Callahan loves loves loves AJ McCarron who was the UFL MVP a year ago and I was so expectant that the Titans would sign him that I thought it was a foregone conclusion.

Idk what happened. He said on a podcast that he retired but now he's said he could still play

That's a change.

I'm not gonna predict it after being wrong last year, but it's all the same. Cally loves him and he knows the system and there are glowing quotes of him in the QB room so...he seems the perfect backup to a young QB to me.

Opening presser with Borgonzi and Brinker-

Super positive about Callahan
Brinker said how he's dramatically improved since last year and Borgonzi said how impressed he was a number of times.

Plan is to evaluate after three years on rookie contracts

Zero contact about extending Chig Hooker etc

Spoke of body changes weight loss for some

Cam love and how he'll probably be there at 5am

They will constantly be watching the WW to improve every position group and have let them team know as well. Mentioned several times that they have a lot of work to do on the roster and will be keeping an eye on the WW.

Brinker made it clear as I said all spring and everyone pretended it was different- Borgonzi controls the roster.

There will be meetings every day with staff to discuss anything whatsoever

The OL was awful during the exhibition practice and there's way too many videos of Cam being chased. Three days into camp but still shorts, they haven't been good.

I desperately need OL positivity when the pads come on

Titans have the making of a very good OL unit this year. Getting the rookie QB, coaching staff, OL and rhythm of the entire offense is going to take time. Probably extends into the first quarter of the season. Will be an interesting year with Ward.

Reactions: Bri
Mullings fumbled again.
3 in 4 days

I think he's done even though Don Shula isn't their coach.
Ya just can't...
He's been walking around with a football today. He said it's his choice just like the fumbles were.
Lol aww I feel for the guy

Great interview with Mullings by a few reporters today. He seems like such a good guy.

I don't see anything with the RBs changing.
Pollard is Pollard and Spears keeps getting praised for a new explosiveness.
Chestnut breaks a run or two with some regularity. I was thinking it's been a bit and then he broke two today.

There's good vibes with Mullings and Mims.
Mullings has to get going with ST. Mims is making plays on ST and then works with the fourth string offense and makes a few plays.

The new ST coach may want two backs. It's been discussed that this is common on a lot of teams. He's not getting Pollard and Spears is made of glass so he isn't getting him at least til he shines for a while. Chestnut is the same dude he's been.
Mims doesn't seem hard nosed built right to knock Chestnut off but he could win the fourth if there is one.
Mullings is supposedly a hard nosed tough back when he wants to be and a real threat to Chestnut- well not if he doesn't play ST and do it well.

For me it's like the fifth thru seventh WR- I'm too old and been fooled for hyped prospects too many times to not realize those guys gotta play ST.

It's early. Mullings has tons of time, but he better get going on ST and be productive too. There are depth LBs and TEs and all sorts that want to get the last spot due to ST play. It won't be gifted but earned

I'm super excited for Jon Robinson to be on 1025 The Game in Nashville today at 10 am.
This was really good.
I'll watch it again if they put it on YouTube.

Still such a nice nice guy.

JRob has been working for an agency to help get coaches, executives, and players prepared for interviews. He's enjoyed feedback when prospects ace an interview like Brock Bowers. He goes thru tape with them and gets them all ready.

He claimed he couldn't speak on a couple issues and I question that.

Every bit of him saying AJB was a collective decision seemed false to me.

His excitement for Henry and KB is still cool to see. I love it when it's just so obvious a coach or GM absolutely adores a player.

Lot of lil nuggets throughout, good interview

Jaelyn Duncan is becoming a story. He's been a crystal clear athlete playing tackle.
His RAS is 9 and to me a bit questionable. I mean you noticed wow this is an OL that's an athlete.
Anywho, he has definitely been one of the worst I've ever seen play. I can remember him going in and being subbed for minutes later because he allowed a few sacks and like "why is this guy even on the team."
He hasn't been on the PS because supposedly there are other teams that want his athleticism. I've been thinking cmon, if he can't play then...ugh.

Sooo this camp everyone keeps mentioning him as being a huge improvement and doing very well. I saw a tweet that he subbed with the ones today. WHAT! Total shock.

He handled the veteran defenders just fine and still had a real good day.

If this holds true (and yes I doubt it) this will possibly be Daddy Callahan's best work even though he already has a great career.

His play at practice today fired up ol Brad Hopkins on the radio. He got caught not talking to watch in disbelief a couple times.

Interviewed after, he's a bit bitter and yep makes sense because all these reporters about said he stunk.

We don't...this doesn't happen for the Titans. I still don't believe it but if he can render BHop silent I definitely have to consider the change.

Daddy Callahan spoke for a few minutes of the issues Dan Moore has that they saw on tape and how he thought they all were coachable.
On the radio, a former OL is saying he still does one of them and gets beat but he doesn't do the rest and he was impressed. Called it a great eye by Bill Callahan and probably a scout.

Brian Callahan and Nick Holz discussed how he and Latham are blocking without help and how that can open up the offense.

Holz explained he's not in the predictable 2 and 3 TE club like Arthur. He wants to send an extra back, an extra WR, maybe two TEs, he wants the defense to sub and be on their toes after every tackle. I kinda disagreed listening like umm I've watched the Jags but I get what he's saying.

The Titans have always been amongst the top group as far as TE usage. Is this more Cincy style?

Every camp there's some presser they're speaking how to adjust the plays to get the ball to some player more often. Surely it's Spears this year. It never happens. They didn't say it this time so I'm at a- well let's see- point.

