Things you'll (probably) never do? (3 Viewers)

Schtick answers highly encouraged, but I was thinking of things (since I turn 52 tomorrow) that I'll probably just never do in my lifetime that are typically popular with other folks. Saw a couple of schlubs from SportsCenter went whitewater rafting and thought to myself "eh, I'll probably never do that".

Same with skydiving. No thanks.

Whatchoo got?

Skydiving definitely came to mind first. I don't like heights. Never appealed to me.

Other things that lots of people like to do with some thought:
1. Two girls at the same time/group sex (still will occasionally kick myself for not exploring the couple of potential opportunities for this I had during my dating years where girls expressed an interest but I didn't explore it with vigor). In other words, double date with ScarJo and Charlize.
2. Have a biological child.
3. Run a marathon (Never did one but somewhat regret not trying in my late 20s when I was in shape and my significant other was doing them - I imagine I'll never be in good enough shape to do one going forward).

Cocaine. Just to see what all the fuss is about
Drink a 5-hr energy and a monster at the same time, run around like a madman, sweat a lot and talk really fast out of your azz. There, now you know.

Oh yeah, pairs well with gallons of beer and makes your nose burn the next day.
One evening me and the boys dumped two 5 hour energies into a four loco. Called it a 14 loco. Both an amazing and horrifying experience at the same time.

Back in the day, got off work at midnight from a fast food joint and the crew convince the manager to go to a nearby 7-11 and drink a 2 litre Jolt cola for $50. This was when the slogan for Jolt was All the Sugar and Twice the Caffeine! Well, he drank it and then proceeded to almost pass out, thought he was having a heart attack and puked about 30 minutes later. We let him keep the $50.

Happy Bday for tomorrow.....

I am with you on the bungee jumping, but for some reason I go back and forth on skydiving....

I've done the white water rafting, not the hardcore trip, but decent and it was fun.

Skydiving, bungee jumping and cocaine are also on my “never” list.

Asphyxiation-related sex play would be another.
Yeah, another overrated activity. Dated a girl who liked this and I was just nervous the whole time that she would actually get injured. She also would ask to, uh, be hit during it and I refused to do that. Went from exciting to awkward pretty quickly.

Seems like there's a very limited list of stuff that people don't do because it's scary and dumb, and most us are in pretty good agreement what's on that list.

How about things that aren't dumb and that you probably would have liked to do, but where the opportunity or interest has likely passed you by?

Pretty much any mind altering drug (except alcohol). Always had a passing interest in seeing what weed, peyote, LSD, ecstasy, shrooms, etc. would do. I never partook - opportunity for that is long past.

Had an ex-gf that was into that stuff. She was a psychiatrist and used some in her therapy sessions, mostly Ketamine. She was a believer in it for mental health needs. She like her mushroom tea and pot. I tried pot and x in college, didn't really feel like expanding on it.

To the bold, this is where I'd put running a marathon, driving a race car super fast on a closed track, playing in the WSOP main event...

... and two chicks at the same time.

ETA: All not super dumb or dangerous things that I probably could have accomplished between 25 and 35 that I had genuine opportunities to do but passed them up and now look back with some regret.

Pretty much any movie that is over 3 hours long or book over 500 pages.

Went to Zion in March and from the starting point of Angel's Landing, I took more comfort in knowing I'd never do that hike than any affront to my ego.

My serious answer is going on a cruise. I've been pretty vocal here about how I dislike the idea of cruises for multiple reasons. Mainly, I see absolutely no advantage to a cruise over just directly visiting whatever destination it is you're going to. No forced schedules. Better food options, no norovirus, etc.

I've never been on a cruise, but I have heard the food options are outrageous!

Ride Steel Vengeance at Cedar Point. Too fat and the way the restraints are I don’t see it happening anytime soon (aside from the beer belly I have really thick thighs)

Yeah no real desire for this. I’d maybe consider a Pacific Northwest cruise but in general I just don’t get the appeal

Probably never win Powerball. Doesn't stop me from trying every now and then.
Yeah, that's like saying my time has passed for winning an Olympic gold medal or a Nobel. That was never a thing at any point in my (or just about anyone's) life.

Getting a tattoo is a good one. Last thing the world needs is an old guy getting a tattoo.
