14.06 Sunshine - Outerspace

Sunshine is a 2007 British science fiction adventure thriller film directed by Danny Boyle. The film was adapted from a screenplay written by Alex Garland about the crew of a spacecraft on a dangerous mission to the Sun. In 2057, with the Earth in peril from the dying Sun, the crew is sent on a mission to reignite the star with a nuclear bomb with the mass of Manhattan. The script was based on a scientific back-story that took the characters on a psychological journey. The director cast a group of international actors for the film, and had the actors live together and learn about topics related to their roles, as a form of method acting. To have the actors realistically react to visual effects that would be implemented in post-production, the filmmakers constructed live sets to serve as cues. The ensemble cast features Cillian Murphy, Chris Evans, Rose Byrne, Michelle Yeoh, Cliff Curtis, Troy Garity, Hiroyuki Sanada, Benedict Wong, Chipo Chung, and Mark Strong.
Yes. My pick wouldn't work in that category (I don't think).

We all know what's going to happen here. We're going to wait for Rikishi to time out and then continue on.

So can't we just cut to the chase?

14.23 - Melancholia - No idea

To the tunes of Tristan & Isolde...People are sad. Kirsten Dunst gets naked. The earth is destroyed. The latter two events are not half bad. The last feels like a mercy killing by the time it happens.

Why? Nobody knows.

The Earth distruction stuff is pretty cool.

1 hour. You can pick nowETA sorry, my iPad seems to be fast

A great documentary about what is pretty well a real life non-satirical Spinal Tap metal band.

Here is the Van Gogh Dream from Akira Kurosawa's Dreams:

The music is Chopin. There are several dreams in this movie that I think would have made good picks. Kurosawa has a great imagination. The film overall was somewhat uneven IMO, but there are some sublime moments. This was one of them.

14.23 Kenneth Branagh, Multiple Roles - Dead Again

A criminally underrated movie in my book, this is a rollicking old school thriller about mistaken identities, reincarnation love, and most dastardly...MURDER

15.03 Day For Night, Shooting a Movie Scene

Possibly my favorite movie about making movies, there are a lot of scenes to choose from...I am going to re-watch and choose (probably not until this weekend)

You just stole my WTF movie.

This movie was part of a film club I was in 20 odd years ago. 90% of the audience walked out 30 minutes in, but I stuck with it.

By the halfway stage I was reading a book.

I understand it is "Dreams" and I know Krista loves this, but for me it is just an intellectual wank.

15.07 Way of the Gun- Shoot out

My personal favorite, and this is an awesome looking clip of it. The subtext between these two character is one of the most underrated relationships in the history of film. This gem is overlooked far too often.

Sorry for the hold up, crasnhed early and did not think it would gets to me, since I was about thirty picks away. Anyway here is one the other will be later..

14.25 ending fight scene from drunken master 2

Tim, please move Cool Hand Luke-50 Eggs to Gambling Scene.

This next one is for all you ladies out there...

14.12 Eastern Promises - Bathhouse Fight - Fight Scene

I don't think I can link to this one because of the presence of Viggo's crotch dongle, but it's there on You Tube if you search for "Eastern Promises Bath Fight" for anyone that doesn't know it. It's a brutal scene and a classic fight.
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Totally forgot about Dead Again. Great movie.

15.15 Club Fever, Collateral -- Shootout

, which I considered for gambling scene ("Improvise? That's funny, coming from you. How's this: I'll ask a question. Jazz question. Now you get it right, we roll, you disappear. Tonight.").Sidenote #3: The song in this scene plays roughly 8 billion times in Forza 3.

15.17 Watership Down - scene that scared you as a child

I'm deciding between two scenes but wanted to keep this moving along. Whole damn movie was terrifying.

I am usually just glad when a kid actor doesn't bring down a movie for me. Still not sure how I feel about the movie as a whole, but I think this kid nailed and had to carry a large portion of this movie:

14.16: Max Records in Where the Wild Things Are (performance by a child actor)

Probably would be mad at myself if I didn't take this one. Not a category that I will excel at since I usually go out of my way to avoid dancing scenes, so I might as well have fun with it. Was going to take this one for my classroom scene, but glad I will snag it in some form:

15.10:

(dance scene)

When is the deadline for switching categories?

I know how I felt about it; possibly the worst movie I've ever seen. The kid was good though.

it may have contended for top spot. "Something doo economics, voodoo economics". That is almost how my class is on Monday mornings. Classic scene.

before the last pick I would imagine.

15.18 - Henry Fonda in The Cheyenne Social Club - Dramatic actor in comic role

If you haven't seen this, I highly recommend it. Great team-up of Fonda and James Stewart.

Go ahead and skip me if my turn comes up. Gotta step out for a bit but will check in later tonight.

And don't be snipin' my ####.

15.19 - Cheech and Chong's Up In Smoke - Drugs

Lots of serious drug movies taken. Not mine.
Now THIS is a great pick. Ever seen the weird old guy, kind of looks a little like Donald Sutherland, who sits next to Jack Nicholson at Laker games? That's the director, Lou Adler. He was also the guy who produced Carole King's Tapestry album. And he owns the Roxy theater.

15.20 Ned Beatty Squeals Like a Pig (Deliverance) - Shocking Scene

Semi NSFW

Shocking. Disturbing. Jon Voight is perhaps a little insulted.
