Brad Pitt's acting in that final scene is not good, though. "What's in the boooox?" Se7en is my #1 movie that's "really good but I don't ever need to see it again". It's so damn bleak.

No surprise, but I am the opposite- probably seen this one 50+ times.

This is an obvious movie with not-so-obvious monologues because of their lack of verbiage. Some of the other moments (final parole, Mozart, etc.) would have made good choice as well, but this one captures the spirit of the movie, and (for me) is one of the best movie moments period.

well, it need to be motor vehicles w/ tires as the main components - cars, trucks, motorcycles, etc. I don't want an aircraft chase/etc. Or some long "chasing a train" train scene.

However, if there's a car chase and an aircraft or train eventually makes an appearance / joins in, that's fine.

9.20 Munich - Spy Movie

Munich is a 2005 historical film about the Israeli government's secret retaliation against the Black September group after the Munich massacre during the 1972 Summer Olympics. The film was produced and directed by Steven Spielberg and written by Tony Kushner and Eric Roth.

The film shows how a squad of assassins, led by former Mossad agent Avner (Eric Bana), track down and kill a list of Black September members thought to be responsible for the murders of eleven Israeli athletes. The second part of the film, which depicts the Israeli government's response, has been debated a great deal by film critics and newspaper columnists. Spielberg refers to the film's second part as "historical fiction", saying it is inspired by the actual Israeli operations, known as Operation Wrath of God.

I saw this film in the movies and haven't returned to it since but still vividly remember almost every detail. It was a little slow moving at times but I thought there were great performaces and it was a riveting story.

To be clear (after the Day of the Jackal debate, while this movie involves multiple assasinations it is a spy movie at heart. Form Wiki:

The Mossad is responsible for intelligence collection, covert operations, and counterterrorism, as well as bringing Jews to Israel from countries where official Aliyah agencies are forbidden, and protecting Jewish communities. Its director reports directly to the Prime Minister.

10.06 The Boys from Brazil - Nazis

A remarkably well done movie. While it's a completely fictional film, unlike many of the choices that will fill this category, it has plausability at least and is an interesting take on the legend of the Nazis in hiding in South America.

11.03 - Once Upon A Time In America - New York
The film tells the story of David "Noodles" Aaronson (Robert De Niro) and his Jewish pals, chronicling their childhoods on New York's Lower East Side in the 1920s, through their gangster careers in the 1930s, and culminating in Noodles' 1968 return to New York from self-imposed exile, at which time he learns the truth about the fate of his friends and again confronts the nightmare of his past.

The film premiered at the 1984 Cannes Film Festival in April and, according to Howard Hughes' book Crimewave: A Filmgoer's Guide to Great Crime Movies, received a "15 minute standing ovation". Several sneak premieres in Canada and the US gained a mixed reception at best (some suspect due to studio tampering). The film was then cut again – without the supervision of Sergio Leone – to 139 minutes for cinema distribution in the United States. Roger Ebert wrote in his 1984 review that the uncut version was "an epic poem of violence and greed" but described the American theatrical version as a "travesty". Ebert's television movie critic partner Gene Siskel considered the uncut version to be the best movie of 1984.
The uncut version of the film is considered to be far superior to the severely edited version shown in America. James Woods, who considers Once Upon a Time in America Leone's finest work, mentions in the DVD documentary that one critic dubbed the film the worst of 1984, only to see the original cut years later and call it the best of the 1980s. The cut and paste issue is internal to this site. I can paste from Wikipedia just fine. But if I go to page one of this folder or the messages and copy something, it is gone by the time I get here to paste it.
