Tiger Woods (3 Viewers)

It's getting to the point that I'm almost pulling for him to win another major, just to bring all of the fanboys back out of the woodwork and stoke their flagging passion.

I think even they have to be tired of 'Chicken Little' Woods. So many times he has shot a round of par, talked about how it's coming around and bringing them to this thread only to make them look foolish time and time again.

There can't possibly be anyone left.

Safely in dead last place by 4 shots.

Watching replay. He just hit a chip about 3 feet. It needed to go about 15-20.

I'm hoping he finishes just off the lead at Bay Hill or one of his other favorite courses so the fanboys select him in the salary cap Masters pools.

Silly for the fans boys to chime in when he has a good round, equally silly for the haters to chirp today after his first round in months.
He has to have been practicing a bunch ahead of his first tournament back though - I'm guessing anyway.

His round is the least of his worries this week. At this course, each day he gets to drive by the house and road Elin chased him with a golf club on. Nothing like memories.

I thought it was dumb for him to come back so soon form back surgery for that stretch between The Open and Bridgestone. I figured a couple more months of rest/workout would give us a better view of what he has left.

Big difference between practice and playing a competitive round of golf on tour. Hey, I have $500 on Tiger not breaking Jack's record so I'm not rooting for the guy but I think he will be a top 10 player next year. I think it would be great of Tiger is playing well heading into the Masters. Tiger, Rory and Bubba all playing well at the Masters would be great TV.

this year is make or break for TW. I think he'll be decent but there are several guys who are just flat out better than him in every aspect of the game right now.

He's got one major left in him I think if he can get all the stars to align.

What is the origin of the term "unpack," which I've never heard anywhere other than here?

As for Tiger: save your $20. The guy will never win another major.

Pick a younger guy with good value odds and put your money on him.

I've deduced its meaning, but I hadn't heard the term before. It seems like one of the internet forum copycat words that make people feel like they're cool.

I think it was a Joeism.

Can you unpack that for me?

Let's just use this from now on.
You want us to keep it down to two syllable words as well? Don't want to confuse so early in the year.

Brandel Chamblee, Golf channel

“Tiger keeps alluding to the fact that he wants to go back and swing like he did in 2000, and who wouldn't?” Chamblee said. “He’s got to go back and have the body that he had in 2000. He needs to be more sinewy. Now, I've heard that he's lost a lot of weight, and I don't know if that's by design or by consequence, but, regardless, I think that's a step in the right direction.”
Hmmm, Tiger's not bulked up anymore. Probably just a clean diet!
