Tiger Woods (1 Viewer)

I for one hate snowbirds who come to Cali and slow play down.
You one of those guys who gets pissed if he can race thru 18 in 2.5 hours?

Settle down and light up a spliff.
Thanks man, but we are in over seeding mode here. An Asian couple got pissed at the Ranger because they didn't drive the cart between the lined paths on the fairway. Her screaming at said Ranger had a decibel level that held up swings on the nearby holes.

Lol at Woods. The ball clearly moved. What a loser.
No no no. It oscillated.
Isn't it allowed to oscillate? I thought it if returned to its original position it wasn't a penalty. Am I wrong?
Nope, you're right.
Just saw a clip of it ...it actually looked like it sunk a little bit deeper. But that technically was movement, not oscillation. I'm inclined to think he didn't gain an advantage from it, but if removing the hindrance >> the slight settling of the ball, then he probably did gain from it. Coincidentally, like his last penalty, he didn't come out the better for it.

They need to put a camera crew on every single player for every single round of golf played in every tournament, if they are going to continue to allow this stuff.

I stopped rooting for Tiger when he cheated a while back. It showed he was not confident in his own game.

PM me when he is ready for the big time...

I think it moved, but all the pros in the shop I talked to went to bat for him saying it oscillated. I think Tiger knew it moved, but just has a defiant streak in him for what he perceives as ridiculous rules and even with $10M on the line can't get out of his own way. He wants the new wave of HD cameras following everybody (read: just him) to leave some common sense room. And he's willing to throw himself down on the track to do it. I think he's fed up with the jackasses in this thread AND Slugger and his buddies and has enough money that he both doesn't give a #### and still wants all of it. An interesting crossroads.

This times infinity. I wonder how many other times this exact same thing happened with other players in the tournament and nobody cared enough to put it on super slow-mo, under-the-constant-hot-lights scrutiny that only Tiger gets.

Huh? There isn't a cameraman within a half mile who has instructions to care. Tiger can't fart without an HD camera calling attention to it.

He knew it moved, but he also knew that everybody else in the field gets away with that. I thought he was a #### at first, but now I kind of like that he did it. #### Brandel Chamblee. Seriously. Enough with that ######## and his lol moral superiority and what would Bobby Jones do? Bobby Jones was ten times the ####### that Tiger Woods is.

Open this one up for me please

Poor Tiger. All that scrutiny.

:sadbanana:
You think it's OK that one player has the rules applied more strictly than for everyone else?
How so Otis? Every golfer has a camera on them at all times. Lefty, Rose, Scott, Kuchar, etc...all would have been captured on camera if they did this.
You think if this happen's to Kuchar's ball that anyone notices, or cares, or that a penalty is assessed?
Yep. Any golfer commits a penalty or what might not be a penalty, and it is captured on TV, it will be scrutinized.

Well, it is a good thing that you haven't a clue about it then isn't it?

Who was the fat walrus who got caught using a towel to kneel on to play a shot? Busted on TV for improving his stance imo.

But the reality is, professional golf needs to come in line with every other professional sport - have referees at tournaments, and scorekeepers. Let the referees make rulings, hell, have a replay official sitting in a tv booth - but for god's sake, and mine, stop this "holier-than-thou" attitude from golf purists about the integrity of the game. The game is not going to fall apart if players don't call every foul on themselves. Almost all golfers, except Vijay Singh, try to play within the rules, as they are intended. If they miss one, lets not crucify them.

And, seriously, stop this whole player must keep his own score crap. There is enough money in the game to have official scorers with every group in a professional tournament. Is that different than the weekend hacker? You bet, but the NBA is different than a pick-up game at the gym.

Any other PGA Tour member calls it on themself. Unless you are Vijay Singh, of course.

The break they gave Tiger is telling him about it before he signed his scorecard so he wouldn't be DQ'd. They wouldn't do that for anybody else, except maybe Lefty.

Trying to figure out what sports organization is more useless, the PGA or the NCAA.
The Tour generates boat loads and gives a crap ton away. I'd say it's pretty useful. How much does the NCAA give back?

No idea. Don't really care about it or your post. I was obviously referring to the enforcement of the existence of their stupid rules. Bully for them donating money. Their tournaments can be governed and controlled by middle aged single guys that don't know what a woman is but have the PGA tour handbook handy in their other hand while watching on TV. The WWE is more realistic.

Bull####.

Go look at Phonix in the shark pool. Plenty of people like being cop whether they're wearing a badge or not.

Odds of Tiger getting called out an infraction increase because more of his game is shown on tv. That doesn't mean others aren't subjected to it happening to them.

You could be waiting a while if not forever. This guys game is now only good enough for the ham & egger circuit, not for winning majors.

Does everyone else pretty much find the Fed Ex cup a joke?

One easy improvement would be to have the last tourney (Tour Championship) be for the $10 million without the rigged up points gimmick that no one on earth cares about or understands. I'd watch if they said, "Winner this weekend gets $10 million in cash." That would be easy to follow without having to keep up with the point standing bull ####.

Agree.

Just make the playoffs the right to play for 10MM. The stupid contrived rule where you could win the last tournament, but not actually "win" the cup is beyond dumb. This way it makes it more like a major.

this scoring system is retarted

Basically nobody budges except for the winner and runner-up. Everyone else just shifts one or two slots. Based on what I'm reading of the 30 golfers next week only reasonably 10-12 have a shot at it.

I got to be out at Conway Farms 3 of the days. Today I'm watching at 17 tee for an hour or so. Guy in front of me looked more like an Oakland Raider fan than golf fan. When tiger hit his shot on 17, the guy yelled "it's a HOLE IN ONE". The guy then proceeds to leave. He must have waited 2 hours just to yell that. I found it odd.

Tiger Woods would like to see a time limit placed on when television viewers can call in to report possible rules violations, and the PGA Tour has vowed to consider the matter. This season, at the Masters and the BMW Championship, Woods was spotted breaking rules on screen and, in each case, was later penalized two strokes. He was also involved in incidents at two other tournaments.

"There needs to be a time limit and I think there needs to be a discussion of obviously where is that time limit," he told reporters at the Tour Championship in Atlanta. "Where is that line demarcation?"
I guess it would make cheating easier.

Someone should go through the footage of his past major wins. Wouldn't be shocked if half of them were revoked for cheating.

This thread has gone to hell.

I agree. I would take it a step further and make the Tour Championship a 2 day stroke play event, then the top 16 finishers play match play for the 10MM. I would to see an 18 hole match to determine the 10MM winner.

The points during the year and the playoffs determine if you have a shot at the 10MM. I don't like it that only 5 players control their own destiny. I would like it better that all 30 control their own destiny.

I'm with you guys; like the concept, not the execution.

I think the biggest problem is that they take forever to narrow down the field. They should make it more like 120-60-30-15. Would make the stakes for the other events bigger, plus then you could have the winner of the final event take the $ no matter what since you'd already narrowed the field down to the guys who had great years and "deserve it." Maybe make it 16 instead of 15 and do a match play tourney like you said.

Tiger was 5 under a little while back and making a serious charge up the leaderboard, cracking into the top 10. Now he looks like a 12 handicap, doubling 14, bogeying 16, and in the water looking at another double on 17. mush.

edit: burp, excuse me, triple bogey.
