All right, if that's the way you want it.
If nobody is willing to take your team by the time you're up again, I will, and I'll send you the money back. But we'll see if somebody is willing to do so first. I do wish you'd reconsider though.

First miss was at 5:59pm ET (note my post stamps are CST)
8EBOK24 made his picks at 6:19ET so HAD Bender been given the full hour the second time, it still would have lapsed 50 minutes prior to arriving back at 7:09.8ebok24 said:

If I had been given my full hour, tim's pick may have came after that hour. Rikishi's pick could have came an hour after that. In which case, I'd have had plenty of time to take the player I missed out on due to the made up rule.
It's all neither here nor there, but your logic is flawed on this - as was tim's on the decision originally.
On top of the faulty logic with the ruling was the lack of any one hitting me up with a note that I was up. Those 2 things together and we all can agree 100%, I got dry gorilla raped here this evening.

why would Commish Tim setup a $100 fantasy league draft on a messageboard? There are numerous free draft websites that actually allow for teams to be notified of when they are up in the draft via email or test all over the web.

Usually when drafts happen, and this occurs:
"Did anyone PM Bender yet before we skip him?" is posted...

Actually your logic is flawed.
Rikishi's pick was 34 minutes after Tim's pick, and only because he wasn't awake. Had we pushed tim's pick back an hour he most certainly would have been awake then as well. Safe to assume?
That said... even IF we assume Rikishi would have taken the same 34 minutes to pick (unlikely), you didn't arrive until 50 minutes after your deadline, meaning Watkins would have still been gone.
I think part of your issue is assuming that all picks have 1 hour window.... meaning 8 picks will usually take 8 hours. Reality is 8 picks likely go off the board in a fraction of that time.
Again... I'm a big Bender fan.... just trying to inject some facts into the case.

Would waiting the second full hour have made a difference? No. That's a red herring in this case given the pick timing.
So, this is purely a case of you being absent from the draft for 21 hours and being upset you weren't PM'd your turn came up in that timeframe. Not saying it's without merit here... just laying out facts.

Bummer. Hate to see this happen.
Everyone made their first round pick, so it's not like anyone didn't realize the draft had started.
I fell bad for ya Bender, but this is the way things have gone the last 3 years. Someone always times out in the early rounds, and the later rounds are even worse. It sucks, but it's not Tim's fault or anyone else's. You wanna "go home" cause we didn't break the rules for you; what about Bonzai or whoever else it was that also missed a couple of picks already? We'd have had to shut down the draft every time someone couldn't make their pick on time, and wait till they were ready.

Seems like we just need some rules established for the new blood at least for these online message board drafts. Haven't done fantasy in years. Hardly even know what's going on. But I get a PM in the "Classic Rock songs from 1972" draft like clockwork, but can't even get a courtesy note after the 2nd time I get skipped through in a $100 league. And yes, it stings more that the very guy picking in front of me (who would usually send the note) is:
A. the commish - who might have some interest in keeping new guys engaged, informed, up to date via a PM before going in dry on them.
B. posted more today than any other person on FBGs but doesn't have the time to send a 2 word note to me
C. also made up the rule as the sole arbiter that ####ed my comeback pick and cost me losing my next selection
this isn't skipped in the traditional sense because someone was just an idiot and forgot to keep up. This is a confluence of 3 different things that is pretty much the biggest injustice we've seen since someone called MOP at work.

I think you're thinking too big here. We should start with just requiring a online common courtesy training course to for all league members.

Sorry man. it really has been a fun league. We lost all the pot last year in the Unlucky bankruptcy/scam, but must everyone is back.Sorry you feel like you got hosed, but no one many any ill will. I'll vouch for it, whatever that is worth.
The rule is you get passed if the clock runs out and you makeup any missed picks as soon as you can post, regardless of who's on the clock. The "unwritten rule" over the last 3 seasons is that we adhere to that rule without exception. Like I said, it happens to someone every year.

In my limited interaction with Bender on here, he seems like a pretty cool dude. However, I've been seeing Tim post on here for years as well and have a pretty good read on him and I'm pretty certain he wouldn't intentionally try to screw anyone. Tim has always been a straight up guy. He was making the best decision that he thought was most fair to everyone. I'm not the rule maker but I know Tim wasn't trying to screw you, Bender. Come on, man. It's just Sammy Watkins vs Martavis Bryant. There's not much difference, if any. Let bygones be bygones and stick it out with us. This ain't no perfect system. This type of #### happens every year. Highly unlikely it affects your win total in a league this big with a lot of people who know quite a bit about ff. It's not a big deal. Move on and stay in it with us.

I hope you all realize, my over the top anger here is 100% shtick (I even PM'd Ref telling him that I was going the over the top angry shtick with this one before this all started).
Am I slightly annoyed no one shot me a PM? Yeah, and tim, all due respect, don't tell me you don't have the time to do that - that was def something you could have done and had the time to do today judging on your board activity. The "unwritten rule" needs to be laid out for new guys as well on a message board draft.
Other than that, I've been laughing at the responses. I figure once people are starting with the "Bender is a cool dude but..." I should probably drop the shtick now and let you guys know it bothered me slightly for about 10 seconds and I was moving on but thought I'd try to shake things up here tonight

Sorry - I thought the goal of this draft was always to make it as big a cluster#### as possible. I was taking inspiration from tim being pissed off at Dodds a few years ago with the Philip Rivers issue

Meanwhile bucksoh is 56 minutes into his one hour allotment and parked in the thread, as are the next four drafters. It would be nice is the classy end of this draft could demonstrate to the rest of the world how to execute the turn in a draft.
