Titans 2025 (1 Viewer)

I don't like the reactions to "Cam Ward (insert word) Titans to sign his college WR"

I wanted him drafted. He was a common name all spring.
Idk Miami's history but I do recall when they were the U and sent many to the NFL so if some kid is setting a record, I wanna see that kid in camp.

Record breaker at USC, Michigan, OSU...I don't care. If it's a prominent program, I'm sold.

Idk why he went undrafted. I am totally ok to have a new QB ask if they can sign his buddy.

With Lockett and Ridley, Restrepo will know his place on day one.

Quincy Riley pick is getting a lot of love from Saints fans.
Titans should have been quieter about wanting Brownlee's former teammate.

The masses don't seem to have accepted the Titans steal of the draft last year, still, but the NFL sure has.
I was feeling bad for Riley listening to the radio like you need to give this kid his day, enough about Brownlee

If Callahan says Lockett and the rookie WRs have to beat out Oliver and then I don't post tomorrow, please know my head exploded

Colton Dowell should be ready for camp and I was half expecting his release.

Reminder- he blew everyone away by having a better pro day than Hyatt and Tillman- on their home field.

He looked like a raw rookie-athleticism but so raw. Improved pretty quickly but tore his ACL.

He's like 28 now and was a late bloomer.

His 1 in 100 chance of making the team is stronger with some camp time and knowledge of the game and offense. 1 in 50 now?

It's nice to hear he's doing well. I don't have much hope

Idk why he went undrafted.
He ran very slow at the combine b/c he hurt his hammy but decided to run anyways which is either dumb/noble depending on who you ask but this might have worked out for us. Some old mocks had him going in the 4th/5th . So we got a 4th/5th round talent without burning a pick. Sounds good to me.

Thanks. I did see the 4.8 after I posted.
Some discussion about this in his thread too.

It seems kinda dumb. If Tyreek runs a 40 with a rock in his shoe and runs a 4.8 would we have said he's slow? We've seen Restrepo on Saturdays so why was it so easy to accept he's slow? It's very odd to me.

Tape speed is fine. That's enough thought imo

Idk why he went undrafted.

He plummeted after he ran a 4.8 forty.

Though Field Yates made him a UDFA bonus entry in his article of five picks he loved from each round.
Yeah but you've seen the guy on TV how many times? Welp your eyes deceived you and now he's slow?
It's not logical how people reacted so overboard to it

Lots of well done rookie articles at the team site.

Also, Mina has a video interview where they discuss no #1 WR in TEN but Cam is a point guard so does it matter?
I think it does.
I think Ridley sometimes not running the right route and not giving best effort to grab a ball sometimes is a big deal. I'm hoping Lockett and the staff coach that out of him. Only rookies and only early do I ever want to hear that not in sync ran wrong route stuff.

Restrepo and Oliver and Whyle seem to be the only my ball guys. Ward's going to need a safety valve and they aren't likely starting, right?
Lockett's got it sometimes. He's fired up to be a Titan after growing up a Vince Young fan. That's nice to hear. We don't exactly have excited to join the team pressers unless they're rookies. If that fire and excitement for Ward...if the Titans can get an extra effort from him that could be a considerable thing.

There were probably 20+ third downs last year where the defense kept them in a spot to at least comeback and ...nothing. QB didn't matter. They need to value "chips are down" players this camp. IDC if Jahquan is a starter because of it or if he's coming in every third down or whatever but there must be some significance given to who is going to finish their route and "die trying" to make a play.

