Thursday NIght Games and Waivers (1 Viewer)

Our league usually has rosters locked starting with first game of week. But the new schedule has a Thursday night game nearly every week. (Opening Thursday moved to Wed. for Obama and Week 16 has no Thursday but it has a Saturday game).

I think I'd like to see our league open first-come first-serve waivers starting Friday morning until Sunday 1PM.

Is your league changing its waiver rules?

And did you have to make a custom change (custom schedule) for MFL?

Lock all players who are in the Thursday games at the start of the game. Leave waivers open for everyone else until Sunday.

That is what we have done too. I was in a league though that ran two separate waivers Tues and Saturday (with no open ww even after Saturday) and it gets wickedly confusing. Plus, it is all for naught if a guy gets scratched last minute and you want to pick up someone last second.

you should get rid of that imo.

Run W2F or BB waivers Wednesday night and then open up FCFS. Everyone is locked when their game starts and waivers close at 1pm on Sunday.

Without a Thursday game, we would normally run BB waivers Wed night, W2F Friday night and then FCFS thru the early Sunday game. The locking Thursday players is a good idea but I think I'd like to freeze all roster spots during the game itself. The reason that we end waivers at time of first game Sunday is so that it doesn't penalize people who are at the game and might not be able to make waiver claims immediately if a major injury occurs. Not sure I like the idea of the waiver window open while the game is being played.I'm thinking about something like:Tues night: BB waiversWed Night: W2F waivers, FCFS waivers opens immediately afterThurs night: FCFS waiver closed at game time and players in that game roster/lineup lockedFriday morning: Second FCFS waiver windowSunday: 1 PM Eastern, Second FCFS waiver closed.

In weeks with Thursday games, my league clears waivers at midnight on Tuesday and Wednesday before the Thursday game, and at midnight on Friday after the game. All day Saturday and until noon on Sunday we have first come, first served waivers. Works great for us.

Nope. Our waviers have always been set up to lock up THU night players and leave everyone else available throughout Fri, Sat and Sun morning.

Nope. We always use a custom schedule. Not sure why more Thursday night games would require using a custom schedule for leagues that use a canned schedule, though.

We do BB waivers from 1pm Sunday until 11:59 pm Fri, then FCFS from 12am Sat until 1pm Sunday. That Saturday game late in the season doesn't matter because its during playoffs and our waivers are locked up before then.
