2014 --- so, no, I don't think he can produce a career stat line like that.

That's hilarious.

I did laugh tbh

Updating an earlier report, free agent Trent Richardson will not play in the CFL.

Richardson was nearing a deal with the Saskatchewan Roughriders but instead he'll try to resume his career in the NFL. T-Rich wasn't comfortable signing a one-year deal with a second-year option, which would have locked him into two years playing in Canada. The former third overall pick hasn't played a down in the NFL since 2014.

There is still hope for Mr. Alphabet's prediction to come true, that Trent Richardson is a Mortal Lock to succeed. Hopefully all those who invested in dynasty leagues on his sage advice have held on to TRich as if he does well in the AAF, the next stop will be a return to the NFL.

Oh god.

Trent Richardson - RB -  Free Agent

Making his Alliance of American Football debut, Trent Richardson rushed 23 times for 58 yards and two touchdowns in the Birmingham Iron's 26-0, Week 1 win over the Memphis Express.

He added a two-point conversion. The former No. 3 overall pick of the Browns in 2012, Richardson is one of the biggest "names" in the AAF's inaugural season. Running the ball is the foundation of these AAF offenses, but it also happens to be the toughest thing to do since offensive line play is just so bad. Richardson was better than the numbers suggest, but that's not to say he looks like any sort of NFL talent at 28 years old with a lot of miles on the proverbial tires. Richardson last donned an NFL uniform in training camp with the Ravens in 2016.

Feb 10 - 8:51 PM

Trent Richardson rushed 19 times for 41 yards and one touchdown in the Birmingham Iron's 12-9, Week 2 win over the Salt Lake Stallions on Saturday, adding six catches for 50 yards on seven targets.

Richardson has been the offense for the 2-0 Iron through two weeks, rushing for 58 yards and a pair of scores in the Week 1 shutout of the Express before playing through a hamstring injury and scoring the game-winning touchdown with 4:48 left in this one. Richardson's rushing numbers aren't jumping off the page with a 42-99-3 line for a pitiful 2.36 YPC, but he's been a workhorse and has a nose for the end zone. Richardson isn't showing anything to get himself back in the NFL, but he's doing enough to remain a foundation piece in the AAF.
