What do you think of the Olines progression in year two of senior Callahan. Been a massive fan of his and it felt like at his last stop things really started clicking in year two.
For fantasy I’m targeting Ten RBs if they’re available at value. Also wondering if this is a Chubb landing spot due to the familiarity with each other
Love your work
Thank you
Daddy Callahan didn't do a good job last year in the simple sense that they had arguably the worst line in football and he's supposed to advise his son who had the worst team in football. Ya can't sugarcoat "the worst" at all.
Year two progress would be great and oh so welcome. The Titans have had excellent lines under Munchak and he's a true HOF coach and played. Since, they've had some very good years but really stunk more often.
Moore at T is supposedly fixable with common mistakes. The tackle market was awful this offseason and he was one of the best options but there's some likelihood he's not good. His sacks allowed and Steeler fans comments do not make me confident. This is where Daddy Callahan has to- must- make a big impact and fix him.
Skoronski looks legit to me. His results haven't been favorable for a full season but the OL gurus show highlights and they all see it. The last four games he was PFFs top rated G in the NFL so maybe things clicked and he'll be the gem they drafted.
Cush is hurt and a probable late start at C and that's enormous with a rookie QB. They have longtime backup Levin that has started but he did not get put in as Cush's replacement last year and that gives me big pause. Why have a backup C and not play him? Other coaches did so why didn't Callahan? I'd expect Cush by week four and a camp battle by the backups.
Their free agent RG is well respected and finally got a piece.
Latham was a very pretty rookie LT that allowed a ton of sacks like his predecessors. Very much like Skoronski, the OL gurus point out how much he does right and his hips and feet and...it was expected he'd be good year two. Welp they're moving him to his college position of RT and yet spent last year saying how he was a left. All in all I guess I don't care but this also is a ding on Callahan if his position was wrong.
Skoronski and Latham were bad value picks but great talents so can't go back in time, make the best of it scenario.
The line is a very big question mark. Some of their castoffs have already been cut elsewhere and it isn't even cut down day.
Chubbs would be wonderful if he was younger but I'm afraid he's had his day and his career is over.
The Titans lack two essential pieces on offense- a target that's reliable on third down and a RB that is reliable to get that third and one tough run.
There is a major confidence difference between (this guy) can catch a first and Kupp will make a play. This guy can run for a tough first and Henry will smash and get it done.
Coaches and GMs sell this "can" and people eat it up but the NFL world needs predictability in those instances. I think these are two areas that could really help the morale including the OL.
Chestnut looks like Henry light in preseason for years now and has run with the ones. Vrabel had plans for him. Callahan put him in the doghouse. They need to decide now on Chestnut and if there's reservations about playing him then go get a bulldozer type. The RB market is awful for them but plentiful for teams- use it and add a back or two; have them smash into Sweat and Big Jeff and see who is the keeper. I have such little expectations for whoever they get. The guy can play five snaps per game but make sure he's a brute.
Pollard is not a rookie. We have whatever we saw with the Cowboys and whatever we read from their fans. It was very common to hear he's not Zeke. He's a very good player, he's going to get his yards. He's got a style we all enjoy watching but sometimes this sport is simple and it's just mano y mano toughness and they need a Rhino and are putting in a pretty running gazelle.
The Boys curiously added a couple thumpers after Pollard including Zeke. One of my favorite college players in Leupke and don't really give him the ball and he's supposedly on the chopping block. If if if there isn't a traditional back they like then I'll take Alstott light. What's it do to the OL when a FB is about to pretend he's Bam Morris? What if he gets the first?
See I'm pretty adamant that they add this. Ya don't generally add players for confidence as it's not a tangible thing and pros should be pros but we're talking s cheap player filling a role that's not filled so it won't impact team makeup or the cap.
As for Chubbs again, bring him in and see what he's got. Obviously I'm a huge fan and the need is there, I'm just expectant that it's over for him
