Titans 2025 (2 Viewers)

Hunter wanted to wait til he had enough time to sit down with the Titans and not feel rushed.
He asked "them"(Borgonzi? Callahan?) to go fishing.

That's so oddly comfortable and mature and I like it.

ESPN opinion article with their main football writers offering different takes....one "head scratcher" is the Titans signing T Moore to a 20 mil per contract. Reason given is how he's struggled in pass protection.

Bri is ours, guy.
Big shoutout to Brian for keeping the Titans spirit alive on here! His posts are always full of passion and insight. I'd kindly ask more Titans fans to jump in and make this forum as lively as your love for the Titans. Brian needs more support and shouldn't be the only one carrying the torch for your team!

As Sheduer does not participate in things, more intangibles and familial stuff comes out.

I think it's kind of weak to present it now but "considers Tom Brady a mentor and works out with him" has been there the whole time and I gotta say it is appealing. He's clearly best ever and...can't deny it.

I don't know what the Titans want for the first but you can't tell me the Raiders wouldn't give up a good amount for Sheduer.

One of the more shocking story lines last year for me was Jaylen Harrell with zero sacks.
He dominated camp and had so many sacks. He went from third string up to first and continued to sack the QB. He showed great learning ability by working on different moves and applying them right away too.

It very much seems like it could possibly be because he went against the plethora of bad tackles the Titans had. I mentioned this. It was brought up on the radio a few times.

To me this is very much like some of the other coaching issues. How can it happen? How so with Daddy Callahan on staff? Son is the fool here, no doubt, but Dad is there for wisdom and Harrell is beating his guys. Something here is "y'all need to get on the same page."

Now what though?
How good is he?
He's 22. He had some pressures and a few were wow enough. He was burned by a "broken ankle" move in pass D and recovered, like woah look at those feet. Guy got up, turned, and took off w speed. Much of the season was announcers mentioning the team had high hopes and fizzled out but then he'd make a play here or there and...now what?

I've mentioned Jackson, DMR, and Oliver before.
Harrell did play a good amount. He's not like them not getting opportunity. The disconnect about everything is too great.

I have my concerns about Callahan's staff's ability to incorporate rookies. Sweat seems like I could say "go get em" so I don't give much credit there. Brownlee is so feisty and played his game and Chris Harris was shown teaching and...well he's moved on.

The Titans need a zillion rookies in the draft and UDFAs and they have to contribute on a bad team so I think this is the biggest issue they're facing. However they developed rookies, the new staff has to change some. I'd expect 10-15 rookie and second year players to play a good amount so...I really hope there's been a lot of discussion about changing ways.

Radio hosts had Chig being traded to KC and they have a backup TE they like so I don't see it, but I do agree wholeheartedly with the logic. He is not changing and seeing a future HOFer tell him to box out, keep defenders on his back, and how important his blocks are...maybe that is what the kid needs.

He's got some Pitts-light to him. Yeah there's all this ability but if ya don't do things "this way" then Its wasted talent and not being in on certain plays makes sense.

I don't like this nice guy stuff though. It happened under Ran and seems to be continuing. Fine with a legend like Nuk but otherwise stop. Make a trade. Get what ya can. Awuzie, Landry, and...stop telling me you think it's best for them. If if if it's good for the player- fine- but trades are about the return value and they're nowhere near good enough to be so nice

Cam Ward's pro day was attended by many from the Titans front office. Pres Brinker attending is a big show at least.

Lots of predictable positive quotes.

New GM Borgonzi has often stated he's not rushing the process. Still waiting on the in person visits/workouts.

The other teams attending has been reported too. There is definitely some showmanship to it that one can only guess on.

During COVID, pro days were live streamed. I know the Sooners and OK State still do. I can't imagine this going away in modern day. This also throws a monkey wrench at reading tea leaves as to who attended because we don't know who was watching. Also maybe they recorded it and broke that down too.

Gotta be real careful to not overstate pro days

Callahan's offense is just the tonic to unlock Tim Boyle's full potential.

Actually love Callahan as a Bengals fan. I just have a ton of respect for Tim Boyle and his agent for being able to continually secure the bag.

First thing in morning, radio hosts discussing a reply to one of Schefter's tweets- CFL teams have better QB rooms than the Titans.

That's brutal and ....true

Titans ditching the tradition of Oilers throwbacks each year but yet changing their uniform color to Titan Blue aka Luv Ya Blue aka Oilers Blue

Closer to the draft-
Very much still stuck as I was originally:

Again talk to Bengals about a deal for Browning.
Offer a hotdog for Adrian Martinez.

