**TNF on Prime - Broncos 9-5 at Chargers 8-6** (-2.5, 41.5) 8:15 (1 Viewer)

Already some embarrassing officiating, basically gave Denver a TD
Because of one call?
Would have been 4th and 3 and a likely FG attempt otherwise.
People really complaining about the helmet to helmet? The initial contact was 100% helmet on helmet. Idk, seems odd to complain about it.
Even the on air official said that’s not a penalty
It would have been 2nd and 2 without that penalty.
You made me back up and check. It was 1st and 15.

Great out route by Vele there. He's been a real nice find.
How good is Bo Nix?
I was skeptical like many, didn't give him a lot of credit for their early success and getting out there as a Playoff team in '24
Yet Denver is here already

How many franchise QBs can there possibly be in 1 Draft?

I'm not ready to call Nix a franchise QB yet. He looks solid, but the Broncos turnaround has been mostly about their defense going from 30th to 1st.

Right now, Daniels is the only rookie QB, I'm calling a Franchise guy.

I drafted Courtland Sutton as the WR 39, my 3rd WR. Dropped him mid October after a 0 target game in a win. Bad move.

Absolutely hate jumbo sets. Just don't see the point, you close lanes up, and basically telegraph your play. You'll have more success running the same run play but having Johnston and McConkey out there to at least make the defense worry about a pass. I think Harbaugh is doing a very good job fixing a team that had fallen apart under Staley, but he does still do things like that more than I'd like to see.

I was skeptical of Nix but he looks like the real deal to me.

Franchise QBs are often paired with franchise o-coordinators or franchise head coaches. Nix is doing better than Wilson. OTOH, we thought Mac Jones was a franchise QB. Nix has wheels, I think he and Payton will do well in 2025, the trajectory is up. I'd rate him higher than Caleb.

Denver gets away with an ineligible man down the field on the TD
The Booth says so, The fake Ref says so, Harbaugh said it was bogus

The replay sure looks like #77 was almost running into the end zone when Nix finally released the football

The illegal man down field rule is so dumb but they clearly committed it there. Surprised they picked it up.

I think that's got some truth to it but is also tricky. I'd rather have Caleb than Nix in a vacuum, but I'd also MUCH rather have Payton than the Eberflus/Waldon/Brown poopshow. Nix went to the best situation in my opinion.

There is a part of me that thinks JJ McCarthy could be the 2nd best QB from this draft, simply based on O'Connell and JJ/Hock/Addison.

5:00 left, can Denver add to their already impressive lead?
They also get the ball 1st in the 2nd Half
Up 21-10, can they go score-Half-score?

It’s a weird hypothetical thinking about what would be happening with McCarthy if he didn’t get injured.

With the Vikings trajectory with Darnold, I doubt he’d be starting at this point.

Of course, he wasn't supposed to start this year at all anyway.

Not to get in too deep a rabbit hole, but I wonder if Darnold is playing at the level he has, if he's been looking over his shoulder this whole time.

Big drive here for LA. Can't go 3 and out but also need to make this a 1 score game.

ETA: Feels like McConkey time.

With the way every rule is geared to help the offense these days, I’m not sure why ineligible man downfield is still a penalty

What’s the logic behind making it illegal? Just let O Lineman run wherever they want, they still couldn’t block a pass defender before the ball is thrown or it would be offensive pass interference

There was a ton of chatter that McCarthy would likely come in after 6-7 games. But that was under the assumption that the Vikings and Darnold wouldn’t be very good.

And nothing but chatter without knowing anything so doesn’t mean much.

But there was expectations that he’d likely take over this year… and I think Darnold one year deal backs that up as evidence.
