To those who cannot stand Michael Irvin (2 Viewers)

As an Eagles fan I did not cheer when Irvin's career ended at the Vet, but I never cared for the guy as a player (beat the Eagles too much) and he has shown to be a repeat drug offender. Worse yet is the fact that he is the worst commentator on ESPN to listen to and I really think from listening to the dribble that falls out of his mouth that he is stupid. ESPN should fire him immediately and if he's lucky maybe he can reel TO into joining him for a few hits from the bong the way he reeled him in during the interview that finally got TO canned. It seems like they both will have a little free time.
:goodposting:
LOL at all the Eagle fans hating on Irvin.
Yeah really, the poor guy. :sarcasm:

Another screw up from a guy from the "U". :P But really, this is rediculous. I agree evryone deserves a second chance, but he has had his share of chances. They need to give him the maximum sentence for being a repeat offender. He got off easy the last time and apparently it did not work. There are plenty of other capable people that can replace him. :yucky: :yucky:

Yup, give him the maximum sentence for drug paraphenalia. $500 fine? :sarcasm:

I'm sure Irvin has plenty of aches and pains from his playing days. Maybe he was using marijuana for medicinal purposes?

Why all the love for Irvin? He is a prominent figure in football that has been in trouble for drugs not just one time, but before. He is not a role model, he is a bad person. I could care less what happens to him but if you wanna talk about Karma, it looks like Karma hit Irvin, not me. I always thought this way about Irvin. I'm done with this topic... I will just leave with this. for the police officer serving the community who busted the IDIOT michael irvin!
was he wearing a TO jersey when arrested?
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
Watch what you say about Irvin on here... he is a fan-favorite!

Now we know why he acts like such a fool and backs guys like TO. ESPN just got a break as I would guess they were down on his overall on air performance. I say he gets suspended and then let go...thoughts? I never liked the guy off the field.

Do you have a source that supports this claim? Thanks ahead of time.

Couldn't have happened to a more deserving guy...not only is he the worst NFL analyst on ESPN, he's also a guy who was all about success on the field DESPITE being a bad person (with bad habits) off it. Berman disclosed the arrest at SNF halftime, I'm guessing Irvin will be relieved of his duties or, at the very least, not have his contract renewed after this season.

Irvin is a horrible commentator, he is obnoxious on the air, and he is a convicted criminal off the air. I never understood why ESPN brought him on. I've always said someone needs to tell Irvin "Just because you say it louder doesn't make your opinion better / more aplicable than someone elses." He is brutal and obnoxious, and I am hopeful that we no longer have to see him on Sundays.

I dont care what anybody else says, this is :goodposting:

What is this Iran? It's unreal how quick people are to toss stones. Bunch of effing hypocrites.
Right, cause I'm sure none of us have expressed these views before. It isn't like a bunch of the Super Bowl team were thugs - oh wait, what about: Erik Williams, Leon Lett, Nate Newton, Michael Irvin....The guy is a dug addict. And on TV he happens to be annoying and lacks any meaningful insights. During the Thanksgiving Day pre-game, he commented on a team's prospects (sorry, can't remember the team) by saying "I really like this WR, so I'm picking his team to win". Unless that WR is Jerry Rice in his prime, that's just a stupid statement.

As an Eagles fan... good. Shows the character of an ##### like this. Once a druggy, always a druggy. Its a damn shame too... once a role model, now an idiot.
I had a nice rebuttal for this all typed up but was in fear of a banning. All I can say is wow, what an ### you are to celebrate someone else's problems. I really don't care for Irvin as well but would hate to think that I would take satisfaction in someone's misfortune like you are. You say once a druggy always a druggy, I say once an ### always an ###. Good luck with that Karma.
I'm a pot smoker. That said, getting caught with paraphenalia is not "misfortune" it is a choice
Thumbs up to the implied sexual pervert..."Cunning Linguist"... :D ;) ...for this is about the only logical post that I have come across in this thread.Bottom line..."you reap what you sow", but I will never judge another on the BIG issues...that spot is reserved for someone greater than myself.

However, I do feel that I can say that Irvin is not my favorite analyst...no biggie...get good help Michael.

Yes I do. Common sense is the source. I did not say anything about a source, I said its my guess on things if you read what I said? I mean all that hand waving yelling foolishly on air stuff just looks silly especially when he is wrong more often than not.