Above can dictate whether to keep mayo boy.

Whichever of Hunter, Carter, or Jeanty. Gimme a ten year lock.

It should be very doable to trade down and get one of the three.
Pick to acquire Browning...second? Little rich but whatever. An acquired second? Way more comfy with this or two thirds or a third and player. The suggested "A third and Tyjae' is fine by me.

If it all collapses-
Fine then. Callahan got his boy and coach and QB are no good so then fine.
They can draft Manning and promote the impressive DC or hire Eddie or whatever.

A lot of flexibility to net above. Just do it.

*******

What I don't want is-
Shedeur or Ward stinking and we have to ask the Browns for advice on when to draft yet another high pick QB in 2026.

If everyone in the free world was right all of 2024 and those two are mid first to second round QBs then don't draft one of them with the first pick.
None of the Titans staff and maybe 15 percent of the players will be there in three years if they take that long to develop.

********
The risk is way too high for my taste.
If they love Shedeur or Ward then fine but I've got an "I told ya so" in the chamber

Titans 2024 defense has gone from being called one of the best (yards allowed, second, first most of the year) to one of the worst due to second in points allowed.

No games have been played this offseason to change this.
Just interesting when reporters change their stance on a team's defense that dramatically

jwyattsports
"I don't think people have enough respect for what Brandon Allen is. I think Brandon is a good quarterback."

I question his QB guru-ness now

Brinker says no one has inquired about Levis and they haven't offered him in trade. Previous was false report.

Also-
"For us heading into this camp, we at least want three quarterbacks, preferably four if we can," Brinker said. "Depending on what we do in this draft, if we go quarterback (we'd have four), or we go another position, at least we'd have three quarterbacks. If we don't draft one, maybe we could look for a fourth (after) and then we'd have four quarterbacks going into the preseason."

Team president not going to Colorado pro day is apparently indicative that they'll draft Ward over Shedeur but has no bearing on if Hunter will go #1. 😵‍💫

Team presidents don't generally go to pro days or make draft decisions.
I was intrigued by the storyline but now I'm on the other end and this is all a non story

Treylon Burks may not be ready/healthy for week one.

Treylon Burks is on our wire in dynasty. As a free agent. After a few short years of having gone in the first round of our draft. Bupkis. Nothing. Nobody wants him at all. He's not even getting bid on, and we've bid on the guys we really wanted already.

What a waste of a pick for the Titans.

"The Titans re-signed veteran center Corey Levin earlier this offseason. Callahan expressed confidence in him to begin the season at center if Cushenberry isn’t ready. Levin played 133 snaps for the Titans throughout 2024."

With new Cush may not be ready for camp, Callahan sort of extended it to he may not be ready by week one.
Brunskill started at C over Levin so umm no you don't have confidence in him as you say.

This is a big partial? loss for the young line and probably means they're drafting a C since they're an especially opportunistic group in the draft. 1-5 usually get drafted so teams can easily add a top C whenever they want. Kind of like a FB.

Now the Titans may draft Ward or may trade down. It could also be Shedeur if his private workout goes well.
Rumor mills and reading into reports haven't really changed all off-season. Just how people react/opine on the same sentiment.

Callahan and OC aren't going to Sheduer's pro day and other teams expected to draft him are doing similar.
There is how many days left and the rumor is that the kid that didn't participate in other things may or may not do all everyone expects at his pro day. I think waiting til the private workout is a proper response. Ya can't waste a day traveling at this point and it can't be possible that that happens.

Titans will have Borgonzi and DC and WR coach there which does read like for Hunter.

When Lebeau was DC he went to only some pro days and workouts. One year, he attended a QB one and one other offensive because Mularkey said he felt the system was off, or somesuch, that the DCs that break down a QB aren't invited on QB evaluation trips. Back then I was OMG yeah why do teams do that?
The Titans have kept this going ever since. While the fans and media are focused on OC, HC, and GM, don't miss that the DC will be watching Shedeur.

The Center talk has continued and I think it will stick around.
One thing veterans say but writers often miss is every young QB should have a veteran C to help read the D and setup blocking assignments.

I don't have confidence in Levin because the Titans didn't in 2024. If they re-sign free agent Brunskill well then I'll believe that. He started.

