Tiger Woods (2 Viewers)

Didn't pay for it.  Checking the blog every so often.  Tiger is a boring guy from the times I played with him as a kid.  He's not that outgoing especially when the cameras are on or there's golf to be played.  I can't imagine this is the right environment for him.  He's more about delivering on the course than with his words.  His jokes are more for the bar room.

Phil is a total trash talker.  He trash talks getting out of the car.  But he needs someone that will talk back.  I don't see Woods doing that other than a few one-liners.

Hopefully it's going OK.  No way I'd pay anything for it though.
You're in luck, it's free on bleacher report live.

So, any 9-iron, sleeping-in-the-car, or Perkins hostess jabs yet?

ETA, not sure where you really hit Phil, other than calling him "Mickletits"

I have played in the dark with no lights. One time me and a buddy were out on the course and couldn't tell where our balls went. Par 5 17 we didn't have much trouble. Then par 4 18 went down a little then way up a hill. Straight. I hit mine and pretty much knew where it went, but couldn't see it. My 6'9" buddy hit his and we couldn't see it either. he said "I hit it good but have no idea where it went. I found mine where i though it was on right side of fairway. We couldn't find his. Then we did. 20 feet short of the green, right in front of it. it was a 320 yard hole. Both of us were  :jawdrop:

Perspective: Phil Mickelson adding $9 million to his worth, on a percentage basis, is the equivalent of the average American winning about $1,600.

Overall it was entertaining, but Ernie Johnson kept talking over the players walking from hole to hole and at the tee box.

I think they should have had Bill Murray walking the course with them and a whole lot less commentary.

Having one hole each where they could make Charles Barkley hit for the other player would have been good.  Either that or one million dollar mulligan.

He’s obviously doesnt need the cash but this payday will be like 20% bump for the year’s earnings. He did a few yuckity yuck interviews and played golf for a day. Probably some of the easiest money he’s ever earned.

I'd just subtly start talking about US Open wins...

This will expand into more players next year surely...love the idea of having a celeb match mixed in, like Romo v Steph.

That was a sweet scoop shot Tiger hit to get his ball out from under that bush today.  I totally believe him that he didn't feel it at the time.  Totally.  I sometimes don't know when I've scooped or double hit the ball.  For sure.

Time to dust this baby off.

Tiger has legit shot to win majors this year at courses he has already won them on.  Pebble, Bethpage next month and, of course, Augusta.

I think he is in the hint this Sunday.  I expect a bunch of guys to be.  Doesn’t get any better.

We should merge this thread with the Curse of Oak Island thread. What happens first, they find the gold or Tiger wins a major? Or neither?

There's a lot of fire power in front of him already. Didn't shoot himself out of it, but four back already isn't ideal.
He shot a 70. I believe three of the four times he’s won the masters, he shot a 70 on Thursday. (The fourth time he shot like a 74).

That was also a time when he was at least 14 years younger.  A time when if he was within a few shots of the lead the field trembled. Now? Not so much.

He’s never led after 18...but when he starts well (70) he’s always finished Top 10. He’s happy tonight. Has to putt though to win.

Definitely has to putt better. His driving today should have gotten him lower. Obviously it's just one putt, but the par attempt on 17 was Sergio-like, fading meekly to the right with no prayer.
