Thoughts?

Best Stadium?

I'm a Tigers fan, but I'm not staying in Lakeland. Maybe Clearwater. Goto a Tigers at the Phils game.

What do I need to know, and what stadiums should I see?

TIA I'll hang up and listen :goodposting:

One of the best trips I've ever been on. Nothing like March baseball in the Florida sun after a long winter's nap.We stayed in Orlando so that we were centrally located. I'd suggest this if you plan on seeing most of the stadiums, it really keep the drive time down and allowed us to stay at the same hotel every night. The nicest stadium is definitely Atlanta's Cracker Jack Stadium at Disney's Wide World of Sports. Florida and St. Louis share a very nice facility in Jupiter, which offers you a chance to "kill two birds with one stone."Dodgertown is very cool, unfortunately I'm not sure what it is like now that the Dodgers are gone. :censored: Detroit should be a pretty easy ticket, Lakeland is not the best facility out there. If you have any specific questions, let me know...

I'm going next year for sure.

Best stadium/facility to me is the Phillies complex in Clearwater. Lakeland has done some renovations and it's a nice park although it's not like some of the others. Stay in Tampa and you can go to a number of stadiums in less than 90 minutes.

done this a few times.

first, back in early/mid 90s, as a single guy with group of friends. we scoured the schedule for the best group of days where we could get 2 games/day. One at 1pm, and then another that night. Plenty of driving and only for the hardcore, as it can wipe you out. We stayed in St. Pete (it was the year of that freak storm - 93?).

i think you almost have to choose the east or gulf coasts. you could stay in Orlando, as suggested, but you'll have a haul to get most anywhere. if you can't narrow it down to one of the coasts, it's not a bad plan.

I've always enjoyed going to Bradenton (Pirates). not sure why, maybe just nostalgia.

Might not be a bad idea to plan one half of your Florida trip in Tampa and the other somewhere on the East Coast.
