Tiger Woods (4 Viewers)

I didn't realize how strong the field is. They showed up for him. Though I'm guessing DJ being there is strictly TM wooing Tiger.
Could also be that there's a $3.5M purse for this tourney with only an 18 man field.  Pretty good bank even for finishing last here.  LOL

He got everybody from the RC team, minus Phil. Plus Rose, Stenson and Matsuyama. That field is loaded.
Wow.  Yeah, that's even better than this field normally does.

You might be right, it could be his free agent status.  Or last year was the first time this thing was in the Bahamas.  Maybe word got out that it was an awesome trip?

Still hoping the real Tiger returns.  Tiger clashing with the young guns would make 2017 golf electrifying.

Go ahead, make all of your jokes.  I still like the guy.

Don't let these guys bagging on him fool you.  They'll be rooting for him like crazy if he's anywhere near the top of a leader-board.

This times a million.  Would make golf unmissable every week this year.  Would be so awesome.

I don't really like him, but I'm rooting for him.  It would be great for the game if he's good again.

Sounds like he had a solid practice round today, FWIW.

His retooled swing looks like it could help him stay healthy.  I bet he plays a lot this year.   Doubt he competes in the big tourneys but just being there is good for golf.

Why wouldn't he compete in the big tourneys? That's what he does. Of course if he doesn't qualify for a WGC then he won't be in that.

Same here.  Golf is better with Tiger on the course.  I wish him the best.

  I'm a 7 handicap and I've been 4 under through 6, twice.
My brother shot a 29 (par 35) as a +2 about 35 years ago. Most amazing round I've ever seen, even if it was on a 3,100 yard muni in a Monday night beer league. Drive and a wedge to 6 holes, on the 490 yard par 5 he hit the green in 2 with a 7 iron. Two man teams - 2 points per hole, 3 for the aggregate score. I think we ended up with 19 or 20 points for the night. I had probably my best night ever job driving the cart & tending the pin.

I should have been more clear.   He will obviously be there.   I just don't think he will seriously challenge on Sunday at any of them.

I do think we night get a nicklaus type run at Augusta one year.   That would be fun to watch

Hottest. Take. Ever.

There's No Fanfare, Excitement or Hope as Tiger Woods Finally Returns to Golf

For this comeback, there's no sense of anticipation. It's not like when Tom Brady or Peyton Manning got back in the huddle after a year away or when Michael Jordan rallied for one final try.

Admit it, Tiger fans. You're praying your guy just manages to dodge crooked numbers and stay out of the 80s. If he can play 72 holes without having to schedule another back surgery, you'll consider it a win.

@GCTigertracker is a good follow on twitter for getting a play by play of how he's doing.  Kind of a funny guy, too.

lol at Chamblee calling Tiger "one of the best" putters of all time.   the guy is far and away the best clutch putter the sport has ever seen.

Well, he's -3 through 7 and just knocked it to 3 feet on 8.  He's looking pretty damn good.

His swing is noticeably different.  Much more upright and doesn't look to be swinging nearly as hard.