You guys do know that paraphenalia (sp?) doesn't mean he was caught with any drugs right? It was probably a pipe, but definitely not actual drugs. Still no excuse, but a little less serious.Just thought I'd post that because it seems some people in here seem confused.

Tom Jackson is privately (or maybe not so privately) grinning :D from ear to ear right now. TJ had the hardest time stifling his absolute despise for everything Irvin stands for on the shows they do together.Mike Irvin is a [jerk], a terrible analyst and he just pissed away a great job.

You made a statement that suggested something was said or talked about from ESPN. Common sense does not apply to the real world. Irvin I am sure somehow, some way brings ratings to the table or else they would of cut him before they brought him. Controversy sells. Maybe you are not educated correctly... I will re-word it to how you should of said it...

"If I was at ESPN, I would be down on his overall on air performance." You made the comment like it was taken from ESPN theirselves and all I did was ask for a source, if you do not like what I say... hit the ignore button. Have a GREAAAAAAT Night! :D

Definitely a HONDA on my part...hence the merge with this initial thread.Either way, I stand by my view that this couldn't have happened to a better [or worse as the case may be] person.Hopefully this will put an end to Irvin's far too extensive run on ESPN media outlets.

And what is that used for????????.........DRUGS!!!! Personally I could give a rats ### if he was smoking pot, but I will be glad to see his lame ### gone from ESPN. He made the choice, and now he deserves the repercussions from it.

I started smoking again so I definitely will not be judgin Mr Irvin on this issue about drugs...however if I had as much at stake as he does...oh nevermind.

At this point do we know what kind of "drug pipe" we're talking about? I would think there would be quite a large difference in the court of public opinion between a marijuana pipe and a crack pipe.

LOL @ all the Irvin haters. You chumps all have egg on your face big time. Irvin says the pipe belongs to a friend of his. Case closed.

Irvin just gives another point of view and opinion. What's wrong with that?If you don't like watching him, there are other stations.I try to flip through the channels and watch them all.At least I don't fall asleep listening to him.I don't often agree with him, but at least he is not just repeating what is said by everyone else. Now that would be boring.

If he keeps his ESPN job it creates and interesting parallel with him and his good buddy TO.Two guys talk bad about McNabb(TO and Rush), one a player one an ESPN analysts, both lose their jobs.MI is again caught with a tie to drugs and R. McMichael is bust for again beating a women and they keep their jobs. The sports world really has a clear vision of morality. PS- I can't stand what TO did, but when he is slammed and R. McMichael gets yet another slap on the wrist if just makes the league look ugly.

I knew he was back into drugs just by watching him on TV. This didn't surprise me. I Loved him as a player but was wondering when Ditka was gonna square back and hit him on them pre game shows. lol

I'm sure Irvin has plenty of aches and pains from his playing days. Maybe he was using marijuana for medicinal purposes?
:lmao: Yeah, and I guess all that coke he did during his playing days was only to ease the pain. Please. He's a repeat offender. Do I think being caught with pot paraphenalia is such a bad thing? No. But its illegal and he should know he's under a spot light.

Stop apologizing for him.

And I do think some ppl on this board are 10 years old.

You know, now that I think of it, Irvin looked awful natural as a convict in the remake of "The Longest Yard"!!!

And I do think some ppl on this board are 10 years old.
I know you are but what am I? :P Like I said before, I don't care about what Irvin does in his spare time, but he's hard to listen to. The show is bad enough with Berman blasting away, no need to make it worse by having Irvin there too.

LOL @ all the Irvin haters. You chumps all have egg on your face big time.

Irvin says the pipe belongs to a friend of his. Case closed.
#1 Lets stop using the word "HATER" it sounds stupid.#2 All criminals say the drugs etc. are not theirs, don't you ever watch COPS?

And you buy this? :lmao: I don't know if you have kids but if/when you do, you are going to be :own3d: when they become teenagers.

My quick take. This blows over and Irvin keeps his job.Not saying that's the right thing or the wrong thing. I'm saying I think that's what happens.J

I remember Irvin getting upended at the Vet and carted off. I did not remember that as career ending. Guess I'm getting old and forgetful. As for the "news" this is about as shocking as finding out Siragusa had seconds during his thanksgiving meal.

You are an Eagles fan. You cannot talk objectively on this subject.
