Have you ever hear some of the stats he put up in youth football and in H.S.? The man has been dominant at every level of football he has ever played at. He's simply the best RB in the game.
This is a pretty bold statement. I have him in a keeper league and I think he is a great RB, but it's a little too early to be saying this. Would everyone here take him #1 in redraft...because I wouldn't yet.
I would.
Fair enough. He has the talent, but I don't like the Min. situation. Bad QB, Taylor still there, I know there OL is good but wouldn't you put 8-9 in the box and make Jackson beat you? I would still put LT2 at #1 with Peterson and Jackson pretty close together right now at #2 in redraft. I could easily see me taking Peterson at #2 though. I wouldn't argue much with people ranking him #1, I just am not one to have knee jerk reactions to players and would rather take the proven track record of LT2. Then again I also wasn't quick to dismiss LJ or Alexander last year and that was not a good move.
I won't argue with someone taking LT over him in a redraft. But, I wouldn't call it a "knee-jerk". If you watched him play, there is simply no question about his talent. His situation is no different than last year and arguably better with another year for TJax and Rice and the addition of Berrian. He trailed off at the end of last year, but there are reasons that could definitely explain that (injury, rookie wall). In a redraft, I see LT and AP as 1a and 1b and both have equally good chance to finish #1. There is no denying LT's track record, but there is no denying AP's talent. His #'s aren't a fluke like has been the concern for most rookies in the past.
