Tom Brady moving forward (1 Viewer)

Top 10 from here on out, guaranteed.
I just traded for him, as I think the same thing. When the masses start panicking, that's when I like to make a move. Sometimes is doesn't work out, but I'll take my chances with a guy like Brady where history is clearly on his side. No more than two weeks ago Calvin owners on this board were jumping off buildings...look how quickly things can change.

I'll go with 300+ and 3 TD's this week against PIT
Maybe I should have said 300+ and 3TD's in the first half against PIT!!

After having him in my lineup for the last 5 weeks, today he played against me in another league and equaled his last 5 weeks... As revenge I'm going to bang his wife ;)

I'm sure she's a deep sleeper in dynasty. :moneybag:

Brady looked on point all game. Good time for a bye week, bring on the bad weather.... I might be able to make a late charge.

I'm going to post this here as I don't want to poop on the Panther party going on in the other thread...

I'm feeling pretty bullish about Brady & Co., though not sure about the Carolina matchup.

For starters I do believe that Carolina's gotten some sweet matchups and good timing themselves, including K'nick with Vern out the game.

What's more we see the coming together of the many parts that were the focus of the preseason:

- Gronk back of course, whoohoo.

- Dobson developing, now a red zone target, KT & Boyce in the background

- Amendola healthy - maybe not a PPR machine like some thought but a quick strike weapon

- Here comes Vereen

- Ridley & the run game are going again

Then the explosion vs PIT.

So are Pats FF player owners feeling positive, or are the struggles we saw with Brady going to continue to pop up? According to CBS Brady was the second most traded QB, and something like the 8th most traded player altogether, between Mathews & Spiller. The crummy week before last was probably the breaking point for a lot of owners.

This falls into issues like whether to trade for Gronk, whether to add and start Dobson, holding Vereen, etc.

I'm having a hard time talking myself out of starting Brady, vereen, Gronk and leaving Car D on the bench - Rivers underperformance as of late has a lot to do with it though.

I think the Panthers Defense is slightly overrated at the point especially in their ability to shutdown Brady.

The first half of the season definitely was a rough ride for Brady but I think in the second half he will be a top 5 QB.

All the factors are starting to work in his favor. He is healthy, Gronk is back in top form, Amendola is the healthiest he has been since week #1, Dobson is developing nicely, Vereen likely will be back this week. Ridley is running well enough to keep D's honest and the defense has taken some injury hits which makes shootouts more likely.

The Pats have had two weeks to prepare for the Panthers and right now Brady has too many weapons for him to be shutdown by anyone. The Panthers Defense is good but if you look at their schedule so far you will see they haven't exactly been playing the top offenses around the league so far.

I wouldn't expect monster numbers against the Panthers this week for Brady but I doubt he gets shutdown by them either.

So far the Panthers have played:

1. Seattle - 11th ranked Offense (Wilson had 320 yards and a TD)

2.Buffalo - 16th Ranked Offense (Manuel had 296 yards and a TD)

3. NYG - 23rd Ranked Offense (Manning had only 119 yards and no Td's)

5. Arizona - 27th Ranked Offense (Palmer had 175 yards and a TD)

6. Minnesota -28th Ranked Offense (Cassel had 241 yards and a TD)

7.StLouis Rams - 26th Ranked Offense (Bradford had 255 yards and a TD)

8. TB Bucs - 31st Ranked Offense (Glennon had 275 yards and a TD)

9. Atlanta Falcons - 14th Ranked Offense - *But no Jones or White* (Ryan had 219 yards and a TD)

10 SF 49ers - 22nd Ranked Offense - (Kaepernick had 91 yards and No TD but he lost Davis during the game and 49ers only thew the ball 22 times)

So they haven't played a top 10 offense yet this year and 6 of their 9 games have come against the bottom ten offenses in the league and another game against Atlanta without Jones or White.

I think it is safe to say that the Pats are the most dynamic offense the Panthers have played against since at least Week 1 when Wilson went for over 300 yards against them. Even with all their injuries at WR in the first half the Pats are still the 12th ranked offense in the league. I suspect they are top 5 from here out.

I say Brady has 300 yards and 2 TD's this week. Benching him for the likes of Case Keenum would be a big mistake.

These are the kind of posts I miss on this board. Very good analysis! Of course, I had to sift through 50 "I'm debating starting xxx over him" posts to get to this one.

I no longer subscribe to pro football focus - for anyone who does - can you see what % of the time the para went no-huddle on 2011 and 2012 vs. 2013 ytd? My instinct tells me that number is way down this year, and that having vereen back will be the key that unlocks this aspect of their formerly dominant offense, when combined with more healthy Brady, Gronk, Amendola, and more in-sync Dobson.

Another good post. Am I on the right board?

I'm all in for the Pats for the ROS.

Traded for Brady, replacing my injured Rodgers.

Then traded for Gronk.

And I'm waiting to see Vereen's comeback so I might sell Bush to upgrade my Wrs.

yeah, I don't have the tally, but I'm sure you can't really do that effectively with what they were rolling out there earlier -- rookie receivers, no gronk, no vereen, no hernandez. no welker.

it's about creating mismatches, and your offense needs to be on the same page.

with gronk, vereen, and amendola back, and dobson having 10 weeks to break in, I'd expect a great deal more from that offense.

this kind of reminds me of another game a few years ago

wk8 @minny 2006

mcdaniels was oc, but this was a year prior to the pats offense being considered a juggernaut.

they had supposedly gotten fat off a soft divisional schedule, and were going to be tested by a 4-2 minny team that finished the year first in rush yds allowed and yds/carry -- this was back in the williams wall days, if you remember that.

they ran the ball 13x and threw 43 to win 31-7.

Yeah, I'm thinking this might be true.

here's a snippet from local radio looking back at the pitt game --- features matt chatham, who used to play for the pats

and here's a shorter bit on the pats offense in general --- hahahaha....they reference that minny game I linked above

that's bizarre