I hope Delanie is not on TV coaching in some other camp. Someone was dopey in not bringing him back. The year before, I liked the highlights and could tell what he's coaching. I want him. I want every retired gem to be allowed to come back and work in the summer with the players. I am 💯 all for cutting Chig if he doesn't get it this year. I still think play alot of pickup basketball and put him in the post. If he can't keep defenders on his back and alligator arms balls and doesn't block well- cut him or move him to WR. Patience is gone. This is a problem during panic time for a QB and it's not often discussed. A few times during the game broadcasts but it was every week. He's a gazelle of an athlete, but doesn't seem to recognize he's got a dirty job to do. It doesn't really matter so much if he's one of the fastest or more athletic TEs if he won't do the dirty work.
Whyle looks like such a great student and yes coach guy. Zero concern he'll learn but is he worth the opportunity?
The rookie seems built right. We're not worrying these things with him. He doesn't seem to be as athletic as these former WRs are but maybe Pitts and so many got us down a bad path. Maybe at TE we should value the tough guys and not the "my goodness look at him run" types.

I like listening to Cam.
He seems so personable. That he answered a Q about success with discussing tough times he had growing up made me ❤️.
He's confident but it's well placed.

He was asked about getting together with WRs to throw on his own time during the off-season. He said he already discussed it and told them Cristobal (I think) used to say studying is most important so he told them they might be getting together to study instead. He would. He will meet up but...OMG I absolutely loved that.

A lot of expected stuff.
I'm not Jayden is something he may have to say too often but at least he is. Shush on this topic.

TheZone people invited him to learn this n that about Nashville and he intends to take them up on it. If you listen to their show that means BBQ places and antique finds and classic stores and basketball games. Good! Young kids can get into trouble. You go do that and have fun, meet the fans etc. I'm so happy he hit it off with them. They're good people and .... probably overreacting to this but we've had rookies get into some trouble so ...

I really like the kid.

Callahan looks at him like a proud dad at his son. He didn't do that with Levis. Any dad knows that's a big deal.

I think I'm onto my next love. McNair, Mariota
..it's time. This could be the real deal

Who cares? it worked out well for us and that's all that matters to me.
I don't watch enough college ball.
It's too simple. It's too dopey.
There's gotta be another hangup with this kid and I wish I knew what it was. That's what I'm driving at.
GregR is wonderful. It ain't about him.

NFL teams are not just blowing off the guy that bested Michael Irvin and Santana Moss because he pulled a hammy and had a 4.8 time.

I think there's a genuine knock on this kid and I want to know what it is.
Maybe Cosell will bring it up. I missed his recap of the Titans draft.

The reason why is because that'll be what I look for all summer. Suppose he can't handle contact at the LOS like young Corey Davis. Then I'm looking for that and people need to ask the WR coach about it. If they coach him through it, then yes, we've got a steal.

Miami is too big a school and he's too well known. Something is off with how it's presented. I just want to know is all

Other than Ridley starting. I don't have confidence in anyone for FF yet.

Titans slots have been atrocious for FF and Callahan was to improve that with his Cincy offense but how did Boyd do?
I have always been a fan of Lockett but WRs go to Nashville to retire.

The Titans will sell that the slot is a good role but there are sooo many years of this being fools gold.

If Lockett is outside, he's good for FF. If slot, ouch.

Van Blockerson will probably sub on clear rushing downs and not do much else for FF.

The rookies have a perfect depth standard to beat out in Bryce Oliver. Hustle, ST, big effort, and get the darn ball.

Every team wants to set this standard before camp and there's a 100k reasons Callahan was shining when he praised Oliver. What if he wasn't? I'm very doubtful. I think it was to present a scenario that the rookies must beat out. It's a classic camp coach description too.

Jahquan Jackson had a great camp and then was in the doghouse for fumbling punts. He's no chump to beat out either. While Callahan has apologized and says Jahquan will get opportunities, I have doubts.

The problem with the rookies and projections is everyone had a place when they signed Jefferson and Lockett. I know the WRs have been weak and whatnot but it is still exactly as any team would want it to be.

4th and 5th gotta work hard, block, and do well on ST. So many of us have been wrong with projections when we glossed over this.

I think it'll take til week two of camp til a rookie doing well starts to matter.

Ya know what's gonna happen after they make a play? They'll call a series of run plays and it won't always be reported if they were a chump when it came time to block. Here's a highlight catch by a rookie...who also got pushed out of bounds and irrelevant as a ST gunner.

