Tiger Woods (2 Viewers)

Saw an article that said Tiger is saying he's making shots he's never been able to make before. And while I agree with his statement, he meant it in a positive way.

That spells bad news for Woods heading into the U.S. Open, which is the tightest driving test in competitive golf. U.S. Open host Chambers Bay may have wider fairways than the typical pencil-thin setup found at most national championships, but the challenge of the Robert Trent Jones Jr. design is in position and placement. If Woods can't place his ball where he needs to get the right bounce to get to an ideal spot to approach these large, undulating (an understatement) greens, he's going to be in trouble and looking at a quick exit.

So, for the people who say Tiger just needs to play more, should he be playing this week at the Par 70 TPC Southwind at Memphis?
By the way, I used to shred that course on Sega Golf back in the day.
PGA Tour 3. Back in the day, I'd have challenged anyone on Earth to one round on that game for $100. Except don't ask me to play on Avenel or worse, PGA West Stadium. The greens on those courses were so annoying.

I actually broke the code on how to putt those greens. I was fairly decent hitting the ball, but my buddies were much better. But I showed them how to putt. I don't remember it exactly, but it was something like you took the distance to the hole and looked at the first number of the distance. So if it was 54 feet, you took the 5. If it was 37 feet, you took the 3. Then you would count up however many grid lines from the ball using that number. From that grid line, you would count the number of angles on the break inside the square. Sega couldn't draw a diagonal line, so it was choppy. Whatever that number was, you clicked it one time for each number in that direction.

I seriously could 1 putt almost any green. I loved Avenel because I could win solely based on putting being the difference.

This was before the internet really took off too much so I don't know if others had figured out the way to putt, but none of my friends could ever duplicate what I could. Out of everything in life, that was probably my greatest skill ever. And I'm still proud of it.

I hated Avenel at first. But once I mastered all the other courses, I became obsessed with figuring out how to putt those greens. Once I did, I gave up Sega Golf for good.

big fan of tiger. i mean he's the michael jordan of golf, and came up at the same time i started playing and getting interested in golf.

that being said, i don't think he'll ever win another tournament. He's completely lost. Sad to see, never thought i'd say it, but he's finished.

Good grief I hope not. Call me a nuthugger but I think he turns it around and gets it back to a level where he competes and wins again. It would be one of the greatest disappointments ever if he truly is done.

How much did Oats put on Tiger at 60-1?
Tried to drop 500 last night but couldn't get the stupid website to accept my CC. Online gambling is way too hard these days.

I'd offer that to someone here but I have little confidence of the Internet paying out that kind of bet.

The obsession in here hoping for a guy to fail is weird. It's like those dudes in the FFA that get obsessed with another dude and follow him around from thread to thread with snarky comments.

No. Posting about Tiger being done in a thread about Tiger being done is nowhere near following around someone from thread to thread with snarky comments. Trust me - I've got a few of those. He's got his fans and he's got his haters - like anything else in life. Not sure what you're so incredulous about. It's a 210 page thread about Tiger Woods, what is it you'd like to have happen in here?
