Kerry Coombs is Ohio State's secondary coach. He's been reported as signing to be on Vrabel's staff but no one knows what his position is. I hear ST coach
James Betcher got "congrats for joining the Titans" messages, tweets, and even a sign on his car. He signed with the Giants as their DC. Word is Vrabel wanted him to wait til after Senior Bowl and he didn't want to miss the opportunity. Most interesting is he actually took 100k less rather than wait a week.
Day, who was interested and offered OC job, got even more $ from Ohio State during the delay. Reports are anywhere from 800k to 1.4mil
Brian Callahan is released from the Lions and interviewing to be Jets QB coach and Titans OC. Obviously, we're the preferred job. Earlier they turned down the opportunity for Redskins to interview him. He flew to Mobile and interviewed. There is another interview after Senior Bowl but he seems likely to be the OC.
They did meet with Mariota's high school coach who is at the Senior Bowl. Pics online. Oddly enough, Lebeau was interviewed about him and all complimentary. (told ya so) I can't figure out if Lebeau just can't hang em' up or is gonna wind up being a consultant or what's going on. He flat out says he's retired. He also said he turned down opportunities. Anyway, I still might get my wish for him to be Mariota's QB coach. Saban and Lebeau impressed is a pretty good start for recommendations.
Remember I said Jason Michael's exit interview went well and he's been retained? He signed a contract (no position) and was paid in 2018 and then received notice he's no longer with the team. Andrew Brandt said (paraphrasing) Vrabel seems excited and a bit disorganized but maybe it's good he gets it out of the way now. It's not like he's hired a full staff before. He doesn't expect anyone in the NFL to take this negatively so we shouldn't read into it. Expect Vrabel (if he needs replacements) to hire right away next year.
Rumors and idk- Schwartz to be DC and Assistant head coach. There are reports he only had a two year contract and is free after Supe and reports that he has a three AND four year deal and Eagles won't allow any lateral move. Belichick gave JRob an earful about trying to take his staff members. JRob chatting with Tampa people a lot more than Pats people. I forget Cal coach and Washington coach's names but this is third year that he's spent lots of time with them. I think they added two Cal players last year, Muhammad and...idk. I don't know the connection but there's pics online again and it's definitely present.
Titans trainer have been retained by Moustache. Titans trainer is one of the best, if not the best, per injuries each year and has been with the team for a super long time.
Mascot guy has already posted pics of Titans at his gym. Umm they need time off. I don't know if that's completely a good thing.