I'll take a chance on anyone super late in dynasty but I'm leery of Titans rookie WRs

Warren Moon wasn't just talking to talk. He's trying to work something out with the Titans and has a meeting with Callahan to discuss Cam Ward.

Apparently he sincerely wants to help but respectfully doesn't want to step on toes.

Vrabel killed alumni days some and the army stuff.
I am 💯 all for any military boys want to go workout with them and any military want to address the team.
Any former player want to teach them a thing or two or just chat about the myriad of things that goes on in an NFL player's life.

Delanie is interested.
Marc Mariani is interested.
Keep it coming! The more the merrier.

Great reports of working with Cam.
The kid is like reading my mind I swear...

How many times did Levis throw or the WRs run the wrong route?

Ward told the WRs he'll be on time every time and if they're late they're late.
He barked and made WRs do routes again then gave em attaboys.

*****
I don't care about anything Ridley or Burks, in the future, has to say about this- just get there and catch the ball. Let your play talk for you

Rookie TE Gunnar made some nice grabs in drills that caught the attention of reporters. Some saying it was like you could see the rapport build with Ward

Learning the custodian's name!

♥️

The Broncos tough defense is a fine week one matchup.

Let's not instill that the Titans are expected to have great results this year and all this hope.

The Titans have an incredibly underrated defense. Some teams will underestimate them and the game could be close and they steal some wins OR they'll keep the games close and get a few this season.

They don't have a WR they rely upon that Surtain is going to dramatically impact that but the rookie gets his first lesson of "don't throw over there much."

Moore being the starting LT is still mocked by some. We're gonna get an idea if he's a bust free agent right away.

I'm just expecting tests and lessons until they show they're not the worst team in football.

There hasn't been much of anything to note. I'm doing my best to not waste people's time. I think I've put garbage minicamp stuff up here in prior years.
There's a great former Titans forum for the players, offering advice video on the Titans site.

A lot of praise for rookies standing out.
Ward I've shared a bunch already.
Femi's motor seems to be undeniably awesome. OK it's shorts and...I think we can glean that from shorts. When the break, tough on all the others to try and outwork him.

The praise for Oliver continues. He has been running with the ones.

There have been a lot of scouting personnel dept moves that are pretty normal following a new GM and his first draft.

There have been 5-6 WW moves- mostly for LBs that play ST and may pan out with more time on defense. I think they all were "awarded" meaning other teams put bids in for them.

There are four UDFA CBs that all appear to be "players" and there's something to it as they all have gotten some love in quick Google draft reviews. Shorts shorts don't overreact to practices in shorts....I hope whoever in personnel is doing so well with CBs was not replaced.

Bertha is an OL sled that Daddy Callahan invented. Supposedly ya can't move it if you use bad technique and bad leverage. I've previously barked about it but a lot a lot of former OL that how review linemen absolutely praise the training apparatus.
So one day we got a lot of highlights and "what can ya tell about guys in shorts" aside, the OL and DL did exactly as well as you'd predict.
Latham I mistook for a DL. They're dominant and beasts with that and it was so impressive.

Why are they moving him to RT if he was (and did) to take his lumps as a LT and be all set in year two?

Guess how Moore did? Yeah that bad

What I didn't notice was coaching.
Idk what the procedure is here- suffer and learn to believe in technique to succeed? Ok then fine but otherwise I thought the coaches coaching was curiously absent.

Lastly, Ben Jones has been spending time with the Patriots. 3 visits already and many zoom calls with their rookie C. I get a traitor vibe reading about it but fun way not Benedict Arnold serious. Cmon work with Cush's replacement!

O/U on wins is 3,4,5
I'm not an avid gambler nor proponent. I don't expect them to do all that well.
I gotta say this seems like a fine bet to take the over if you can get 3 or 4.

One of the interesting things is- think on it. Does five give you pause? Yeah oof it's gonna be a rough year.

Very simple way of smashing some reality at the hope Ward and the rookies bring