I think Moore isn't that good so he's gonna have help and this is more dreamy.

I know people here don't much care for my facial reaction and tone tips but they're clearly excited of Latham and thru the moon about Skoronski. Ya can't miss that the positives are still flowing when it gets to Moore but their tone is different and their smile is gone and it's a whole contrast. You're welcome to search any social media for it. It's quite noticable and hmmm.

The Titans have great former OL reporters radio guys so we get excellent reviews from them.

So back to the positives, since Skor finished strong, he's been on many top ten lists and he's listed as a top three player for the Titans. We haven't had a linemen spoken of like that in a long time.

One former scout talked about Latham and Skoronski when they are being beat. They're not falling down and not pushed aside but it's almost a freeze frame moment and you see them with good technique-hands up, shoulders square, feet are good. He said it's a good good sign. They're all in on their coaching and using technique no matter what. He said it's- at this last point- probably the easiest thing to coach as all it is is application. He said it doesn't matter what position or which coach if a guy finishes a play in proper form, he's "this close" to being right

I didn't take it this way but it's a fair point. Radio host has ST coach beginning to angle for a fourth RB and insistence that the WRs (rookies, depth) play ST.
I watched it days ago and ...it's a fair take.

Spears continues to look real good and stir up comments of explosiveness.

Mullings hasn't fumbled and that's in a good rearview spot. He has a good number of supporters.
Chestnut keeps breaking one and has run tougher this year. He has less supporters than Mullings.
Writers seem to think it's one or the other above. I think they keep four.
The ST coach has said he will have one back- at least one- essentially on every play for him. Mullings doesn't even participate in all the ST groups so I lean towards Chestnut. Also it's always been true of every position that ST matters.
Idk that either can make it to the PS. Vrabel rrrreally likes Chestnut and so does Henry. Mullings came in as a tough back several predraft guys liked and I see a lot of teams could use a tough back.

Spears should get work in preseason but it's unclear- with his injury history- how much. I think we'll see play calls for him (some uncomfortable some tailor made) that the coach wants to see him do XYZ. After, he probably comes out.
I wouldn't be surprised if Pollard sits. Pollard is firmly number one and not being knocked off even if Spears runs for 300 yards in a preseason game.
They want to create a useful share. Previously, Callahan spoke of it not being smooth last year and yes it's the same thing he said but it wound up being just for Pollard to catch his breath. They're looking for Spears to show them he can be a compliment to Pollard with reliable production. Callahan has said it would be a disservice to both if Spears was just a third down back so it's not that.

I would bet if Spears does this play and that play well in preseason, he'll get called on to run those week one and longer.

Spears is still kind of suspect against the toughest defenses. He needs to lower his shoulder and finish like backs do. Pollard (and most) will run wide for only three yards and all but he's either out of bounds or giving a hit himself. There's morale, there's injury, and pulling up by a DB that knows it's coming. Spears needs to still be him but just dish is out a little bit. In his brief career he hasn't played all that much against the tough defenses and that needs to stop being a useful FF concept for WDIS

Callahan has been adamant about not fighting during this ten day road trip and I am imagining someone gets cut if so. Maybe not right away but it'll be a major ding against them.

I think this ten day stretch will decide roster spots and the third game will be more for confirmation

Titans Bucs joint practice (only one, game tomorrow) had the Bucs fans much too close.

Couple videos of Titans saying watch it and back off. They're sure to get fined for that or idk the ramification but something will happen. Evans and Baker motioning to them to backup was surely not in the plans.

Brownlee got into it with some fans and is probably gonna get fined.

Titans D without Sweat or Winston on purpose. Unclear if Winston plays tomorrow. Sweat ...they don't play vets with a hangnail in preseason so I don't think so.

Defense stunk and then got it together and stalled a drive. This was the theme for each unit. Baker picked em apart but ended the drive with three incompletions.

Offense was about the same, flat to start and then got it together.

Everyone is blaming coaching not having them ready but older reporters saying if a coach has to have you ready then maybe you don't belong in the league type stuff. Who cares.

Bucs are excellent. Titans are not. Stacking up at any point is good news. All the youth can work that stuff out.

Terrible ST was a theme today and at least one fight broke out.
This better not happen tomorrow. They need to be ordinary on ST as a minimum.
I don't know what heads roll or how they adjust but fumbles and guys knocked on their butts...after setting records for bad ST play last year...oof idk but it better be far better tomorrow

Boyle barely got into team drills again.
There's no backup competition when there are days he only throws one pass.

Allen keeps having real good stats. Rudolph was exceptional last year at like 80% or somesuch so there's perspective.

I want to see him play in preseason. I think he's a nice third stringer not a backup give us hope guy.

Whatever a team or a staff needs to do- it's definitely useful to have an accurate backup. He's probably useful for practice I get that

It's supposed to be hot and humid and then rain early evening before game time.

That may be bad news for us evaluating and they just sit guys to not risk injury on a wet field. 30% chance of rain during the game time.

I hope it somehow misses the stadium. The league went to three games and I wondered how tough that was for the depth guys to get noticed. Now if ya think that there is (maybe) only two games go be evaluated that's even less.

Excited for the game against Bucs! Where are you all watching/streaming from? I can’t find anything at the moment.
I use preseason to try things tech wise TV wise. I'll try every app probably.
I even get snack ideas and fast meal ideas that I'll make a note of.
It's like my own getting setup for the season. One year I bought a recliner 🙃
