Tiger Woods (1 Viewer)

So you are finished with the nonsense now?
You're just confused about my stance on the subject.I still think he's a top player. Probably still the world's best (didn't he overtake Stricker for #1 yeterday?). My premise is that he's no longer so dominant that the others on the leaderboard get scared and choke on Sundays when Tiger's on the leaderboard with them. The competition used to lay down and die. Without the intimidation in his corner, he isn't rolling over his nervous-opponents anymore. In fact, I think it's now just the opposite. The fact that Tiger isn't winning majors is now in HIS head. Not making the cut in one of this years' majors and choking with his putter in another (to a total no-namer, btw) shows that the other guys on teh tour (even the nobodies) just consider him one-of-the-guys now. The mystique is gone.All I know is that Woods better win a major soon or some fan is going to get a driver upside the head.
Jesus.

Changing topics - I'll be in the Clubhouse at Sherwood CC with a bunch of my amigos on Thursday, 12/3. If any FBG's will be out there please join us for a beer or 10 on the balcony overlooking the 18th green. If you see a group with lots of drink tickets in hand, all with stogies burnin', that's us.

We're actually playing at 6:30am that morning (3 foursomes I think) at Tierra Rejada then making the trek over. Always one of our favorite days of the year.

The best thing going in this thread is the 2nd level Finless shtick that he is actually fishing. I mean, that make-believe shtick...but it would be clever if it were actually happening.

Care to elaborate on this? The girl I love is in Calgary. Just putting it out there.

This can't help his chances. This distraction might just be the tipping point that keeps Jack on top.
This is where you are wrong...Guy has been using inferior equipment with Nike for years and dominating....He will switch to Titliest and be owning in no time...

Looks like a few of the sharks saw something coming. Maybe we couldn't quite put our fingers on it....just picking up clues as he sauntered down the 18th fairway or carelessly duffed a shot into the weeds.

I think there's a lot that can be taken and studied within this thread. Not just about Tiger or golf or competition for that matter but about humanity....and maybe a little bit about ourselves. Sometimes we just have to have the courage to shine the light inside.

Paging Fin. :bag:
That 2nd shot on 18 gave me chills.
:goodposting:The putts on 16 and 17 are the ones that got the biggest fist pumps out of me. That is all I needed to see. If he holds it together today (Not necessarily win) if he just plays well....He is officially back, and will retain his World #1.Who knows though, it may have been a blip...
Yeah, might be a lot to overcome today from his own mistakes earlier in the tourmanent...that and Dustin Johnson is playing so well on this course.

Just because a bunch of you want him to be done, doesn't mean he is.

I think he has lost a step and he is not the Tiger from 4 or 5 years ago, but he is far from, done.

Woods just needs to play a lot more competitive golf. He needs to play more Tourneys than he has this season so far to get back into the groove. He was in the final four pairs in one of the toughest US Opens on Sunday after a stellar round on Saturday. The other players felt that. They still worry about him.

Heck Mickleson and Els blew this more than Woods did. They have a ton more experience than Johnson, McDowell, and the Frenchy have. This Tourney was really between them. Woods is in a period of transition, both personally and professionally. Yet he still had a shot at this Championship.

Stop mucking up this shtick-filled thread with solid analysis. TIA.

While it is obvious that Tiger screwed the pooch yesterday, there is no doubt in my mind that his game will be back soon enough. The back 9 performance on Saturday was vintage Tiger and quite frankly I didn't think he had that in him just yet. Still he probably woke up kicking himself today after giving away this championship yesterday. In the grand scheme of things though, the guy has two T4's in Majors this year while taking a lot of time off and dealing with some major demons.

:lmao: I don't care what your announcers say Tiger was "never in it and never a threat".

He started Sunday at -1, Even was the final winning score. If you don't think that he had a great chance to win with those results, I'm not sure there is much point in discussing golf with you, ever.

Probably a good idea, also just cross newbie of the list as someone to discuss golf with.Saying he was never in it when he started the day ahead of the winning score is hilarious.

Not sure where he goes from here. At this point I feel like he should retire before he tarnishes his legacy any more.
:moneybag: the guy's life fell apart this year. let's give him at least until the end of next season before writing off his career!
I doubt he is finished, but let's remember that all of his wounds are self-inflicted, so he doesn't get a pass.

Tiger will beat Jack's majors record. Not going well right now, to write him off is simply not knowing golf.
Tiger hasn't won a major in two years. He's not breaking Jack's record. He's barely an above average golfer there days (as far as the pros go).It's called karma.
:lmao:

Masters = Top 5

US Open = Top 5

British = Top 25

I wasn't aware that these were barely above average results. I feel terrible for nearly every other golfer on the tour.

Edit to add: Just because Tiger re-defined what it is to dominate the sport doesn't mean that he's merely "barely above average" when he comes back to the pack a bit. Is he Tiger of 2000? No. Is he still the best golfer in the world? Undeniably.
