Tiger Woods (1 Viewer)

lod01, I know you are nothing but a troll, but on the off chance you aren't, answer three questions for me.

1. What is 'back' for Tiger?

2. Is he the best player in the world currently?

3. Do you think he has a mental or talent deficiency that will keep him from winning more majors?
Troll reporting in.

1. Winning majors. He would tell you the same.

2. Rankings say so. Do I think he is? No. I think Dufner is better right now.

3. Nope. He should win at least 1 more major. He could also easily beat Jack's record as he is currently tied based on age and # of majors. Jack won 2 at age 40. Tom Watson almost won a major at age 59 I believe so you are looking at 20 more years of competing unless his ailments shelve him. The seal training he did was a really dumb idea.

I think almost everyone in here would agree with most of this. Except maybe the Dufner bit. Tiger's inconsistent, but he's still flat out better than the field 5-10 times a year.

1. Agreed somewhat. I believe his game is back. 2. Dufner is another guy. He's great now but not top in the world. Keegan, Dustin, Kucher, Mahan etc etc etc. Only guy at the top right now with proven track record is Tiger.

3. Completely agree on the Seal training. Horrible idea, totally unnecessary.

Tiger's drive drills spectator. That'll teach ya to stand in the line of fire. Probably screamed 'you da man' right before impact.

update. he did but it was 'you da....####er!'

3. Rory would be if he hadn't taken the nike money and ran. I'm thinking that $200 million was too much to pass up.

2 spectators hit, 1 fish also hit. :bag: Sorry Otis. Just when the guy gets you guys on the edge of your seats, he disappoints.

Good for 1 big round per tourney.

Nice shot there, could walk away from that with a bogey after a bad tee shot and putting it in the water.

Mickelson getting into the mix here too.

So you think he's done, not the best player in the world at this time, but "could also easily beat Jack's record?" Easily? What? Then wdcrob says he thinks "most everyone in here would agree with this except maybe the Dufner bit? Agree? What?

It's unreal that tiger has won 79 times. Love him or hate him, that's unreal.

His playing partner today, hunter mahan, a pretty darn good golfer in his own right, has 5. 5!

And it's looking like tiger didn't go to Applebee's

I'll say the same to your post. What? Your post makes zero sense.

I say he's not the best because he has no majors in the last 4+ years, wins tourneys that he plays all the time (pads his wins in tourneys like Bridgestone, Arnie's, Cadillac, and Farmers) and loses tourneys where he doesn't play all the time. See today. Totally different golf course than years past.

Which line says I think he's done? He could easily beat it. He as at least 40 more shots at a major based on oldest winner and 75 based on Tom Watson's Open feat a few years ago. I'll repost. JACK WON 4 at an age older than Tiger (and had 3 2nd place finishes). Can you read?

Jesus, he hits someone with every shot. He's using the spectators to stop his ball. Gotta give him credit for creativity.

If nothing else, the bad back now gives him a ready-made excuse every time he gags on Sunday now.

Jokes aside, I will say it again: never underestimate what a bad back does to you physically and mentally. Even if it feels great for weeks, months, etc., you always have it in the back of your mind that it could flare up on you at any time, and don't think that isn't affecting Woods' psyche.

It is way harder to win majors at 40+ today than it was when Jack did it. So many better players today than back then.

One good round. Nothing to see here.

At 23, Reed became the youngest winner of a World Golf Championship.

Woods failed to make a birdie in the final round for the first time in his career and closed with a 78, his highest Sunday score ever.

It was the second straight time Reed has won wire-to-wire.
Reed is a very impressive young player.

Starting to feel a little like this could be the year Tiger starts showing real decline.

I've long thought his medical issues would be the most likely thing to derail his career longevity and success.

Still early for that. The biggest issues are health and putting. He can't seem to string exceptional putting rounds together for three, four, six, and beyond rounds. That is what this is all about. He can still scramble with the best of them. He's the best scrambler who ever lived. He can still do that. It's all putting. And outside of injuries, I wouldn't worry about him in the context of this year yet. He didn't practice at all this offseason. Like didn't touch a club. That has been confirmed. He's practicing in competition now. Tiger 6.0.

You said, "He's a middle of the road talent now."You said, "I laugh at you guys thinking that he's back." Those were only in the last few pages.

This entire thread is about whether he's done.

You can't have it both ways man. Mocking others that think he's back, which he is at #1 in the world. Middle of the road guys don't "easily" win 5 Majors.

Wait a second. Tiger is ranked #1? Not in Fed-Ex nor All-Around ranking.

Where is he #1?

You really don't know much. The OWGR is so far behind in an upgrade it isn't even funny.

Go to a PGA Tour page and look at what they have ranked and not one that still credited McIilroy points for a US Open victory two years previous. Really think McIlroy is #6 in the world?