I think they'll draft a C and re-sign Brunskill. He was like 2-3 mil and ya can't fill a need so easily on an OL for 2-3 mil so just get him back

Diana Russini seeming to emphasize in spots that there isn't conviction in Titans org yet about the 1 pick.

A lot of people that do not speak to team officials claim otherwise and every vibe I get is Diana is spot on

More Bryce Oliver Love from owners meetings-

"Really excited about Bryce's potential," Callahan told Titans reporters during league ownership meetings. "He did some really nice things as the season went along. He's big, strong, and fast. I'm excited about what he could bring [to the offense]. He has to have a good offseason and take that next step."

It doesn't explain why he didn't play more.
(Mentioned him many times prior)
It's odd. This positivity is...there's gotta be as many off-season quotes on him as all but maybe the gem rookie WRs.

He has to be an automatic dynasty deep bench add if your league allows moves in April. Ya can't just ignore the potential gain from the WW. Gotta do it.
Odd or not, as long as coach keeps talking (and the GM that wasn't even there!) just get him in dynasty.

Chad Brinker did go to Colorado pro day.
Many pictures of him chatting with other teams' officials.
It definitely gives a trade down vibe which is Im sure what's expected but ummm he's not the GM and people are forgetting they misunderstood the triumvirate.

No one cares 🙃
The Titans have tried so hard to get the media and fans interested in their unique system and it seems only NFL types care about it.

So here is recently fired Titans GM interviewing Shedeur at his pro day.

I need more info to form a better guess.

I would assume some animosity between Ran and his replacement and the people that fired him.

Will post in Shedeur thread

Ward has to have them with the feel they can be .500 this year.
Can make bad decisions but not Levis level bad.
Show some learning after the bad plays.
There has to be some plays during which he shows some specialness since he's the first pick.

The Titans have to get a C. Can be 7th round. Easy to do. I've been told the sparse NFL additions have led to some fine C in the UFL so...just get one.
The Titans probably need to add a T as there's great concern of their LT addition that hasn't gone away and they're one injury from being bad on the corner.
He needs a TE he can trust and build a rapport with. Cindy's offense so limited productivity but the rookie needs a panic guy.
I still expect Chig to be traded.

Bryce Oliver odd praise aside, need another WR.
I still think a hard nosed runner to compliment Pollard or actually give the ball to Chestnut.
They need an edge that actually produces and isn't just potential but they don't need much on D. It could be an offensive draft and no one would mind.

Callahan is in a terrible spot. Worst team season followed by rookie QB. If he can generate a decent season though, he could lock himself in.

"this close" to being locked in
Report saying Titans will likely trade down.
Must be as as genuine as a rumor can be.
National people "appearing" on Nashville radio later this morning.

I heard "it's possible they trade down" and after intently tuning in, I was like yeah and water is wet.
Very much ugh
I'll be preoccupied and can't listen to the rest this morning, I don't think.

Jordan Palmer complimented Levis' work ethic and how he's improved his game during their work this offseason.

I'm holding the compliment on pause because it's lying season, his friend is the coach, and Levis may be traded.

I do think, regardless of anything, working with a QB coach is a good thing and good for him.

All over they're calling this one of the worst trades ever. Sneed was an injured top CB they gave up a third for. The injury wasn't healing right. Titans thought their docs could handle it.
He went thru camp and took some time off but was starting opening day and until week five. Eventually they'd try another procedure and apparently it's working and he will be ok this coming season.
He allowed 13 of 24 completions 4,2,2,1,4 completions.
He allowed 41, 35, 42, 17, and 42 yards.
PFF gave him an awful grade which I've long argued is one of theirs that is way off.

That is exactly what you want from a top CB. Half the passes not completed. QBs hesitant to even throw his way. Never more than 50 yards.

I don't at all think this was a worst ever trade.

If he replicates that for a season in 2025, very good trade. If he has some down games, misses a couple weeks, rest of the games like above- that would be a good trade still.

As of now- ok fine, ya only got five games out of him but it only cost a third because the injury was known. It's leaning towards not good some, but the risk was accounted for. Top CBs should go for at least a first.

I think wayyy different than the masses on this one

Jeffrey Simmons trade rumors are ramping up before the draft only issue is- the Titans, Titans beat reporters, and national reporters continue to say it's not happening.

Very untrue rumor-y but oof it is super common.

I don't want to lose him and think it's a terrible idea but I would see if Vrabel will give up some absurd haul for one of his favorite players ever
